I've been using this for a long time, and have generally liked it a lot. However, recently I tried using the FX Connect feature, and it would not work correctly, although it worked in the past. I sent a support email, with no answer after a week or so, so I resent the same email, as a forward, so they'd know I already sent it once. Still no reply after another week or two, so until I get a reply, I will rate them at one star. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect some response to a bug report. Sorry FX Same problem months later with another bug report. Uninstalled FX, installed Solid Explorer - much better, easier to use, and no errors so far.

Unable to transfer to external network storage. Support is basically non-existent --so you're on your own! Samsung Galaxy Note 8 & 9. I took my time writing to ask if there was a way to circumvent this problem and I never heard back from them... Probably never will. I can do this with all other operating systems. The circle spins "Can read from sources" I love the app. I actually preferred it to the Android because it's more intuitive. However, not responding to your customers is not acceptable

Instantly wanted to purchase but waited to test more. Be sure to try the trial. This developer makes some great apps. Always room for improvement but it's definitely on par with the best. I'm coming from ES Pro, so I'm missing some of my old features, but this brings things to the table I didn't have before. I really miss my swiping between windows the most (the current isn't as fluid/natural)...

After having tried multiple file explorers, I finally settled for this one. It's intuitive to use, has multiple features like accessing a Windows network (which I needed), accessing cloud storage like Google Drive (which can be used to show you the number of files and space used by a folder, something that Google's own Drive app can't show), access the files in your phone by type of media (photos, audio, etc.), etc. All of this while looking good. Would love an update though. Recommended.

The app looks great - at least with the FX Faenza add-on theme - and the Web Access feature is superb. But it is annoying that it has a number of niggling faults and it appears they're never going to be fixed, so I am only giving it 3 stars. It won't open azw3 files in FBReader Pro, even though the latter DOES support the new system (and Google's own Files app and all other file manager apps I've tried will). It misbehaves when I slot in a USB flash drive. And it won't open one particular jpeg I copied onto the phone, which admittedly is quite a large file, but my other file manager apps with their own image displayers will. Plus the app developer never replied when I emailed about the first two of theses issues, which shows a poor attitude to customers - shame given that it is mostly so good.

This is the best file exploring app I've ever used. I would ask for one future feature update: it would be great to be able to do a bulk photo upload to Google Photos. I use my phone for work, from time to time, and I don't want Google Photos to upload everything. So I manually upload what I want. Their backup interface is not so awesome, the one from FX File Explorer is way better. Thanks for all the hard work, great app!!!

Best app I've ever used BUT it's outdated and Google keeps removing the apps abilities and the users overall ability or perceived control. the developers are and were truly thinking ahead when designing this app... But at some point had to reverse course I presume.. and it shows in some places.. not their fault though. Not recommended for Android 11 or higher..10 u might get away with but it's definitely from an era of consensually prioritizing user objectives instead of the intended direction things seem to be headed in 2022... when the Captain isn't around to sink with the ship, it's not admirable to feel obliged to sink with it for the true "enthusiast" experience... It's just silly here.. so why am I left thinking I'll do it anyway? That's the truth. guess I'm silly.. maybe digital unwell, but by God I could be doing way worse things in life... Liike being a mercenary.. or car salesman... Both equally bad imo

My only request is to add line numbers to the text editor app (if they haven't already, since I'm using an older version), like how the text viewer has them. I've been using this app for a while now and figured it was time to upgrade to the paid version. Even though I'll never need any of the additional features in the full version, I'd like to thank the developers for making this excellent app that's among the most powerful and versatile file managers out there.

This App is the BEST!!...i have tried many...and some are very user unfriendly and dangerous...because they will wipe your entire drive in no time if you are not utterly careful!. But this app is safe and user friendly and it's doing the job Superbly!!. I found my way in this very user friendly app very quickly and easily...even with the Tv it's Tv file manager app...it just works smoooooooth!...📢try it and buy it...you won't be sorry! 100% TESTED👌

This app should work perfectly unless a user has incorrect permissions, settings or just plain doing something incorrectly. With root permissions it's insanely powerful, exponentially useful, expending the capabilities of any phone. Unfortunately much of what everyone really wants it for requires adb and another device to send commands from because, 2020.....

All the plus extras are working great for me except for FX Connect. Doesn't work at all even if "Disconnect from Wi-Fi Access Point" is enabled. I don't really like X-plore but WiFi file sharing does actually work pretty well and is the only thing I use it for. Would easily rate 5 stars if all the features I paid for worked.

Jor. D. Aug 9, 2020

Absolutely, positively worth it. The ability to transfer files to and from my phone without plugging it in is ridiculously convenient, and I love being able to connect to my local NAS from my phone. It's absolutely fantastic.

Network Access to windows and other devices, possible to clean out the home screen with only needed things, and finally remote access to your phone! All the things I wanted and more! My only request being a fingerprint option for the keyring.

Works well with a decent UI with one exception: its performance when copying from an sftp or smb share is horribly slow. It barely can manage 1/2MB/s. Doing the same using adb push results in 4-4.5MB/s, the limit of the microsdxc sdcard.

My father purchased this to connect to the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV over WiFi, but couldn't. I think it's the credentials charset, as other apps can connect with it, no problems whatsoever. Shield TV SMB passwords are not custom; they're are auto-generated, composed of letters and dashes, i.e. word0-word1-word2. Please fix this.

I use it all the time, I never have issued and it does exactly everything I need it to and should do with root and system as root'd device. I'm very glad I bought the license years ago, it's my go to everything for file and root system work plus unpacks installed apps so I can't for anything more, it just works. I've never reviewed FX File before but I should have, I literally use it all the time and so will you. It also has a shortcut on my desktop where shortcuts aren't many due to space

It lets me handle files and directories in a native way. Has very well thought features on top. I am happy with the plus version since that allows me to access data on the net.

Pir. Jul 12, 2020

I've been happily using the free version for years, and finally decided to chip in the well-deserved $ to support. Love how this upgrade is easy (add-on key only) - no "back-up, install new, restore, uninstall old" process needed.

Was once a great app. Has issues with launching Microsoft apps for documents on sdcards. I would recommend looking at other file managers first. I myself tend to use a competing file manager these days. Pitty!

Ray. C. Apr 30, 2021

Quite worth the investment if you used your google opinion rewards to get this (and even more so if they were expiring). REALLY want SMB3 to be supported, but unfortunately supports up to SMB2 as of now. But all other additional connectivity is very nice like with google drive and ftp.

Not sure who's fault but when playing videos over wifi lan connection from Windows folder share; the video will loose connection after 15ish minutes and you have to navigate all the way back to the video. Playing with mx player pro.

Lil. S. Sep 22, 2020

I paid for a license of an app I appreciated for years, but then when trying to take that license to my other 2 devices it tried to force me to pay for it yet again. All 3 use the same account, I should have simple access to it from all devices on that account. Good thing I figured it out while I could still get refunded

I've had FX for many years now, still the best file manager by far. Very reliable, has all of the features you could need without bloat. A must have for any self respecting Android user!

Céz. A. Dec 16, 2019

It would be great if you could add a little smb server, at least as an add-on that needs root (because of the ports). It's too bad that FX plus has a smb client but doesn't have a server.
