Horrible balance. Some character groups are so bad that you have to grind to progress in the story. Some groups are so good that you breeze through their story. Story is eh, gameplay is brutal at times, graphics is eh, music is classic, too many characters and not enough development. Game feels nostalgia but the game is a shell of FF4.
Man this is worth 15 bucks and then some really. I think this port was well done for the most part. If you factor in the hours of gameplay you will get out this it really is worth the click esp if you played the one that comes before this one and loved it. The ONLY reason you didnt get five stars is because my screen wont rotate at all when the game is playing and that is annoying.
The only direct sequel to a Final Fantasy game that was ever done right. I do highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys the classic FF games. 3 stars though because no cloud save on a mobile RPG, cameo bosses were cut, and post-game challenges were cut, but then 4 stars again because the Bands system was VASTLY, VASTLY improved.
The game itself is good as a DLC for FFIV. Nothing less, nothing more. But the lack of cloud saving is ridiculous. Fix that ASAP! I want to play in my tablet and phone. Also, I dont wanna lose my progress when I buy a new phone.
Square Enix you are getting lazy, its been soo long since you updated the version. It could have become smoother with a little bit graphic upgrade. It been reflecting old version for soo long. Am a avid fan of all FF series been playing from FF1 till recent over and over again. Just saf d man....
I love FFIV remake , but i hate this remake. The pace and style is too slow and boring. I really dislike the chapter style for each character. There isnt much level design in each chapter to encourage exploration game is extremely linear.
Passable RPG, but mostly asset reuse from FF4. You'll spend 27 hours running through the same dungeons 7 or 8 times with very few interesting or original plot points. The final chapters are very good though.
it's sad to see so many options available within final fantasy 4, then this one takes a back seat. no controller support and no cloud saves are about the largest disappointments. too bad Squenix wouldn't update this one.
I just bought the app wishing to play this jewl from my childhood... but after installing and opening it. a black screen informing this app is for an older Android OS and that it wont work on my device prompted me to the app store to search an update or refund the game....since there was no update I choose the refund. it seems weird though since the ff1,2,3 and 5 apps I already have never showed me this window. hope they fix it
Loved the After Years Complete Collection on PSP. This 3D port is pretty cool. If you liked it in 2D and want to play it in 3D then get it. Wish it had controller support! Come on Sony!
The game was listed as being $6.99 + tax but I my card was charged 14.99 + tax (16.32) and was unable to get a refund (tried within the 48 hr window) or contact anyone to get a correction for the over charge. The game was enjoyable but feel I havebbeen robbed and eventhough I folled refund directions couldn't connect with help
Why android version of "Final Fantasy IV: The After Years" different from iphone version (IOS)? No update (old version) and more importantly "NO 3D Cutscene/film scene".. The scene is important for the game to enrich game experience.. Please add the 3D cinematic scene and please update the game (like newer android version of Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV).. Like Playstation Portable (PSP) version too (much complete with 3D cutscene)..
bought the game without thinking.... I thought it has controller support or the tap like FF3... the control is horrible. regret the purchase. please patch this game with proper touch control.
Overall great game...just wish it had the same final dungeon layout as the psp version. I really liked the challenge, and the bosses from other games.
I was enjoying this game... Then Android updated on my device. Now I get a screen informing me there game is for an older version. Please fix this, Square Enix. I livestream your games, I've supported your company ever since the SNES with literal thousands of dollars. Bloody Christ, just fix it.
Excellent gameplay and cool rendition. Major drawback though is no cloud save, which is available for the main ff4 game.
It was a good experience until I got to the horrendous drop rates(mindflayer summon) now it just wont even start. I would really love to finish this if yall would fix it for me?
I wish it were updated for the newer Android devices. I would like to be able to sync my save data to Google and play on my tablet
No real storyline. Maps, bosses and backgrounds are all recycle from final fantasy IV. It really feels like square enix is making fun of it's customers...
Please add widescreen + controller support to match FFIV (3D). This is a beautiful version of TAY otherwise.
Very disappointed! I am stuck in the lunar subterrane, nowhere else to go, no guide available on the internet. Many hours down the drain. Trying for days and there is nowhere else to go. Has anyone finished this game?
Game kept crashing and never could get it to load on my google chromebook. Was really looking forward to it
App says that it is using a older of android and may cause errors..... Will not even load on tablet. Please update so it is playable.
Couldn't progress, got to a point where going further was impossible. Regardless of leveling up.
Quality graphics, classic music, overall great design, great additional features including the save. The one major flaw in the game. There are several pivotal points in the game that are impossible to replay. So if you finished Ceodore's story and missed an item, it is forever gone. The only way to get back is completely replay the section of the game then restart the Crystal story. That would require more than 20 hours to replay it back to where you were.
