Installation couldn't have been simpler but I was initially very disappointed with how long it took for the app to connect to the camera's WiFi (30 seconds) and wanted to return it. Their tech support worked with me over the weekend to get it working, which I really appreciated. Trick is to keep app minimized while driving so it only has to connect once. From minimized, the camera will start immediately when the app is invoked.
Worked fine on my old Note 5...then I switched to a Note 9 and it did not want to log me into my first account, it would be stuck on the loading screen for hours. Re-registered with a new email but waiting for the sensor to connect takes so long, I've already parked my car. The TAP button works 2 out of 10 tries, but when it does work, the time it takes to connect to the sensor doesn't make sense. I used to love this product, now it's like a $100+ paper weight. Just improve latency.
App is designed to complement hardware so comments are related. Setup could be simpler. Had me going through some menus multiple times. Calibration instructions were a little confusing also. Now that everything is working seems ok. I have sensor on front and it shows no clearance remaining at 15 inches. No way to adjust further. Also, the instructions say to leave notifications on, which means app pops up anytime I am near the garage. Should have a fix so can be fully operational without these.
Waste of money. Has never worked. It is a flawed design. Rather than blutooth they software want to connect to the license plate camera via network. They claim distance is an issue but I stand inches from the camera and the app doesn't sync 9 out of 10 times, or takes several minutes and to connect and then there is video delay and dropping connection. Great concept, but I would give it a ZERO for design and implementation.
Buggy, slow and takes for ever to connect. When it works it's great but when it doesn't you think it's working and you back into a car! Please just iron out the bugs before your next venture. Nov 2019 update: They have not fixed any of the reliability issues, really a disappointing purchase.
Latest update is worse. 1/2 time sensor indicator lines don't display, or worse they display but don't indicate when you're close to something. Sometimes restarting app helps, sometimes not. My rear sensor now shows as the front. Setting the sensor setback in inches isn't saved. The back button when setting setback does nothing. Help is still pretty useless. The tap button works better.
It works on my phone but what I want to do is connect it to my aftermarket Android head unit and the problem is that the app only works on portrait mode and not landscape so I can't set it up since the head unit is only on landscape mode. I can't go past the initial setup screen since I can't see the bottom part of the menu. Fensens if you are listening please fix this problem to be able the view the full menu either in portrait or landscape mode!
When it works its great. Problem is it doesn't work all the time. The app works when you first connect but if you leave car and come back the app just continuously tries to connect to the sensor. This unit is pricey and for it not to work with app is very disappointing.
Not working 90% of time. It shows either as if it is very close obstacle (which is not the case) or no sound at all and no graphics. And these guys in tech support are asking to test different versions of their "nice" app and explain in e-mail what happens now. You pay them to be their testers. Do not buy!
Extremely well-packaged product and easy in set up. Took me 5 minutes to install it on my front license plate and within 2 minutes I had signal going on my phone. I tried getting close to back of a parked car. Screen showed several segmented lines and as I got closer, # of segments became less. Finally with no segments showing, I stopped completely. I came out and I saw my front bumper was 10 inch away from the back bumper of the parked car in front. I'm very satisfied with performance. Parvis
I am using the sensors version not the camera (front and back plates). The app takes forever to connect if ever. It usually does not connect at all. When it occasionally does, It takes so long I'm already parked. Update : 2-25-21 I went back to an older version of the app to get a bit more reliability. I came here to update to notice the recent reviews that are 5 star are clearly purchased reviews. You can tell this by the bad grammar, repetitive phrases & generic commentary. Dev fix app!
Sadly, the software just isnt reliable. Raine's review is spot on. It used to be quite reliable but something is going on lately (pixel 2 here with latest OS updates), and just when you need to backup... it wont connect or connects and shows no lines... no, im unable to recommend this anymore.
Tap button doesn't launch the app like it used to before the update. Also, in the bbn past when it use to work, with the tapping of the button, it should automatically enable Wifi. What's the point of a tap button if it is not seamless into launching the video from the camera and I still have to grab my p hiii one and enable wifi, etc.
Not good with the tap button. The first time you open the app it works perfectly fine, but then when you use it again pressing the tap button it takes longer to load and sometimes the color bars dont appear. And sometime you have to double press the tap button to make it work. Version 2.5.17
very dissatisfied with this product, worked great when I got out, but now it's not, doesn't close and app stays running in the background, have to force stop it or my phone won't lock, wish I could return it but stuck with it 5/1/19 reinstalled old app, the sensor works like when it was new,not sure what the issue was with the updates but as long as it works now I'm ok with that
Very poor customer service. Button does not connect. I tried every version of fensens. I using a S9+. They tell me to change battery. Probably going to send back . Button will not pair on my bluetooth. App picks up button. But fails to connect.
Very hit or miss. Mostly miss. Bar just keeps moving across the top of screen and nothing happens no matter how close the vehicle is to something. When it does work it works fine it just doesn't work very often.
It is fast application and cutting-edge parking technology I know. This program does a good job at audio, visual, and vibration alerts, I have used this several times and have been very impressed, it even does good in heavy rain.
The sensor works but the whole purpose of the backup sensor was to have a working button and app. The button has never worked despite numerous battery changes and their customer service stopped replying so I'm assuming they just don't have a solution for this.
phone app no longer works after update. phone screen showing distance just get blue bar scrolling accros top of screen as it appears to try and connect to plate with bluetooth which it never does. support never replied when asked for help. fensens plate is now useless. also tap button also fails to connect. update fensens plate now consistantly connects. But this update did not fix the failure of the tap button to connect. if helpful app sees button but the says tap button failed to connect
The tap button no longer works after the recent update. Tried changing battery, delete and readd with no help. Updated on 3/28, tried latest version, tap button is still not working. Tried contact support email also, told to wait for beta.
I purchased a backup camera because my wife’s car came with one from the factory, and it is the one thing I wish my slightly older model SUV had come with. Easy to install. My first camera unit wouldn’t power up for me, but they quickly replaced it with a new unit and that works like a champ! The picture on my iPhone is better than the view my wife’s car gives her on the dash board with the bigger screen. The picture is wider and clearer on the FenSens camera!
Simple and easy to use. I used to have difficulties in having Ultrasonic parking sensors that provide audio, visual, and vibration alerts, that is the reason why I am really interested in this app. It’s so helpful.
I've been using it for about a month now, and it works as expected, but there are some hiccups here and there that should really be handled differently, for example, have an offline mode, so that when your servers decide to not work for more than 24 hours, new users and those that need to reinstall can actually start using the app right away.
It worked great for a few months, then the video stopped working completely in October. I reached out to them and it turns out their app doesn't work with the latest version of Android. Three months later there still hasn't been an update.
I've been using this app 2-3 years now. I ended up purchasing a Toyota Tacoma TRD. Cannot see much over the hood, actually nothing. Not once has this app and the sensors have let me down. Plus the two times I've contacted their support team. Once when I was installing it, and a general question later on. They replied and helped me resolve my issue and questions.

After dozens of attempts, the app only managed to connect to the camera a few times, and when it did the video was so slow that it makes the whole thing unusable. I emailed support, thinking maybe there was a setting for wifi or mobile data on my Pixel 3a that I needed to change so it would work, and got no response. For a product that costs about $200, this is wholly unacceptable. DON'T BUY THIS!
