At first I wasn't sure if I liked the updated version, but so far so good. A very handy reference to keep up to date with all the continually changing regs. My only wish would be that if it senses your location it would just tell you which fish and limits for the sub-region you're in... would require more programming but would make it much more user-friendly.

Latest update fixed my previous issues. Jury is still out. Would be good to see latest fisheries notice on specific area selected. The notices may differ from the base regulations so you still need to go to DFO website. Poor execution of upgrade to the App. Since they upgraded the app to use location services and search feature it has never worked on my Android. I can't even select a location manually from the map. I have uninstalled the App and going back to the DFO website instead.

update!!! workaround found. When you click kn the species and it brings you to a blank page, ick the back button and then look at the bottom and you will be able to click on the species which will take you to the corrext information. App still needs to be fixed though and I hope the gov starts using it to accurately record catches instead of asking anglers to fill out a random survey

This new version does not function. I find it useless. Contacted several friends who use this app. No one can get the information they want and are not happy. Cannot find information on area 17 prawn closure. Need to log in each time. Randomly logs me out. Old version worked perfect.

updated app now harder to use! EG: Sub-sub area maps needed (eg 15-5A vs B vs C). (and with location turned on, it should say which sub-subarea you are in... didn't do this for Area 15-5. I had to go to DFO website to get maps. ) Shouldn't have to update (via cell data!) each time you run it... besides using up data, one is often NOT in cell coverage fishing in BC.

I enjoy the overall app - one thing I wish is that there was a way to save your Freshwater license as well as your Tidal one. It'd be great to have all that information in the same area. Elsewise really enjoying the updates; keep them coming.

Updated app is so much easier to use! Having the marine weather added is an extra bonus. If it included tide tables it would be perfect. Less cumbersome to navigate than the older version too.

It's much easier to understand , than the fisheries website.

Considering how complicated the DFO regulations can be, this app does an amazing job of clarifying it for the species you are targeting in whichever area you are fishing. As someone else said, this app would be next level if it also could contain the Freshwater regulations and licence, but completely understand why it is focused on tidal.

App seems good, but I think I need to go to law school to understand where I could possibly go fishing with my son. How about a search function to find fishing areas open by species instead of hunting area by area. Even within an area it's unclear if a particular spot is closed. As a casual Fisher, I think I might just go tubing instead.

Seems to pretty good but when I look at the regulations I am confused about which one is in effect. I think the top one is the current one but if you open other ones below it , you can get a different regulation . I need a clarification on how it works

Handy to check the regs, keeps getting better! Update: after 1 year of use I have changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Yes, it does keep getting better!

Up to date and informative!

Overall great features, wish the use my location worked better for sub areas but it's a great start. Very useful with species ID and lisence carry and record feature

Makes it easier to get information

Currently as of July 25, 2020 the app is not loading properly on an Samsung Galaxy S7 android phone. Keeps wanting me to give a report on the issue and not remembering who I am etc....pls fix this major bug!

Excellent way to understand the complicated regs and know when updates are in place. I use it a ton for trip planning and catch logging.

A great app for keeping up with the complex regulations changes in each area and very handy for quickly recording your catch.

It's nice that I can have my license on my phone but the closures and regulations are confusing. Not the most user friendly app

Great to have a trustworthy way to check the latest regs. Unfortunately I often fish where there is no cell coverage.

Used every time I go out in the boat to ensure whatever fishing I plan doing is legal in my area. I would like to see future dates for season openings of different species.

Great app. Only issue so far is the cartoon pics of species. I have complained about this and have been assured that real pics are coming

Very usefull, a little hard to navigate at first but once you use it enough you can figure it out

this app doesn't work with my Samsung s10 I w tried reinstalling 2x. it opens but it doesn't show regulations.

Glitchy, slow, crashes in low cell areas (fishing!) And can't download areas for offline use

Any thing you need to know about a fishing area you can legally fish in for a certain species or all species of salmon are right hear on this app and very easy to use

Found this app to be totally useless! would not respond at all even though it said the my laptop was compatible.

App doesn't work. Data input fields do not allow entry, app locks up and crashes.

This is the worst app that has ever been made for use I think. Typical goverment app virtually useless and completely intently hard to decipher

I installed this app for fresh water fishing. But it is for only tidal water. It need to be explained about that first. I disappointed after opened this app.
