App isnt accurate in the slightest. Time tables are never up to date live feeds included. Cancelation, delays or alterations are never communicated, either via the app, the live feeds at stops or by the bus drivers. 3 years ago this app was great. You would know the timetables, cancellation, everything. Wasnt the greatest thing since sliced bread but it fulfilled it's function perfectly. Now...it's just a digital ticket holder
Useful app that works fine. It shows the correct information and live bus times are fairly accurate. Would like to be able to set notification reminders for when my bus is due.
Utterly useless. By far the worst app i have ever had. It simply doesn't work. I kept it for a few months hoping the updates might sort the issues but no, it's got worse. 99% of the time it shows NO live bus times. There are just blank spaces where the buses should be during their destination on the live bus stop road map It really is a useless piece of junk, just like all the constantly cancelled buses themselves. First Calderdale is the most poorly run bus service in Yorkshire. AVOID
Where do I start. A bus app which can't give accurate times. Doesn't match the 'live'(a joke in itself) boards at the bus stop. App times doesn't match the timetables at the stop. You have to decipher between 3 different times to guess which one is real. When you wait for the time selected you then find out the bus is cancelled which the app doesn't say, and only says on the live board if first can be bothered to provide this info, which they very rarely do. Absolutely useless app and company.
Couldn't reset my password after several attempts to receive that "reset your password email" (checked my spam folder and everything). App asks for a phone number, when registering, but doesnt give you an option to recover it using your phone number.
You have to pay more by using the app. £7.50 increase for a monthly ticket, yet if you pay on the bus its cheaper, so passengers get ripped off and told to use the app, have to pay more. Plus the app is never accurate.
I would love to give you 0 stars but it's impossible. Your buses as well as your app are an absolute joke - luckily you can't delete reviews here like you do on your Facebook. The buses times shown are incorrect and change on the fly. The amount of times my bus didn't show so I'd walk for it just to drive past me, or it showed on the app or the screen but never came is unreal. Easily the worst transport company I've ever used, both in England and abroad.
Awful app. The user interface is clunky. The search function is incapable of many basic searches, the 'live' times are inaccurate, & the app gives conflicting information about if a service is running. It allowed me to buy tickets for a service that is actually free (Taunton Park & Ride). Still no refund from First Bus 'customer service'.
"First Bus pasted from your clipboard" - why? I've had this happen on the home screen and maps screen, seemingly at random. There is no reason for this. I've had sensitive information such as passwords in my clipboard when it happens. I have no idea whether this is a mistake or the information is being sent back to FirstBus. Please remove this or ask permission.
This app is bad and it's got worse with its need to verify your payment method. My phone can't handle apps going into the background while I open another one to get a code or provide the 1st, 4th and 9th letters of my memorable word. Even when I used the split-screen it took me multiple attempts to get the payment to go through. I understand the need to ensure payments are legitimate there has to be a better way than this.
Very rarely works. Would be very valuable if it was reliable. If they want to encourage more bus use this would be the thing to get right
It's really difficult in this app to find out about the bus times for your daily trip. The live bus times are frequently way off what actually happens on the ground. I would love to get rid of this app, but the tickets are a tad cheaper with the app than with the driver. Only reason to keep it. BTW the live bus times on Google maps are wrong too, so all the latest GPS technology is useless in this case. So sad. Get your act together, First. Other cities can do this!
So frustrating. It worked perfectly fine for ages then it suddenly stopped accepting my card payments despite there always being enough money in the account. It worked again for about a month over Christmas and it is now refusing to accept card payments again. This appears to be an ongoing issue for a number of people and yet nothing is being done about it. Can you please sort this out, I will have no alternative but to delete the app and pay cash otherwise.
Version 5.0.1 is very broken and the app needs a massive overhaul. Perhaps look at Stagecoach buses app and take pointers from there ❤️👍
I have been using it for a while and it starts up fast as the bus approaches. the best thing is that it paperless and I don't lose my ticket or miss busses looking for my ticket. I think one day I'll end up giving the review five star.... I once double paid using my bank card on a bus and it was practically impossible to get a refund going down the phone route. then they wanted scans of ticket etc.i did all that then the emails bounced on the address they sent me. so that's why I took the app..
app won't work! The map does not load at all so I cannot see any stops or timetables. Nothing! Tried clearing cache and data, didn't fix it. Tried rebooting phone, didn't fix it. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, didn't fix it. Basically I can get my ticket but nothing else at all. Samsung android.
Adds busses and let's you buy them even if they don't run in that area anymore there should be something on the page to say the bus no longer goes there especially for people wrought not be familiar with the area!! I ended up wasting a bunch of money just to get a bus l!
Completely unreliable as a company. I'm at the first stop for my route, and the busses are still 20 mins late, at best. Drivers will leave stops if you get there the same time as them too. Busses you were relying on will 'dissapear' from the timetable, just before they're meant to turn up, leaving you stranded, as well as shutting down randomly at stops, delaying you further. Definitely not for use to do anything that needs you to be on time, you won't be there until hours after your slot.
This is great app in general, but for the past few weeks the app has not been working or showing any bus times. This has been an impact as I am not able to see what time the bus will get to my stop or if the bus is delayed as it happens quite often.
UI is clunky which really needs these features 1) a 24 hour vs 12 hour clock setting, 2) a way to zoom in on the walking directions to a bus stop or minimise the written instructions and 3) the ability to find out more about different day/month fares.
It is a good app and prices are low but sometimes the tickets get rejected. Also the buses sometimes just don't go and we have to get off. This one time we all had to get off because apparently the bus didn't work but when we got off it went straight on the normal route. The buses sometimes do this but all round I guess it's better than paying at the till because its cheaper. The tracker also isn't always reliable.
Why on earth would you change the bus numbers name etc? It's a hot mess! Whoever thought that this would be a great idea, needs to go back to the drawing board and fix this mess. Why change things when it's been running like this for years!!!! Yes I get drivers are leaving due to pay etc but that doesn't mean that the routes numbers etc need to change. Just ridiculous. Doesn't show each stop, how many seats are available etc. AWFUL including the new bus ticket system..
Bus routes and numbers changed 18th April 2022 with no communication on the app or to local schools or residents- in fact no communication with any of the users of the service. The app hasn't been updated with the new bus timetables so makes it unusable. Just stand at a bus stop and wait and hope that a bus turns up at some point in the future....fantastic service! NOT
I didn't hold out hope for a decent bus schedule via the app, based on other reviews, but wanted to use it to buy a bus ticket. The app never considered people might want to buy in advance. Selected a day ticket, only to realise there was never an option to select WHICH day. Now I have £12 down the drain because I needed to travel out in two days time, not right here and now. Selecting a ticket type is a nightmare too, 10 options with no info on what each type does.
