FINAL FANTASY VI

FINAL FANTASY VI -
- now on Android!
FINAL FANTASY VI first debuted in 1994 as the sixth installment in the iconic FINAL FANTASY series. Innovations included the ability to play all the main characters as the game's protagonist, and to this day, its epic story intertwining each of their fates is still highly rated and wildly popular. The characters' dramatic performances are also highly rated, including the catastrophe occurring midway through, which delivers a particular emotional jolt to players.

With plenty of abilities available and the magicite system for controlling spells/summoning, players can develop their characters any way they want. This was also the first FINAL FANTASY game to include the Ultima Weapon, the most powerful sword of all and a recurring item in subsequent titles within the series.

StoryThe War of Magi left little but ashes and misery in its wake. Even magic itself had vanished from the world. Now, a thousand years later, humankind has remade the world through the power of iron, gunpowder, steam engines, and other machines and technologies.

But there is one who possesses the lost power of magic--a young girl name Terra whom the evil Empire has kept enslaved in an effort to harness her power as weapon. This leads to a fateful meeting between Terra and a young man named Locke. Their harrowing escape from the Empire's clutches sets in motion a series of events that touches countless lives and leads to one inevitable conclusion.

Unfortunately I never got to play FFVI on its original platform. So this is my first time playing it. I do not like the User Interface, It looks cheap and tasteless. I think it'd be a lot nicer looking if it were more like pixel-esque as opposed to the bubbly appearance it currently has. Other than that I think it's the best Final Fantasy on the Mobile

The original is one of my favorite games of all time. This version maintains *much* of what made it that way. The controls are admittedly not great, but the main reason for the low rating is that this game cannot be completed, at least on my device (1st Gen Pixel) In Imperial Camp, crashes immediately upon entering a tent. In Magitek Factory, crashes during cutscene. Others have reported the same issues on different hardware. App support at squenix has not been able to help, so...I'm left with an un-completable version of one of my favorite games. Neat.

I just decided to play this again. Well, now the game decided it needs another vacation before the big bad showdown. Not going to spoil it. The game crashes everytime after forming the three teams and after screen blacks out to enter the tower. I had already beaten the game, but would like to play through the "showdown" again. Well there is still the post game that hasnt been completed yet.

I saw some bad reviews on this... Honestly not sure what they expected. The story characters and pacing are off the charts. Music sets the mood well, and the graphics are acceptable. There are some wonky control issues but cell phones aren't exactly designed for good controls. Honestly the blitz commands are a little easier to use than the original. There are some design choices I would have done differently (the exit to title screen button appears immediately under your finger after you save)

This is one of the very best Final Fantasies. The characters, the story and the music are amazing and bring back beautiful childhood memories. I'm having a blast playing it again. Thankfully, it runs smoothly on my Galaxy 10 phone. My only complaint is that the walking controls are very clumsy and drive me nuts. Other than that, it's a perfect game.

Just finished FF9 and it was an amazing port!!! This one however leaves a bit to be desired. Joystick movement is very clunky and there is a bit of lag. It was perfectly playable however and It is still the game we all know and love. I switched from the atb gauge system and played in classic mode because it was hard to get used to how they set it up.

5 stars if not for the bugs. was about to get out of magiteck factory when the game crashed on my one plus 3t. this was during a cut scene and i could get around it (even after reboot). the game has crashed multiple times before but thankfully the quick save let me resume from last screen. luckily i have a Samsung tablet, i downloaded the game there and use the cloud save feature to move past. it's a great game but i hate seeing all the crashes

Game consistently crashes at the imperial camp. It has worked on other phones. My phone is a xperia model f5121. So think before you get this game. Oh also Cyan's reworked mechanic is bugged to hell, amongst other things. Same with the music, only version that has the proper music transitions is on the SNES. So if you want to play this great game, get the SNES.

I've really enjoyed replaying this game in this format. This is a solid port with a good UI and the updated GBA script. The combat programming is unique and adds a new element of challenge in a good way. And the music is a remaster of the original. My only real gripe is the character movement feeling unnecessarily clunky.

The graphics are fine, you definitely get used to them, the main issue lies in the controls. The problem is that the movement is based on tiles, so you can't move incrementally. This creates a very jarring overall experience, and it's a shame because I was hoping for the same smooth experience I had with the mobile remaster of 5. This can be remedied through the use of a controller (which is thankfully supported) but this shouldn't have to be an issue.

The game itself is as good as ever but sometimes the game will slow down during some cutscenes and, to me at least, the art style looks bad, some might like it so if you like it the lag might be the only problem. (This is just my experience with it, also the price is a little much.)

Stuck at the Opera House. Music doesn't match visuals. Can't finish Maria's solo. Won't let me climb stairs like you're supposed to. It's the most beautiful part of the game and it freezes. I've played this game tons of times and the app gets it wrong. Not sure about the visuals. Try it but you'll get stuck somewhere and then you'll have wasted your money.

Play is good. Edited down to 3 stars for two reasons. 1. As I play, the poor walking controls are becoming increasingly frustrating. 2. This version has a lot of dialog edited from the SNES original and some animations cut out to be more 'pc'. The auto battle function is a nice addition to quickly get through all of the grinding... and even does sabins last blitz. Sabins blitz is easier to use too.

Alright, so what's with the screen? You guys charge about as much for the mobile versions of your games as we paid for the physical copy upon release, and you give us a tiny little screen in the middle of our device with a funky border on the sides..? Get real... There should be an option to remove that... I'm not tryin to pay $16 for a tiny little screen to play on. There should also be something in the option menu to switch between the remodeled graphics and the classic. I'm not impressed...

Very enjoyable and the only way I've been able to enjoy this this classic. Only problem I've encountered is during the opera scene, the touch screen controls are unfriendly due to the time constraints of the mission, certainly doable but you must move flawlessly which is very hard.

Update: Tried playing this again on a new phone. No crashes at the places I said I was crashing at. Currently in the WoR with no problems. Im not sure if square patched it, or if its the new phone's hardware. Either way its working for me. Only real complaint now is the touch direction controls...but I dont think that can be helped.

I really enjoyed the extra espers and The Dragon's Den. I still prefer the SNES sprites though. There are some parts of the game where a controller would offer better control where movement is a factor (such as Gogo's den). Overall, worth the price and good for several re-plays. The new names vs SNES names for various things does provide some confusion (Cura vs Cure 2).

One of the best Final Fantasy games! Although I prefer the old graphics, these new ones didn't bother me too much once I got immersed in the story and gameplay. The latter can sometimes be too easy (if you know what you're doing), and there isn't a lot of challenge in general, but it is still a really enjoyable game that I would recommend to all fans of JRPGs.

The nostalgia is big with this game, back in the early 2000s I brought an OG PS1 with a copy of FF6, I never liked FF during those days but getting FF6 brought me to the FF world and I've never looked back with bad memories, now having FF6 on phone I love it and enjoy playing as often as i can. But the only major draw back is the game "requiring" an internet connection to even load up, PLEASE take that feature out as it's hindering the offline play capability of the game
