Utterly useless. A few weeks ago I needed to take a bus. Missed the first one because the mtickets app couldn't connect to the server. I thought it was due to my connection but stop couldn't connect before the second one arrived. Turns out the server was down. Had to pay the inflated on-board price instead. Then today, I wanted to take another bus. App allows me to put tickets into basket, but there are no buttons to but the basket. Some blank areas of the top of the screen work as buttons (back to main menu, etc.) , but I can't find anywhere to actually buy a ticket. Caught a Stagecoach bus instead. If you're going to penalise people for paying on the bus, at least make sure the app works.

Slow to start, frequently crashes on launch (on my new galaxy note 9). Hard to change regions when buying tickets (between Bath and Bristol), no explanation of the difference in tickets, drivers can't assist as they don't understand it either, can't get a refund if you accidentally activate but don't use the wrong ticket type. Would be better if it also provided an integrated transport experience with end to end navigation and live bus times when waiting at a stop.

This app is quite good but sometimes it disappears and says first has stopped. It comes back a few minutes later but not convenient if I'm getting on a bus. Also I never wanted this in the first place, I want 3 month tickets on paper in case the phone gets lost or broken. The app keeps asking me to rate it again which is unnecessary. I will add that I find it difficult to keep the ticket up on my screen while waiting for a bus.

This app is really useful for people that, are on the go and use the service daily. However, more than once, its glitched out on me, and I've had to uninstall and reinstall it, to gain access to my tickets. This happened right as I was getting on the bus one day in February, and I had to pay out £4, to get my bus, even though I had bought a week long ticket. Hopefully this bug gets fixed, although I haven't experienced it in roughly two months now, so the devs might have solved this one bug.

the app is filled with bugs and quite unresponsive when opening. The most annoying thing is that if you have bought a year ticket, it will disappear from time to time whenever the time zone changes. The company then had the audacity to blame us for changing the time on our phone when it does it automatically ... It's a huge battery drainer: just having it opened for 30 seconds when boarding the bus consumes almost 5% of my battery...

This app is perfect except for its reliance on a net connection. This is especially irritating if the bus has WiFi as your phone will try to connect to it. But you have to sign in before the bus WiFi is usable! This makes things really slow. My advice is to get to the screen where you can start using your ticket before the bus comes along and then turn off all internet, WiFi and data, until you're on the bus.

This app isn't suitable for modern hi-res smartphones, because the resolution is so high on these phones that the QR Code is too small for the scanners on the bus to read easily. It takes real practice to make it work and most of the time the drivers just push the button to bypass it. I see this issue every day with plenty of different passengers so I know it's not just me. This was never a problem on my old iPhone 5 which had a lower res screen and the code was therefore larger.

actually normally works pretty well, had no complaints about it for ages. but lately its started to randomly stop working. as in its just refusing to open. most of the time its just annoying, but once or twice its really left me in a lurch when i don't have cash with me. each time the only solution is to uninstall, and then reinstall the app. not something you can just do on the fly!

This app is about as reliable as the buses it supports. Whilst useful if you don't need to get anywhere by a specific time, with regular crashes when you need it, and regularly needing internet access, even after your ticket is downloaded, it leaves you with a sense of being let down. On the plus side, when it does work, it makes travelling by bus easier, and the tickets are cheaper on app. Pros: -Cheaper bus fairs on app -Makes ticket purchasing easier Cons: -Regularly crashes -Unreliable

It's OK The main incentive for using the app is cheaper bus fares, but the interface isn't very user friendly and you need to download a separate app to get bus times. Also some routes don't appear in searches (unless I'm doing it wrong - Because the interface is unwieldy). Still seems to do the job ok though in the end.

I hate this app - plain & simple. It takes ages to load & often returns to main page when trying to scan so is not any quicker to get on the bus. It's managed to lose my yearly ticket which costs more than a month's rent & runs until November! I want to go back to when they had a paper option as it was so much easier & I managed to never lose that in 5 years. Technology is wonderful when it works but this app doesn't & just causes me stress.

Mad. B. May 23, 2019

Works adequately, when it works. Once a month, the app doesnt open and you are unable to access your ticket, which is incredibly frustrating when you're trying to catch a bus. The only way I've managed to "fix" this is uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Layout is frustrating, and slow to load. Paper tickets would be more reliable.

Absolutely awful and completely infuriating! The most glitchy app I've used. Doesn't appear to let you do anything the first time you click it takes about 10 "can't connect to server messages" then sometimes it will allow you to buy a ticket. However the last 3 days it hasn't let me buy a ticket, so I reinstalled the app to see if that would help.. Now it won't even allow me to log in.

A. G. u. Nov 26, 2018

It generally works okay but it can hang at inopportune times, i.e. when waiting to board the bus. As a customer it doesn't make sense to activate a ticket until the last moment, no matter how impatient the driver is. A much longer window of activation, or the option to deactivate an activated but unused ticket, could improve the efficiency of boarding passengers using this app.

It is OK when it work, but too often it crushes down, loading takes ages, malfunctions. It should work offline, but then almost immediately you get requests to connect to network for upload. When I changed the phone, it took me around 40 minutes to transferred the First account with repeated reinstallations of the app to finish process. It couldn't connect to the server despite phone being connected through WiFi next to the router. If you have limited data transfer, it will give you much stress.

Keeps asking me to rate it even though I didn't tap "remind me later". Crashes repeatedly on startup meaning that you have to open the app well in advance to make sure you aren't holding the queue up. Also although I'm sure the "buy me again" button is useful sometimes, it should not suggest that you might want to buy your yearly bus pass again in the big red button at the top.

The app is good however can be slow, also when you click on the ticket button in the top left corner it take you to another screen where you have to click on your ticket instead of your ticket coming up straight away. Other than that fairly easy to use and has some good feature especially when used in conjunction with the first bust tracker app.

Not reliable enough for any other score apart from one star. Server connection problems at peak times mean that instead of making life easier you have to plan when you are going to buy your ticket. And it always crashes at the wrong time. If I could stop using firstbus I would. And the score is still 1 star, and it's not going up if you keep on asking me to rate it, even after I say no thanks on a daily basis. No matter how many times this app asks me to rate it, it is not going to score more

A. G. u. Feb 12, 2019

The app crashes when I activate the ticket 80% of the time.. that's me standing next to the bus driver, letting everyone squeeze through while I wait for the app to restart. The ticket gets activated when it crashes so I can't use alternative payment either. Very annoying when in theory this app is a good idea, but it fails at just the wrong time.

Wee. W. Apr 28, 2019

Mediocre ticket app. Sadly vastly inferior to the new app McGills are using. Buying tickets is especially slow and unwieldy, but it's just slow in general, and sometimes just seems to get stuck, which is very frustrating if you're just getting on the bus. Since it keeps nagging me to review *again* when I've done so already and it's never convenient because I'm trying to get on a bus, reducing to one star. For that and also the crashes.

Arm. H. Jan 15, 2019

I want to give this app a better but can't. It's a gamble every time I open it as to whether it will work. frequently it fails to load a ticket that was previously showing, usually just as the bus arrives and you end up delaying the bus by waiting to reload. I have also had problems with the clarity of whether you've actually bought the tickets. have ended up buying 20 tix instead of 10 and then not using the extras before they expire making the whole thing very expensive per journey!

Thé. S. Dec 16, 2018

It doesn't need access to everything on my phone! Drains my battery drastically, and they probably look at all my data and sell it, I have actually been getting a lot of spam recently, so that probably happened. It is a buggy app, that crashes all the time, and you are constantly asked to rate it, even when you click never ask again. Expensive tickets for such a short journey, and crappy customer service, unfriendly bus drivers, half of whom don't even stop. This company needs to be stopped!

Geo. H. Feb 13, 2019

the app is very handy when buying tickets but has an issue when signing into the free wifi on busses. on more than one occasion the app has crashed at the crucial moment and I've had to delay the bus, waiting for it to load up again. not sure if it's a network change messing with data calls or what, but pretty clunky in that regard. otherwise the app works fine

I've been complaining about the state of this app for 2 years. However the developers have recently improved the app's reliability very significantly. Crashes seem to have stopped and speed has noticeably improved. Thank you for listening to your users! I would put 5 stars, but I feel like there are still improvements in the user experience, particularly buying of tickets. Hopefully this will also improve over time.
