This is an update to my previous review. After getting help from support I was able to set up the app again and re install. It works fine with Samsung Galaxy S5.
It keeps sticking when I try to download data. Have to uninstall then re install every day. Also sleep not accurate. I do not fall asleep in five mins!
Very occasionally plays up but most of the time works seamlessly with my Fitbug account and my Vitality account.
App works very well except 1 feature called in the zone has been reported since initial release This app is only supported for some android devices and I have used on Samsung s3, s5 and note 8 without issues
Cannot get to sync since updating to Samsung galaxy S7 with android 6.01 installed also apply will still not shut down without Killing it.
Very inaccurate. Now it won't let me sync to the app. Won't refresh the screen.
App was working fine but now will not communicate with my orb. Some one please help!!
Cureently thinks date is January 2013... both on Galaxy Note 3 and Moto Play X Style.
Just bought an orb and installed this app and I'm afraid to say it is rubbish. Will not upload data at all even though my Bluetooth is on all the time, yesterday it thought I had 2 sleeps because I had tried that much :( If it worked it would be good.
Firstly it doesn't pair with my Bluetooth, the Orb keeps rejecting it. Sometimes it will let me upload the data by teasing me with the little pink flashing bar, but 9/10 times I have to uninstall etc. Ok I'm giving up trying to load my steps today. This is disappointing as I work for a health company that promote these devices. I should have stayed using the Fitbug Go, no issues with that one.
Works once every two days, can't log in to my account as it errors. If you bought one, take it back ASAP and get your money back. Waste of time and money. The bluetooth on my Nexus 5x doesn't work anymore, if i cant sort it out..... YOU WILL PAY FOR A NEW ONE
I use this app to get my step/sleep data into the Fitbug website and that's it. The background sync doesn't work so I'm limited to manually uploading with the app open, but that's something I can live with. I'd also assumed the Orb would sync with my phone without a data connection (for the phone to sync later) but apparently not. Everything goes straight to the website, which means you can't later look at your data without being online
It does the job, but it's a trial. The interface ignores everything that is good about Android and persists with its own strange UI. It can't remember that I've given it permission to turn on Bluetooth. Even when I've turned off background mode it squats in the notification bar. Just poorly designed and constructed. And when you email them as suggested they just thank you for the feedback and pass it to the developers, never to be seen or heard from again. No customer support at all.
The app used for fitbug could be better. It's says about nutrition but doesn't let you put any data. Also, it will help if it give a summary of the today for the week in the app itself. The app can do with some upgrades. Also, if it allow to see other users achievements, it will help to perform better. Further, it has a place to update and change your weight...however doesn't bother to give a history of its progress. What's the point. Very annoying to get updates through emails when an app is present.
Nice device let down by an appalling bad Android app ! I just don't get why you would spend millions developing hardware and then not spend the 100k or so getting an Android app written by people who understand the Bluetooth stack ! I've tried several fitness trackers including Pebble and Misfit and they seamlessly sync with their apps and display the data locally even when there's no internet connection. This app repeatedly fails to sync, locks up and tells me I've walked 0 steps when it previously told me way more than this. Beacon mode doesn't work any better and just flattens the device battery really quickly. The only way to sync is to kill the app, restart it and then hit the button on the device. The app then asks if it can keep bluetooth on (why ?) but won't sync again. Come on, save your business and start again with this app !
About 90% of the time it says data upload error. After about an hour of resetting things and pressing the button...It will work. Very frustrating. Not worth emailing etc, I've tried everything. Just going to bin it.
I just set up a google+ account specifically to warn people how poor this is. Dont waste your money. I got a fitbug orb + the app to link to my vitality account and gain points for steps. Well ive only had it a week and already the app has stopped working and wont refresh so my activity displays as 0 .. same on my partners. No response from support so literally cant do anything until they decide to fix it. This is the second time in 6 days that the app has done this... pathetic. Honestly dont bother.
It keeps on force close. Quite annoying. Trying to upload steps but app makes it difficult to do so
Data doesn't sync from the orb to my app and the sleep data didn't pick anything up. Very weak product, no wonder it's being given to businesses for free.
Painful to use. Slow. Freezes. Buggy. I think the crux of the problems are related to Bluetooth. On my galaxy s7 edge it constantly turns the bluetooth on and off. Had to force stop to stop the Bluetooth mayhem as it interferes with other bt devices.
Item really a pain to upload data, that' s if you can! Cannot enter nutrition data or open most of the items meant to help. Maybe this is why so many were in the reduced aisle.
It worked fine in the beginning for a week but past two weeks it doesn't record all the steps..
Bought the fitbug last Christmas and have spent more time trying to get the buggy android app to work properly than using the bug. Uninstalled the app in June, thought I'd dig it out the drawer and try again only to find the app even worse than it was before. Going to buy another more expensive fitness tracker this year but it won't be a fitbit. Good idea let down by horrendous software. Even the cheap Chinese knock off fitness trackers have better software.
