The latest update is SLOW. Rescan of my 2000+ books takes 5-10+++ minutes. Startup takes a while and everything is sluggggggish while the plugin does whatever it needs to do during startup. CPU usage warnings abundant in status bar. This plugin never was fast for me, but it was at least fairly usable before this latest update.
Won't stay focused on correct folder. Resets and requires frequent browsing to Books folder. Superb other than this. I keep hoping it gets fixed but nothing yet. Meanwhile I'll find another reader.
Is good at 1st. Then the updates ruined it. Now I can't search my own library. What's more certain epubs can't be opened by this. I have to go to my file manager to open them. Pretty much became an irrelevant app if that's the case.
Garbage. Doesn't find any books, texts, or PDFs, even with all additional plug-ins installed. Waste of time.
App keeps crashing when trying to load the bookshelf mode. Not sure how to fix it but it can't chose any books without un-instaling the app.
Great add-on, helps me organize my books and have no issue whatsoever, it's really easy to use

I love this app. I can upload my books by folder by author and the app follows the folders so I can search my books by author
why should i wast my phone memory by installing this app when you can design a beautiful book shelf inside fb reader?

Had to update my review as there have been some huge improvements. This app will now show all books on my sd card, working much like a file manager, plus it will display book covers. Still has some issues. Huge minus is that the search function only works for the folder you are in and does not search subfolders, but I have to admit that all too many file managers have the same flaw. A small niggle is it does not display all my book covers at once, but rather only shows the books in the current folder (as it is working more like a file manager now). Since all my books are organized in separate subfolders from a to z, and then in further subfolders by author (or by subject for nf), this means I only see covers for the books in the folder I am currently in. Since I have a HUGE number of ebooks (as in over a thousand), I need to keep them organized, though I would love an app that would keep them organized for me, hint, hint. Still, this version of FBReader Bookshelf is a huge improvement and brings this app much closer to being a true book manager.
I like this app and its companion app the fb reader. I have it on my tablet which is a 4.4 android and on my phone that is a 7.0 android and it works well on both versions. Never have any problems.
Only creates a handful of covers and then stops. Not suitable for book collections of any size.
Doesn't work for nougat 7. Never loads all I see is a black screen. Worked sort of the first time I downloaded it on 1plus 5 but was spinning/searching for books & then nothing.
FBReader Bookshelf works just fine but for some issues. Even after specifying the book formats I want and leaving out those I don't want in the Library for Supported File Formats in Settings, when it rescans it overrides my specifications and still shows All in the Bookshelf. It's especially frustrating when those unnecessary files show up in Recently Added, completely over shadowing the epub files I want displayed. Please address this issue. Other than that, your app is very good!
