I have tried this thing numerous times.. keeps telling me the Vin is invalid or network is not available. . And will not save #'s for history.. This would be a big help to me as I order parts all day long from O'Reilly and first call on line. Please fix it and I will take back the mean things I said...
This app works great. I demo it for my installer accounts. It isn't a source to look up parts it's just for identifying your customers year, make, and model. Long story short it makes it easier to identify the vehicle and send the info to your first call online account.
Good but you need to change it so scanner doesn't default to horizontal position. A lot of cars have bar code vertically on the B pillar and scanner doesn't always pickup entire V.I.N. Also, a link that sends vin info to Mitchell would be convenient.
Looking for an app where I can look up parts to buy either online through O'Reilly's auto parts or pick up locally. This app does not help me with what I need. I do not want my Vin scanned or put through someone's system via internet. So I am stuck using Autozone's app. Until O'Reilly's come up with something equal to aAutozone's app, then I will give more stars
If you're 90 years old and just figuring out that there aren't actual buttons on a smart phone, then this app isn't for you (unless you work with someone who understands them.) You have to have decent services but is by far the fastest vin scanner in this app store.
Pretty good scanner all around. Would be nice to assign a name to the vehicle and the ability to read vehicles with a QR code and no barcode.
App is aweful and not user friendly. How about the ability to just look up parts without the scanner. I'll make sure my local O'Reilly Auto Parts is made aware that the Auto zone app is way better.
Napa is way better open to the public. I think this app is only for repair shops. Wich is stupid. They loosing business.

This app is a way of entering accurate and consistent VIN information for a automobile repair shop. If you are downloading this in hopes that you can look up Parts this is not the app for you. The functionality so far of this app has been terrific at identifying VIN numbers and automatically uploading into our shop computers for the parts personnel to lookup.
Camera focus does not work on HTC M8 phone while trying to scan the QR code to set up shop info.
Works good except on Hyundais. It will automatically add an extra digit and server won't recognize 18 digits.
Always says can't connect to network . Wish I could order then parts right from the app.
Just kept going in and out of focus, but wouldn't snap the number.
My 93 Buick has no bar code. How am I supposed to look up parts. Uninstall

What was wrong with the old app? At least we could look up and order parts! What's with all the "shop" crap? I can understand using vin numbers to assure correct part but this app is not at all friendly to the majority of your customers, the non shop people.
This app doesn't work I tried numerous times on all 3 of my cars it won't scan none of the vin's they need to update it, It needs weekly ads coupons etc please fix

Will not go to parts search. Worthless, unusable.
The screen rotation is awful. Try and pull Vin off a door where the barcode is vertical and does not have a barcode on the Vin tag on the dash.
Napa and Autozone apps are so much easier to use...the Orielly's app is totally useless without a shop QR code, the website is okay but using the Napa or Autozone app is far more convenient.
Auto Zone app it's 100 times better it has all of different options to see the prices for the cars on many different models this app needs a huge time improvement other wise it's a peace of trash. ..
Its convenient when it works but when it can't connect to the network for some reason, I have to go back to the car and scan it again and it is frustrating. Also, about half the time I open the app, all my previously scanned VINs are gone. It would be nicer if it would save the VIN and then send it when it can connect to the network so I'm not going back and forth a million times. With a few improvements it would be a great app.
I don't know what exactly changed but my VIN scanner no longer uploads to my online first call account
