Nothing comes close to FiLMiC Pro for serious mobile videography. One thing I would wish for would be a way to permanently lock in your shutter speed. I always need to film at one specific value and find the selection+locking procedure as fiddly (even nerve wracking in some situations). In fact, I would most love an option to keep all manually chosen settings identical between restarts of the app. In any event, thie app is simply the best - highly recommended!
No sound in my filmic pro footages. Tried in audio setting there's no choices. How can be soooo difficult? Tried to email the android support no reply. Im not using filmic pro any more for shooting video, but using default camera (Samsung a52s), my footages all have sounds. I need refund.
Updated latest version released on 23rd May 2022 today i.e. 25th May 2022. After updating I found that in app camera colours on mobile screen showing faded, desaturated, low resolution and lot of noise as though I am shooting in very dark. It was not the case with earlier version of FiLMIC Pro was working very fine. My device is Samsung Note 20 Ultra. When I am using independent camera, mobile phone display screen showing brilliant colours.
When it works, it works great. However I've started to see issues when trying to go into framerates at 60+ with the Wide angle lens on the Galaxy S21. The camera clicks and then refuses to operate. I don't see these issues in the normal camera app, or OpenCam, so something in Filmic is causing some errors. 60+ works fine with the Ultra wide lens though.
The application is rly great, but there is one big problem. Optical image stabilization is not working as supposed to be. There still are a lot of shake, and default app that comes with smartphone works much better with stabilization. If that can be fixed I will rewrite my review.
I'm using Samsung S22 Ultra, but I can't change my lens from ultra wide to wide, the stabilisation not working, and I got the cinematographer kit, recorded in logv3, but the footage looks way oversaturated when playback. Any help and updates for this?
I noticed that the announcement of FiLMiC Pro is now able to connect with zhiyun smooth 5, so I proceed with the purchase of this app. I'm using Samsung Note 10 Plus. I checked with the FiLMiC pro evaluator before i proceed for the purchase of the app, but Too bad, when I connected the smooth 5 with the app, the only functions that I could use are changing the mode of the smooth 5 and the joystick, can't even record.
Very good app! Nothing beats this. Audio is weird though. Sometimes it's proper stereo and sometimes it's summed to mono. I think there should be a toggle to switch between the two. I like both but it keeps changing at random.
I had a problem saving the presets. The support from Filmic was kind enough to tell me what to do and the problem was solved by deleting the cache data, uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Thank you Filmic for this great program.
This app allows a lot of control which I love and highly recommend! However, I have recently updated to a galaxy s22 ultra which is claimed to record at 120 / 240 fps at 1080 FHD. I have used filmic lab as well to attempt to unlock this feature which creates some sort of error. Will there ever be a fix for this? Please address Filmic!
When I open and close the video view or rotate the smartphone, it resets the shutter and ISO. It is enough to open and close the manual settings and the reset occurs again. We already wrote about this on 04/12/2021. You promised to fix it in the next releases, but the problem remains! I find comments from other users since 2018! I am very unhappy that I bought an application in which the developers have not been able to fix a small bug for several years!
Love it so far! The app does everything I wanted for manual video controls and I'm getting more comfortable with it. The fact that we have support for all three lenses at 60fps on the Pixel 6 Pro is great! Only thing I don't see is the option to purchase the optional kit which enabled LOG profiles. Other than that, it's great.
I do like this product. I'd like to keep using it for projects. I just wish the control stop switch between selfie camera and the rear camera was on the main interface. So you can do so while in the middle of a shot if necessary. This one change would help immensely. And maybe some short tutorial info when you click some of the controls the first time.
Hi, I have this app for a while, but only recently I started to play a bit with it. I found it works generally well but still It has a small strange behaviour on my phone. It's about the focus reticle: When I double-tap to activate autofocus, the square reticle is going to be off-center. To correct it, I have to rotate the screen and it jumps to center. Every rotation of the screen with autofocus active will drive the square reticle correctly in center. Instead, if the orientation lock is active, that's impossible. A bit annoying... I use the app on a "Redmi Note 9 Pro".
What every default camera app should be. Full control over framerate, focus, etc. Control of these features should rightfully belong to the user, no matter how "unfriendly" extra text and options may be to idiots' UX - and this app recifies this injustice. HOWEVER! Bugs abound! It does weird stuff to the framerate, and there are other...inconsistencies with the encoding. Unfortunately, I don't have enough info to elaborate (it's not like I am a tester for this app).
Since the app I paid for cannot be updated because of hysterical decisions of whoever did it, the app became useless. And there's no way I could get a refund. I like it but now it makes no sense in having it on my phone and using it. Tara.
Great when it works, "something failed" error pops up nearly every time. "The clip may not get recorded properly, if the problem persists.." then the option to "Reset to default settings" which solves nothing. Same error over and over. This is a paid app and not reliable to use at all.
BEWARE! Not a good app for Samsung s21. Very shaky footage even with the Zhiyun smooth 5 gimbal. Contacted the developer and he said it is the Samsung Team's fault. I asked for a refund since I cannot use this app at all and spent too much money on this USELESS app, but then the developer never came back to me. What a waste of time and money!
Has many great features, however it often times skips frames which can be frustrating. Lowering the playback frame rate is especially prone to frame skips and sometimes it speeds back and forth. If it didn't have these technical issues it would indeed be 5 stars for all the features it provides. As it stands it still is much better than your average camera app so it's worth it. But it needs these bugs fixed.
I purchased Filmic Pro 2 months ago and used it with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Smooth 4 gimbal. Overall experience was good even if I had troubles adjusting white balance. 2 weeks ago, I changed phone for an Xperia 1 MK2 and figured out it was not compatible with all settings. It is stable in full HD only and keep crashing at any higher resolution. It is a pity because I loved the integration with my Smooth 4 Gimble.
