Amazing! Address bar at the bottom is something strange but that makes a lot of sense: do not need to move the finger to the top of the screen to type. Nice menu and all the features I like! -- Edit since last update in June 2020 The new tab opening process is worse than the previous one! -- Edit since last update July 2020 Crashing and can't be open!
It's pretty good, easy to use, really good design etc... But it miss some things : - Adding a new search engine - As basic FireFox, adding some widget, like adblockers (maybe it's not good for privacy, so it's wise choice to not put them, I don't know, tell if it is) - We don't have acces to a lot of parameters, it miss a lot of things I know it's a preview. I prefer saying this to help you, instead of just yelling and quitting, I will use it (even if I prefer Focus) Great jobs :p! Continue
Good all in one browser. It is fast and pretty. My main gripe with this app is that it does not support extensions, and extensions are one of Firefox main advantages over the others concurrents. Also, I'd like to have the ability to automatically clear my history on close up. Waiting for updates...
As of today, it's a nice redesign (URL bar at the bottom!) and feels faster but its missing some features of the old negates the benefits for me: (1) add-ons, mainly for reasonable ad blocking; (2) bookmark keywords: currently they do not expand, and I use them a lot, speed is irrelevant if I need to navigate through more pages to get there; (3) (better) autofill: relies on lockwise which would be OK if not for the fact that it doesn't trigger on some websites where normal Firefox does.
Seems great! I think you can still improve the feeling with a few tricks like opening the keyboard right away when we open the app. Opera touch is great for these kind of things. Also the app takes way too much space... I hope you'll be able to reduce its size! I'm confident otherwise :)
Its nice, but there are some features needed. (WillBePostedOnMozillaWebsite) 1: Right-click should be a option for devices connected to a mouse or touchpad. 2: Make it so we can have tablet+ size screens have the option to pin select extensions to the adress bar (Both up & down) for easy use. 3: Can we have an option for desktop site everywhere (cuz chrome os) no extensions? But overall, its pretty good. Thanks, Mozilla!
Firefox for Android used to be by far the best mobile browser available. However, it has actively regressed over the years: stability is now horrendous and almost all customization options have been removed (about:config is only available on Nightly now), while the UI has replaced information density with vast tracts of wasted space. Gets two stars for supporting uBlock Origin.
it is very good but we hope this will be a proper counterpart of it's desktop version. first thing, it need more extension support . second, the interface should be more compatible and efficient for tablets. I can't ask you will have to copy Safari newest version but at least the address bar and menu bar isn't that great and it causes many serious discords with gestures.
The ability to load any Firefox extension you want, even if not officially supported (or even if it doesn't work properly), on its own makes this a 4+-star browser. It's also nice that there's a significant non-Chromium browser on the market, as monopolies are always bad. It's very stable despite being a nightly version, and it defaults to putting the tab bar on the correct edge of the screen (bottom) ;)
It's a good private browser. If you can tolerate the occasional crashes. But lately, maybe this month or so and this exists in the latest version also, it's been crashing a lot. Like 2 times a day. Could it be because I've too many tabs open?
Powerful but flawed ergonomics. New tab pops up the keyboard which replaces tabs icon with mic input, bookmarks can't be accessed with a swipe at the side of the screen, synced bookmarks end up several folders deep without ability to move them at all, bookmark collections are tricky to manage, if there's an app for some page it will suggest that and remove the option to simply bookmark it to home screen,... In short, Firefox still looks and feels like none of it's developers actually use it.
Crashes a lot. Still have to change to chrome for some sites. Not enough customisation options, even with about:config available. Few addons available, but still better than the ordinary version.
adding desktop extensions is an amazing feature , love it!! , just gotta be made easier than making an account and adding custom extensions to a list etc...... i know its cause they may not work perfectly but atleast make it a more user friendly option but give us a warning
It's an amazing browser with extension support too and many great features! My only complaint is that it's a bit slower than all of my other browsing apps, maybe thats just the extensions I have on, and if that is the case, then I guess I don't have too much to complain about.
Great browser (which actually supports very many desktop add-ons which is fantastic). Missing some customization features when it comes to the toolbar (address bar) but other than that no complaints.
Finally, search in history and bookmarks. But STILL THREE ISSUES, 2 of which I've been complaining about since it was Firefox Preview. You've been playing around with new twiddles I don't care about and not sorting out fundamentals. 1 Desktop Firefox needs collections for Android Firefox to sync with - without that collections are useless to me. 2 'Scan' search through rear camera STILL shows the view upside down on my phone which makes it unusable - some phones have the camera sensor upside down due to physical limitations inside case, and according to the Camera 2 API apps using the camera are always SUPPOSED to check through the API which way up the sensor is, and rotate view 180 where the sensor is the other way up to usual: on my phone Edge does search through camera right, Google Chrome does it right, Firefox fails badly. 3 You need to FULLY ADDRESS providing top controls when toolbar is set to TOP: when it is set to top the tabs tray and back and forward navigation trays should ALWAYS open ALL THE WAY UP so when there are just a few tabs they are brought to the top of the screen by the top toolbar as it does when there are a lot of tabs, not left down low as if toolbar bottom was chosen, and there should be a control to open a new tab at the TOP of the tab tray when toolbar is set to top. Having an option that moves the toolbar to the top but leaves everything else at the bottom is dreadful. Points 2 especially leaves Firefox mobile trailing behind the mobile versions of Edge and Chrome, both of which manage a scan through my rear camera with the view the right way up. And Edge syncs collections between mobile and desktop. Shame on you after all this time. No wonder Firefox user base keeps shrinking when you don't fix the basics. And for me I always pick phone and desktop browser together - if you don't sort out mobile Firefox you'll lose me as a desktop Firefox user too.
The best browser in terms of extensions(add-ons). You can use almost all of the extensions available on firefox desktop. You might run into certain bugs which you should report to the mozilla team so they can fix it.
The upcoming Manifest V2 depreciation, and the on-going machinations by Google at sabotaging tools used to claim back user privacy, and wrestling control away by dictating policies across the web with the Juggernaut that is Chrome has led me to turn my infrequent use of Firefox into a permanent one. The Firefox nightly is at the bleeding edge and features like custom addon collection allows the usage of extensions that are not on Android yet. A few tweaks to config and settings make it the best
Won't let me download straight to external storage. l've tried every method listed online, none work. I'm sick of getting "download failed" because I don't have room on my phone, but most of the time, I don't get any prompt to use an external downloader, even though I turned on the option in settings. This is a basic feature available in nearly every other browser out there, yet Moz doesn't seem to care.
Please tablet version with tabs ui. Please if can have away to send unsent crashe reports like I can on my... Firefox Nightly and asan build 64 bit windows 11 laptop. Please keyboard only keyboard and, trackpad, trackpad only shortcuts, away to save history or not like you can on desktop version, deleat history, away to save webpages offline viewing , tablet version with tabs.
Solid consistent performance for being a nightly build, I like the GUI and the color schemes that are used. Also has some good add-ons and unique settings options. Great browser!
SWIPING not as good as chrome, no print option, addons are a pain in the rear and need to have easier adding to the mobile browser, no casting option despite enabling in config. You are forced to use nightly because stable version lacks even more basic features. Needs work! I submit bugs regularly but each nightly update remains unchanged. This can be raised to 5 with proper corrections..
It crops videos poorly when trying to watch videos on YouTube in landscape mode. Almost bottom 20% is gone. I tried clearing data and doing it again on fresh install, but still got the same result Edit: it does not happen with all videos but with videos with horizontally longer aspect ratio videos
Should have a option to close the tabs right after you close the browser, not only in incognito mode. The minimum option is to close tabs after a week. Also in the Seach By Image extension it should search for the image right after we long-press a image and we press a button in the context menu, and not by going in the extension menu everytime to search for the image. It may also depend on the extention maker to do it, but it's a good suggestion that would save a lot of time.
Tab manager is aweful. It should focus on the current tab when pops up, this never happens when you have more than 5-6 tabs. Also the way it handles content-types is stupid. In chrome for example, if it doesn't find a proper handling app, it tries to open it in browser (think of an rss feed for example). And it outsources to android whether you want it happen or not (e.g. in a feed reader). But firefox immediately shows you download dialogue. I don't need a .rss file on my phone storage, guys.
One of main browsers on the mobile. Still misses one most important thing from desktop version: HTTPS only mode in all windows, to do it i have to open about:config and type "dom.security.https_only_mode" then toogle it to true. Would be nice if Mozilla add option to add other search engines like on the desktop version, just by visiting site and clicking "magnifying glass" icon.
World's best browser. The customization is best in class, as are the available add-ons, privacy features, and multitasking. Most importantly, it suggests bookmarks first in the search bar (Chrome suggests bookmarks last, with no way to change this).
I'm so glad that Firefox is releasing a great mobile browser at last! This one is amazingly fast, it starts up very quickly and page load time is impressive. Personally I think it's faster than Chrome and Opera. Ergonomy is nice and straight to the point. Everything is at the bottom (URL, settings, tabs...) which is great as my finger is too small to reach the top of the screen. Ads/trackers are blocked. My only criticism is that I'd love to see which ads/trackers have been blocked in detail.
