Notifications are only one line and can't be expanded like every other apps notifications, making them basically useless as you can't even read a full headline of the article to see if it's worth clicking through on. No widget to let you have it on the home page either so you have to click into the app to see any detail. Some really basic functionality that's missing here - fix it and this app would be great.
Every time I zoom in upon opening a new feed the screen resets the zoom to 100% after a few seconds. I am often already reading the content when that happens. Very irritating. Otherwise only one RSS has an issue with delivering delayed updates in a batch once a week, which doesn't seem to be fixable. If both those issues were fixed then I don't see why this app couldnt earn 5 stars.
Not bad, but this app is sorely in need of an update. Need the ability to filter out read messages, a dark screen mode, and to automatically go to the next folder with unread messages after marking all as read (which should be accessible with one touch instead of having to navigate a menu).
Great app, simple and to the point! The dev team is also really helpful. One major addition that would make the app better would the ability to view the top 50 feeds through a widget, but other than that, it's a great app!
Fairly mediocre experience. Feeder is great in a web browser and via the browser extension. But this app leaves a lot to be desired. It seldom, if ever, gets updated and after all these years still hasn't fixed all titles being greyed out when read counts are disabled.
Updated review. After contacting Customer Support some issues with the notification times were explained and resolved, and so far the app seems to be quicker than other feed reading solutions, and works as intended, albeit it still takes the application longer than stated to send notifications, and, as explained by the CS, it's related to the RSS website having cache that takes some time to process before notifying the user of a new item in the feed. Older review. The Pro version which costs $5 to subscribe and allegedly has an option to refresh the feed and leave notifications every 1 minute doesn't work as intended. In fact, it sends notifications the last out of all RSS feed reading applications and extensions I got, sometimes sending a notification 10 minutes after an item appears on the feed instead. The Support answered once about the issue and then went silent for 2 weeks. False advertising of the paid functionality and poor customer support.
After using the Gengo 'power-up' for around a year, I am will not continue the subscription after this month. The main reason is that it simply doesn't work as intended. The notifications come late, sometimes several hours (!) which defeats the entire point of it. I contacted customer service about this issue (probably a simple fix), but they were not helpful. If you offer a paid product, it has to deliver as promised, otherwise you will lose trust, even of you're under the wings of Gengo.
While you have to pay for more than 10 feeds it is worth it, a few bucks a month and avoids the hassle of tidous page searching and multiple apps. Easy to track stories and the dashboard is great!
Beware, once you bought their plan it's really difficult to get rid of it. You can not cancel their paid plan through their website, nor through customer service. They don't allow you to delete your account. I could not remove my credit card information from their website either. Had to replace my credit card in the end, a huge waste of time and extremely unpleasant.
I prefer the previous version. I could click just once and open my feeds directly and it was faster. But now i have to click 2 to 3 times before it opens. Feedsrs are for faster response so i dont see why i have to enter all collections first before still clicking to open my feed..poor update
The browser extensions you offer login with your Google account, but in this android app there's no way to login with Google account. How do you think I could connect? Are you kidding me? What's the project 😂 Edit: social login has been fixed, but dark mode must follow system theme on Android 10 and later. Edit 2: I'm happy that this 2 problem have been addressed, and fixed. Thanks for taking my feedback in consideration 👍
Overall the app is good, the biggest downside is the payment model. You're limited to only 25 articles, which makes the app completely unless you subscribe to the pro. Sorry but it's enough to give 1 star considering feedly does the exact same thing with unlimited articles for free
Best thing about this app is its chrome extension. While other rss feed apps has dedicated apps for computers, i hardly found time to open those "dedicated" apps. I was happy with chrome extension itself. Surprised to see such a low rating here.
A good reader but this gives only some RSS in free.. This made me sad after installing the app. Hope the developers upgrade the amount of reading RSS feed.
Can't use it because I log in with Google online and there is no option for that on the app 🙄 *edit - now fixed and can log in with Google. Just started using and looks good so far, have used the browser version for a while and like it.
How to turn off sound for notifications? EDIT: yes it works, but I'm missing some personilazed setting turn off sound/vibrates only ... as other apps do.
Name is incredibly confusing. I was trying to find the open sourced app named Feeder, that's recommended all over Reddit, but there's like 5 with the same name. Finally found the one I was looking for (green F icon), but are they all named similar on purpose? I think so.
High rating yet there is something... Glady found your Firefox plugin a while ago; then this app on my galaxy mobile... But then would not perform on this Galaxy Tab A7 (SM-T505) - [...more applause, maybe (?)...] - so please address this with an update soonest as possible. Believe I did - as a gentleman - email you a similar query *shrug*. Of course, am able to use your plugin on Firefox but would luv to be able to use the app on this bigger screen. [Mainly to read my webcomics.] Regards, Ian.
There're no updates... I wrote in emails about delayed notifications monthes ago... But I have not heard anything since they told me they were working on it... I feel like I am paying the app for nothing...
It is too bad we have to pay for such an experience, but this app does it right, signed up last year and resigned this year, just a way better route to stay informed, no more trending news, just actual real time stories
It would be great to be able to sign in using Google account, as I opted for it in an extension and cannot get to my account through the app 😏
Application ignores system notification volume setting, resulting in *extremely* loud notification sounds at all times. AVOID!
I don't see option to sign in with google account, so I'm in situation when in chrome extension I am signed in with google account but here it requires me to input login and password or signup in app... weired...
I liked the app a lot but the new design isn't that functional anymore. Please bring back the "swipe to mark read" feature.
Simple and efficient app which I use for news tracking. It can't be simpler and easiee to use.
I keep missing out on job opportunities because the alerts ping up on my phone about an hour or more after they are sent!
Gives you a notification that there's an update to the site, but won't load the page when you click "Read full post"
Got very slow after the UI update. Not useful anymore. Canceled my pro subscription.
Cool idea but.. Reddit import of feed doesn't work. It wants to open the reddit app instead of keeping content in feeder.
The shiny new version is completely broken on my tablet! There's a panel on the left side that says "Get ready to rumble" that hides the actual feed and I have no idea what it's for but I can't make it go away. Update: Seems to have partially fixed itself (and I'm learning the new interface better). The panel that shows the article is now on the right, and doesn't hide the feed. I still can't select a different article by tapping on the feed panel.
