The game is based on years of research and experience into the science of literacy. It incorporates key skills for literacy, including Phonological Awareness, Letter Recognition, Phonics, Vocabulary, and Sight Word Reading so kids can develop a strong foundation for reading. Built around the concept of caring for a collection of monsters, it is designed to encourage empathy, perseverance and socio-emotional development for children.
WHO ARE WE?
Feed the monster was funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the EduApp4Syria-competition. The original Arabic app was developed as a joint venture between Apps Factory, The Center for Educational Technology (CET) and The International Rescue Committee (IRC).
Feed the Monster was adapted to English by Curious Learning, a non-profit dedicated to promoting access to effective literacy content for everyone who needs it. We're a team of researchers, developers, and educators dedicated to giving children everywhere literacy education in their native language based on evidence and data – and are working to bring Feed The Monster to 100+ high-impact languages around the world.

My son loves this game. I wish you would make more levels or make a new one with different vowels. This is perfect it just need to be expanded in how many letters and vowels they can use and learn.
Great at the beginning, repetition is key but needs to be more challenging (Critical thinking)
It's taking ages to download. I've been trying to get it for the past 3 day. My network work fine though.
I recently downloaded and it just freezes after finished the first level and won't let you go to the next.
It kept stopping and there was no way to exit.
App hangs on startup. Pretty bad experience

It was so lovely using this app
When I tried it out, I couldn't help but play for 10 levels! It introduces the easiest letters and sounds first, and then builds to increasing difficulty. Great educational value! Super fun! And cute monsters!
Trying it out for my 4 year old, got addicted and about to 'beat it'! Great letter and word scaffolding, can't wait to start him on it! Bravo!!

Could not find a way to quit the app. Had to use Android's square button and slide. There should be an easy way to quit the app without having to use Android's app manager.
