FATMAP: Hike, Bike, Ski Trails - 3D Outdoor Maps

This app is amazing, it has helped me so much as a photographer to explore and scout areas from home before heading out. The functions it offers for winter activities such as avalanche risk, recent snowfall ( on Explore) and showing gradients clearly really help when planning a safe adventure in the mountains. Been using it for a few years and will never move from it

The experience degraded since I subscribed two years ago. I backountry ski on two large mountain ranges. I used to be able to download both areas and the app worked. Downloads have always been slow but I did not mind leaving the phone on overnight to download areas. Recently the app stopped downloading large areas. It also became very sluggish when I have my two areas downloaded. I always have to delete one area then struggle to download the other using small tiles overnight. It used to work.

As a hiker in low internet area (called nature) it's an excrutiating pain how much internet/power and useless gimmicks, animated images, complicated and long onboarding checklists this abomination of an app has... Just give me the map with trails and my gps position. How hard is this?? And in the end of the process, fatmap didn't even have italian map/hiking trails. Went with komoot instead. Also bloated but at least gives you what you need, when you need it.

Got the full version, good detail in the aerial view and a good visual representation of the area with OS overlay. But can't search by GB Grid Ref which would make it so much more useful, can search by lat and long but it's not practical for everyday use. GD grid ref is required for this app to be indispensable.

Looking good. Just freshly dropped into app. I believe a few local maps should be downloadable for free, to can explore application capabilities in deep. Mostly there is no Internet connection there, where app is to be used. There are some mountains peaks having a endless rock spikes into the heaven in 3D.

Beautiful 3D app for virtual exploration/reconnaissance. The free version is agonizingly limited and naggy when testing routing features - it stops after 3 points. Also, it would be nice to be able to route on private roads.

Still doesn't connect my Garmin routes. Canned responses from developers. 3D map UI is broken, can't shift up or down. Automatically shifts to 3D when clicking on a trail so I can't put it back into 2D. It's been like this as long as I've used the app so this stuff is clearly not going to be fixed. While the map is great, it isn't worth the annoyance and I will not buy this product.

Slow glitchy. Signed up on website. When the app doesn't hang it will not let me past the email sign in page. Makes it an easy decision to stick with OS maps.

A great tool for anyone in the outdoors with some fantastic features. A real help when planning trips out as well as once you are out and about.

I love this app. One feature I'd like to see developed further is offline route planning. Currently you can only plan a route while online. In the field you may want to drop a pin to get a route and travel time estimate without network access. I'd also like to have the ability to tune the estimated trip time to my personal preference. E.g. travel time may depend on how much weight I carry or whether I travel with a group. Finally, I'd like to see planning support for multiple waypoints.

Was loving this app, used it all the time. The map won't load now, so I subscribed for the free trial with the intention of paying for subscription once the trial was done. But to my disappointment the map still will not load!! I've tried closing and opening the app, even restarting my phone. Map will still not load. I will be uninstalling and unsubscribing if this issue does not resolve itself. I was intending on using this map this weekend, if it starts working. Thumbs down!

Very good map. Detailed, accurate, with responsive and intuitive navigation. However, map download stops when app is not in the foreground. Also, impossible to limit map download to wifi only (which ended up costing me half my international cell phone data plan when I wasn't looking).

When downloading maps, ot just freezes. I've tried the smallest possible areas, but still it just hangs there. Renders this program useless.

Looks like a great app in theory, but so slow it is unusable, either freezing or taking a long time.

Offline map downloading either takes forever or doesn't seem to work. Unable to successfully download anymore, making the app useless for in the field navigation.

It just stopped working. Once I click on a route it won't let me navigate or download. Tried reinstalling and restarting and the problem persists.

Best imagery and elevation model available with useful overlays. I tried to make this my default GPS app. The following flaws make this unsuitable for serious backcountry use: 1. On my last alpine mission (yesterday) I opened the app at the trail to find my carefully planned route. I was greated with a login screen... With no service to log-in I could not access the app. 2. Currently the images won't even load so down to one stars. Not even useful as a planning tool. QA?

Wow this app is amazing ، the picture quality is far better than gogle earth and some features gives you a great flexibility 👌👌👌 I use for paragliding

Freezes when trying to view activities. They load fine, but then the UI completely freezes.

Great App, but where can I change my password? Or do anything with the account? I can only edit my profile not my account. I wouldn't even be able to delete it, there is no option.

I hate the forced account creation. I don't need to have my info shared even more for just looking at 3d maps. It's sad because it was a nice app! Update after several years: still a forced account creation. No TOTP 2FA. Forced full name. No privacy options on the data. No opt out of their spam email list (which should be an opt-in)

Useless without downloaded maps which cost $40 per year! Wish they gave a breakdown of costs before they waisted my time downloading it. I guess they use the well proven tactic of getting you to sign up for a free trial and then being to lazy to cancell it. Who knows, might be worth it if you used it all the time. I Uninstalled it.

Used to work great. Now the map textures won't load and it's always blurry.

It's a really classy app with nice 3d maps and visualisations. I still can't get it working with my Strava account so 1 less star

Thank you Fatmap for finally adding a way to plot route without the need of a laptop!! It was the only thing missing. Best navigation map out there by far.

Best 3D mapping tool, with plenty of trekking, skiing, and mountain bike routes around the globe.

The app is great! there is a bug when I open a link inside of a note it closed abruptly the app. I hope you can fix it. Thank you!
