Feeds & Speeds for Milling

This APP was formerly know as "Feeds and Speeds for Milling" and "Pro Speeds and Feeds" This is an updated version equivalent to the pay "Pro Speeds and Feeds" but is now FREE!
This app has no ads!

Speeds & Feeds for Milling comes pre-loaded with lots of materials, but will also allow you to add, delete and modify any and all materials. Don’t like the numbers you get with the stock settings, then change them, It’s that simple.

Currently supports standard square end mills making peripheral cuts.

Speeds & Feeds for Milling is not just another milling calculator, but something much more. This calculator will give you the basic spindle RPM and feed rate based on the type of cutter and material being machined. Just tell it about your end mill, the material being cut, and max feed rate and horsepower of you CNC/machine... and Speeds and Feeds will tell you what RPM, feed rate in IPM, radial width of cut, and axial depth per pass for both roughing and finishing. All based on your machines capabilities. Feeds and Speeds will automatically adjust the feed and cut depths to stay within your specified machine horsepower. No need to look up chip loads or power factors. Speeds and Feeds is loaded with all the basic machining materials... and then some."This is the most useful speeds and feeds I’ve seen, great job"
- Mike The following materials are supported.Aluminum 6061 T1-T3, Aluminum 6061 T4-T6, Aluminum 2024, Aluminum 7075, Aluminum Billet, Aluminum Cast, Brass Free Cutting, Brass Wrought, Bronze, Copper, Iron Hard, Iron Soft, Magnesium Alloy, Plastic Acetal, Plastic Nylon, Plastic PVC, G10 Fiberglass/Polyester, Graphite, Graphite Fiber/Epoxy, Stainless 15-5 / 17-4 ph, Stainless 303, Stainless 440c, Stainless 304, Stainless 316, Steel 1018-1020, Steel 4130, Steel 4140, Steel 4340, Tool Steel A2, Tool Steel D2, Tool Steel H13, Tool Steel P20, Titanium Comm Pure, Titanium 6al-4v, Titanium 6al-6v, Inconel, Nitralloy N-315, and more.

This program gives basic feed and speed calculations. It is up to the user to determine if they are correct for each individual application and to make adjustments as needed. Use of the calculations provided may result in broken tooling and/or machine damage. Use at your own risk. No warranty is given or implied.

Completely useless. Does not help you calculate anything...just does some simple math based on all of the parameters you input. Whatever your 'max' spindle speed is, this app calculates chip load/tooth etc.

no matter what I put in for the machines max speeds it tells me that is what I should run it at. I should not be running at 3000rpm on a 1/2" mill through stainless

Very good and useful app for vmc.

Love this app. Simple.

It worked before then just stopped. Now every time I put a value in it just gives a popup saying it's just a reference blablabla I hit the agree button and it just repeats the exact same thing over and over can't get past that step

Best one on the play store. Just plug in the size, type, teeth of your cutter and select the material, works like magic. You can add your own materials, I added materials under the older codes like en1a, as that's what I am used to. If you want to use it for turning just put in the cutter has 1 tooth.

Looks good. Simple and accurate so far. Could update with different cutter profiles, assume this is for flat end mills

This is the best app I could find for calculating feeds without knowing the material properties. I would make some tweaks to the interface to make it perfect. Anyway, it works, so you got 5 stars!

Great app looks at material, takes into account user defined chip load..simple displays ..excellent

No difference between HP in inch mode and kW in metric mode! So, requed power calculation is wrong!

This app is amazing for a hobby machinist. Large selection of materials, lightweight, simple to use, etc.

I must be missing something. When I select tool dia and type then material, why isn't it filling in the rpm for me? If it's me let me know what I'm doing wrong so I can improve on this review!

If I would change anything would put info about ripper cutters not much info out there for them but a great app

Reseting to inch and not allow to set tool type

Great for feed and speed calculator.

I give 5 because theres acrylic. But can its properties be trusted source?

Great Application.

First thing I tried was milling of a pocket I'm currently working on. .375 endmill, 1.75 deep. The app locks the axial and radial DOC, so it's kinda useless for me. It recommends that I cut the pocket in .375 deep steps. That's a little too old school to be useful to me.

It gave S&Fs that were clearly incorrect. Carbide 1/2" tool with 4 flutes on mild steel yielded 342 RPM at 39 ipm. HUH?

Great app love it
