The app takes 2 min to load after the recent update. When I've ran into graphical glitches, I tried to submit reports to the customer support, and there is generally no response. When I got response about an app specific error, I was told to just not use the app (use the website in the internet browser). One example, the images as seen in the screenshots do not load. If this was a direct function on a browser, we could clear cache and cookies, but this is a separate application. I want to like this app especially since my school has a subscription for the student body, but the user interface and customer feedback is dismal
In general, I love firecracker as a service. However I think the andriod app could still use some work. It's gotten better in recent updates but the interface is still clunky and occasionally some functions just straight up don't work. It's still usable but it's disappointing and unacceptable that the IPad app works so much better in 2019.
some people really throw shade at FC, but I think if you are determined to take full advantage of it, its really great. the app is has the read to me feature which is amazing sincd i can do cards while on the road. theres definitely several bugs that need fixing (eg if you try to look at a note you took for a given card the app always shuts down), but by and large a fantastic addition to youe arsenal of study tools. it's really kept me on top of MS1 material over the summer.
The app is wonderful for med school and the content material really helps when I'm studying for tests. The only downside I have is that it constantly logs you out of the app on your phone and will jot allow you to log back in. I have had to change my password 3 times since downloading this app, and if it wasn't so good content wise, I would have uninstalled it for the hassle. I don't have a problem with the app on my iPad so maybe it's just not that compatible with android devices.
Terrible experience-breaking bug where it flashes at a seizure-inducing frequency when you are doing flashcards. I have gotten in touch with tech support who took down my information and said they would look into it but that was weeks ago and it hasn't been fixed.
Honestly, a horrible app. Half of the functionalities don't work properly, and the topics under a given stem never all load where they are supposed to. The website is better, but even the pure content and style (without regards to the app problems) is at best a 3 out of 5. There are many better resources. I only have it because my school makes me
When you show the answer in the review questions, the screen shakes. Sometimes highlighting part of the text will stop this and sometimes it doesn't. Highly distracting and makes the app useless for quick on the go review.
The content is very helpful, but lots of flashcards stopped working. It will ask a question and say something like, "we list 5 answers". When you try to view the answers, it lists only one or two. I'm using a pixel 2xl.
The content of firecracker is nice but this app is terrible. For the last year the app forces me to log in each time... when I enter in my information it says that the password is incorrect... when I close the app and open it again I am magically logged in. I hardly use the app and I prefer to log in on my computer. Please fix this.
changed from 3 stars to 1 star. Firecracker on android has become completely unstable recently and freezes, shuts down and intermittently refuses to properly display pictures. Garbage!
There are so many seemingly good review resources out there, and firecracker seems to be helping me. I do like that it's indexed (for the most part) to Pathoma, First aid and Sketchy. I also like that it builds review flash cards off questions you miss in the Q bank.
Its one of the best for usmle preparation and memorization and you can learn anywhere even while travelling in train or in your office whenever you get time and concepts are easy to remember and user friendly ... Go for it .
My only complaint is that bullet points aren't shown well on the app compared to the desktop version, but it is still a wonderful resource for clinical rotations!
Content appears out if order making it confusing to read. The pictures will sometimes not even show up. Otherwise, the questions work well
Great way to get a little studying in whenever the opportunity presents itself. Runs well and provides decent mobile functionality.
Extremely slow and glitchy. Used to be a quick and convenient method of revising on the go.
Loved the app! The topics and questions help me go through each topic swiftly. I can study in the bus, in the waiting area, in a room full of people just with this app! I'm addicted to it
Fix the update. Now when I am doing my questions through the app you block off the majority of the text answer and for some you can't even scroll down to see the rest. You charge too much money for that type of incompetence.
as far as i can tell, the long-standing flickering issue has been fixed for Android. thank you developers!
It used to work great. Website still works just fine, but now the app doesn't load topics. Tried uninstall and reinstall - no improvement.
Excellent tool to prep for day-to-day coursework and for Step Exams! Easy to customize as you progress through courses ensuring you focus only on topics you've covered.
Many flashcards no longer work on Pixel 2. Android app has consistently had issues not present in the ios version.
I have enjoyed using firecracker with usmle/comlex studies. It has helped with keeping things fresh in my memory.
Love the app, but there's a flashing glitch on revealing answers which makes the app nearly unusable.
So far loving it, giving it four of five stars because there is a problem with the scrolling mechanism when "showing answers"
Constant flickering of flashcards. This has been occurring for weeks with no solution
The app is fine except for the bugs and design flaws here and there. One of the biggest things to watch out for is that it is not able to save your progress offline. If you do 50 cards but you leave that mode before the internet comes back then prepare to see them all again soon. Most of the other glitches are minor, annoying but don't really change the overall app experience.
