FilmRise - Free Movies & TV

I like this app a lot because for free it offers a well rounded variety including foreign film and documentaries many of which I've never seen and that are of interest to me. I don't care that its offerings are "old school" which I find much better than some of the predictable cookie cutter trash that's been released in theaters for the past 10 or more years. I would have given a 5 star rating, but the major complaint I have is that there are way too many ad interrupts in which the same ad gets repeated at least 5x in a row.

The choice of movies is decent. I'm not adverse to ads, I know how it works and it's necessary to keep it free, but 34 minutes into a movie and we've already had 6 ad breaks! 3 ads at a time, with a loading break between for each ad, and the ads are at least double the volume! It dramatically and detrimentally affects my enjoyment. I find Tubi infinitely more enjoyable with much less frequency, volume, and loading time for their ads.

First, the app does provide a lot of entertainment with commercial interruptions. That would be OK except for one thing. They don't regulate the sound on the commercials. The actual shows have very low sound. Sometimes, I have to crank my TV volume to max just to hear the show and then quickly hit mute when the commercials start.

Very good mix of free movies, series and documentaries. Software is full of bugs and clumsy. Sometimes you can build a queue, sometimes the app malfunctions and you can't add to a queue. The best shows don't show up under any genres. I've only been able to locate them with direct title searches. Where is "Blandings"? Where is "Wycliffe"? All the worst programming is highlighted.

I installed the app a couple of days ago, watched one movie, but now when I try to watch a movie it had to refresh every few seconds, can't make it past a couple of minutes of that before it just becomes not worth watching. But, I do like your movie selections. Maybe it's just my phone having this problem, but I don't have this problem with other movie apps, so I guess I'll uninstall this app and go back to the others.

I gave the app 1 star because of the commercials. They are ridiculous. They are played too often. They are played at an increased volume ( much louder than the program) and at best they are intrusive. They ruin the the viewing experience. I have to reduce the volume when they start and turn the volume back up when the program starts again. They are the reason I don't use this app very often. I watch other apps where the commercials do not assault you.

I really love this app but since this latest update adding the caption option, playback keeps stopping and now with the ads playing during the playback, the screen goes black but you can still hear what's playing. Playback keeps getting interrupted like if it's constantly buffering. I use this app daily. Please fix this and I will definitely change my rating!

The programming is great. The ads are unfortunate and relentless. Quite often, the same ad plays 5 times in a row. Other times, 3 times the same ad, then another one runs twice. It causes me such anxiety that I can't even enjoy a simple show like Highway to Heaven. I think the powers that be can do a lot better. Are they even watching?

Played 2 tv shows alright with a couple of skips here and there. Watched a movie then it said network speed slow and kept starting from the beginning. My equipment is of the best and always up to date. Read the other reviews for similar problems. Better stuff out there. Don't bother. It's trash. Uninstalled.

I like the shows on the app. There's a few bugs that keep this from being one of my favorite apps. 1-fix the audio levels from the show or movie that is set way too low and your commercials that you have the audio set very high expecting people run to the bathroom or out of the room for something. Your commercials are not timed and pop up randomly so this is not necessary. 2-when viewed a series and a pop up commercial happens during the show your app ends that episode and jumps to the ahead.

Its Pretty good. It has lots of movies and TV shows from back in the day. Shows from the 90s and 00s. Been watching kitchen nightmare uncensored, ithe legend of zelda tv show, and Forensic files. There is lots to like in this app. The only thing is that there are too many ads. Like 3 at the most for 30mins, 6 for 45mins. 8 for movie length. If they reduce the apps a little more it would be alot better.

All the lists did not have movie or show names written under them, they are assuming the picture is enough. Unfourtunarly all the pictures were black screens, if you click on them it would bring up the title and description, but noone is going to want to do that if this is a problem they incounter. Perfect for ??? Movie night where you dont know what movie it is you click though. Uninstaling and reinstaling did not fix the issue, or and type of deep cleaning, or freeing up more space.

positive notes is that it has a lot of movies to choose from, free, and great picture quality. the negative is there is WAY too many ads. it's like every 15 minutes and then ads pop up. takes hours to finish a movie. the volume of the ads are super loud.

Good selection ... I installed this on my smart tv. The only thing I cannot get off is the closed captioning. I looked on my TV and the closed captioning is off , and I don't see any sort of settings to turn this off. I Googled and couldn't find anything either. Please help. To me, the closed captioning is very annoying

We have this app on our ruko. It's a good app except too many commercial breaks when watching a movie. I tried watching a movie today I swear every 10-15 minutes was a commercials. Not just 1 like 3-5 commercials. It gets annoying especially when getting into the movie. I understand you need adds but Wish you'd make less breaks.

I have changed my rating back to one star. Everything worked great for a couple weeks, then the past week it has gone back to the "no content available" on almost everything. A few movies are available, but there are so many shows I want to watch. Please fix it again and do whatever it takes to keep it fixed. Thank you

Hated this app. Tolerated watching 3 seasons of a series because only place I could find the show. App has limited capabilities. Most annoying were ads. Could not skip. Same 5 ads repeated 5x each 25 minute show multiplied by 75 episodes was excruciating. 2nd most annoying. the episodes would not play in order. You had to search manually with remote for next number in sequence then hit play. Finished series. Deleted app.

after watching an episode or more of Midsomer Murders, I turned off FilmRise. When I returned the content was unavailable. After unintalling and reinstalling multiply times, I decided the trouble wasnt worth it. I've noticed in other reviews this seems to a big issue. Until this is fixed I'll not change my grade for this app.

It's free and it works . I haven't had any issues . You find abstract movies you wouldn't normally find on the subscription sites . Pleansent experience, easy to use on TV , Xbox , PC ,tablet and mobile devices . All my products used are andriod, so I am just talking about my experience with andriod.

This seems pretty nice. My 2017 LG TV has the webOS version of Filmrise, but it no longer works. You select one, but the screen turns black. At least I can use this app with Chromecast and play them on TV that way EDIT Thanks for the response, I'll look into it, good for now

movies still crash, commercials still shut down movies have to restart movies some movies don't play at all, we the people like Filmrise free movies & tv we think it's great thank you, but the only problem is the bugs are back please if you can fix this we'll be watching great shows again, on behalf of the crew and myself please keep up the great work thank you. stujasfarm

Good FREE Content Streaming App. Just gotta get used to the ads all the time... Usually they're not too long, but they do repeat the same ones back to back which does get a lil nerve racking...But worth it if dont want to pay for subscription...Good range of content... LOTS to choose from. Just depends on if u can deal with the comercials or not. Kind of like watching cable on tv.... ⭐⭐⭐ COMPLETELY FREE!

This app is constantly buffering or loading when you use it. I have full bars on my phone and still it buffers. sometimes it even has complete errors when I'm using it. It also does this on my roku at home with superfast wifi. please fix these issues. I would love to give this company five stars but I cant right now.

Filmrise usually works well for me, but today, not working at all. Please fix! Usually would give a better rating, but not today. Update: It now works fine, but not giving you more stars, because you keep running the same ad! If you are going to show ads, at least you could show a variety, instea of the same one, over and over and over and.....

Without a doubt the worst movie app out there ..plays about 8 minutes of a movie..then as many as 8 commercials...then another 7 minutes of film followed by another 5 or 6 commercials ..over and over...runs over 45 minutes of ads in one 89 minute film...complete trash...

It seems like it would be a great app for movies except it keeps buffering while watching anything. Very annoying to say the least. Please fix this bug. It certainly isn't my wifi because the signal is perfect. I would change to 5 stars if this bug is fixed.

Other than constantly freezing up I like the programming and I understand the need for commercials since they are what supports Filmrise and keeps them in business, but MUST THEY BE SO OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD and why the same annoying commercials over and over so frequently? Three minutes of commercials for five minutes of programming. Tubitv is a similar app but there commercials are less frequent and don't scream at you.

UPDATE!!! I uninstalled the app, decided to wait a few days before reinstalling it on my Samsung Galaxy A7 tablet. There haven't been any issues. Thanks for fixing it.

I tried watching ur movies again, but that break music is so annoying!! & so monotonous!! It just goes on, & on, & on, & on.. The many ads don't bother me bit that music does & It wears on ur nerves!! Silence is fine!! Get rid of that music & I can watch ur movies.

This app was great until recently, but in the past month, shows and movies won't chromecast properly. They always buffer and break between 1-10 minutes into the stream. I wish this was fixed so I could enjoy my favourite shows again.
