NOTES.
1) If in edit mode you try to open a large file, then there will be delays when opening and scrolling.
The optimal file size depends on the type of file (text or binary) and device performance.
2) Binary files may be displayed with loss of information (some bytes of the file cannot be converted to text).
3) Limitations of the free version: 33 encodings are available. During the editing process, you can undo the last 10 changes.

Igor — nice app, but one issue. Encoding is not automatically recognized, I have to manual select it every time I open a file. Auto detection of encoding is enabled in Settings. I'm using a .txt extension, but I don't see how that could be the problem.
Really simple text editor, no confusing proportional spacing, exactly what I want for very basic text editing. If I need anything more, I would have used Word.
Can't delete a file (typical non-functionality of Microsoft editors, but nearly all other editors can delete a file). No dark mode to save battery life. Similar to WordPad. Best Android editor I found, and I tried a dozen+. I will rate 5 stars when the editor has dark mode and deletes files. I have 2.8.8. I have not noticed any bugs. It works very well.
Does anybody know of a real app for editing text? This one let's you upload a pdf than every time you try to click on anything it has a pop up that says "BLOCKED" and nothing happens .
Great app. I find some of the things are a bit obscure but I use a desktop for most of my computing. The mono spaced font could use some improving but at least it's accceptable. I think the low scores (1) are people who installed the wrong app for them. I may try the other fonts as I read the comments it's for display only.
Exactly what it claims to be: a Simple Editor! The layout is simple and intuitive ; very conducive to editing or creating a text file. Anyone with a passing knowledge of text editors will feel comfortable with this one. I've definitely gotta buy this guy a coffee!
OK and is pretty good.... But there are some issues with it scrolling and the page staying put when I edit it, and also it inappropriately highlights words as misspellings when they are correct.
Great app to edit .pdfs or convert .doc or word files to .pdfs Quite useful with files created in HTML like .epubs. Amazing app with simple interface. Thank you devs.!
exactly what i have been looking for! a no frills, no ads, txt editor. notepad in windows was the first i used, wordpad was good too. as soon as i can get a ride and get a google play card i will buy the payware, you have to eat just like me!
Just the thing for song lyrics in rtf format. No ads!!! A keeper.

It's a plan text . Then how can fonts change. And for docx I have Adobe reader

The app useful! Me helped the instuctions on website.
This is perfgect for my purposes. The title says it all: simple. I wasn't looking for any "bells or whistles." I only wanted a very basic app for creating .txt files on my Android smartphone. Once I figured out how to attach files to the phone's email app I was happy (that issue was from my email app, not SimpleEditor. Any mistakes I make in a .txt file I plan to fix from my PC. Thank you for this app.
