Firefly Cortex

Be aware that if you do not pay the measly five bucks to unlock everything, this is pretty useless, but doing so unlocks a bunch of cool things that are for Firefly fans of any stripe to enjoy. Plus of course some very cool unlocks for the upcoming game, which almost seem worth it alone.

It is largely useless because at its core it is supposed to be an informational companion to the full game. The developer has not provided any information updates via this app in over a year. They also link to social media in this app but no updates there either. The problem isn't the app itself which worked well, the problem is with the developer who seemed to forget the app exists.

But since I switched from a Note 2 to a Note 5, for some reason the text in the maps and other spots have become miniscule. It is really hard to play the mini game when you can't read where you're supposed to go or which system is what. Not sure what happened. Note 2 had really good sized font. Note 5 it's like 4 point Arial font for me.

I love the Cortex. I have it on my computer at home, and it works beautifully. However, since a certain update about a year ago (2.1, if I remember right), I haven't been able to play it on my Galaxy S3. This is very disappointing because I don't have access to my computer much anymore, and I've got a lot of catching up to do. I'd love it to work on my phone again.

Devs never resolved or even attempted to make right the issues with crates from over a year ago. The only "updates" are sporadic notices saying 'we are still here.' If that's true there is no proof of it. This endeavour is pretty much vaporware. At least they had the decency to remove ways to send them money so no one is spending cash on a black hole of nothing.

I use this app quite a bit. Not just for the Brownie Points; I like using the amazing 3D interactive map when playing the Cortex Plus Firefly RPG, as well. Aside from wondering when the heck the actual game will ever come out, I'm super curious about the difference between Rare and Common cards. For instance, why do I have 12, 13 and 14 copies of some "Rare" cards but only 2 or 3 copies of many "Common" cards from the same series? What determines the rarity of these cards? Otherwise, I enjoy the app.

I've been a member of the Cortex for quite some time. I wanted to say I find it morbidly amusing that in August 2015, they put out a news post saying how amazing BP would be in the game... once it came out. September 2015, they 'admit defeat' and close it down. You mean that merely one month before, they had no idea they were going under, and the shiny awesome given to their imaginary coins wasnt a last ditch effort for some cash before closing the doors? Cortex... you broke the hearts of many browncoats with your bs. I imagine that karma will be knocking sometime down the road.

Installed and registered, when prompted to choose from free or BDH, chose BDH and nothing happened. Locked out of any option to purchase BDH pack and everything but the news page.

Used to love this app and be extremely excited about the game it was building up to, but the company has had complete radio silence since September 2015. It's still fun to go through missions every now and then, but it is not really worth anything or building to anything. Disappointing that they dropped off the map!!

How I play this game won't event open for play I created the account with password and still not let Mr do nothing plz fix it

Their support gave me a 4 month runaround with no results. How hard is it to make sure customers can actually play a game they paid for? Got a refund from Google and will avoid these guys in the future. I was very excited about the concept but the execution right now is abysmal.

I fell for the cash grab. They took my money that was supposed to go toward development of the Firefly Online game, and then they scrapped the game. Fool me once... Never again.

This is a fine companion app for a game that at this point, I suspect won't ever see the light of day. It's a bummer, but I suppose it's strangely appropriate for a Firefly game to disappear too soon. :)

I didn't buy the upgrade right away and now I can't find a way to buy it. The trading Post only has the series in it.

This was a great app when it started. Since then it has dwindled and died away. Very disappointing. This could have been a great thing.

Paid for BDH, got access to some "exclusives" (hint: actor interview videos that can be found elsewhere) and the full Map of the Verse to earn all the BP I want... no news on the game since September and devs never answered my wave from December. Again, good for what it is, but it isn't much.

When I heard this game was starting I was elated! I have been a huge Firefly / Serenity fan for years. But seriously? There's not been an update since September of 2015! It's just the same thing every single day! FOR OVER A YEAR! If this game is never going to get off the ground, let us know so we can stop wasting our time checking it!

This was a great companion app to a game that never happened. The servers for the app have been shut down, and much like the show it's just a memory. :(

Signed up to be a BDH the second I could. Great tribute app for Browncoats everywhere. A great primer for what's coming! Keep on flying guys!

A nice way to get to know the firefly universe before the game comes out.

I declined to buy the BDH pack when I registered and now I don't see an option to buy it anywhere.

What this IS... is a massive failure that was birthed stillborn. Such promise, such high hopes... money given to see the project through... and for what? Nothing.

Had to delete it, after restarting my phone as there was no way to exit the app whatsoever
