I keep coming back to this app every few years. And hate to leave a not so great review, because I do enjoy it. It has ALOT of exercises. It has so much potential, but also so many bugs. It's mediocre when it comes to user friendliness. I keep thinking it must be better and pay for the premium version every few years. But get error messages, blank videos, information gets deleted, and always a struggle to make a workout. For a free app it's great, premium would be worth it if bugs are fixed.
Provided ideas for workouts as a beginner. Only negative is hard to use the timing function as you have to reset it each time - would be easier if the timer did 3 sets and 3 rest in one go. Also you have to record manually even if you used their timer (this could come up automatically as you doing an exceeded for that time). Not sure if these features are in the paid version. Also some of the descriptions are so long you can't read them before the screen changes but this only happens with a few.
This app went down hill. Firstly, I bought the premium version of this years ago and I used it in my routine constantly. Now after break of not going to the gym they are expecting me to subscribe monthly instead (When I already paid them for a full version). I ordered it to see what it was like but none of my old workout plans I had made are even available, not to mention that the interface is a hot mess (at best). I am very disappointed with the quality, and wish I can get an older version.
my friend has the iOS version and it's alot better than the Android version. A lot of the exercises missing on the Android version, also when you start your work out can't seem to be able to save rhe rest timer (i have to manually set it for every exercise), once you select a workout for example gym, intermediate variation 1, on the iOS if you click on the exercise itself it will show you the example but not on the Android version.
Good and bad.. The workout section of the app is 5*. It tailors a workout program for you based on the results you want, has a seemingly endless library of exercises for you to choose from with helpful videos, and great search filters.. The nutrition section is not good. Ive had issues with entering my calorie consumption for the last 2 days. It wouldn't accept what I was trying to input, I uninstalled the app and tried again, it worked but deleted my workout. Same thing has happened today :(
Loved this app when I had it on my iPhone. Moved to s10+ and it's terrible. Resets my training part way through a work out on two or three occasions, I can't end my day's session off at times, it automatically ticks everything off as done before I start etc. I've given up on it and I purchased a years membership and recommended it to others. So great if you have an iphone but terrible if you're on s10+
I paid for premium through Google and premium wouldn't unlock. Couldn't email technical support because it gets an error emailing then finally get this fixed to find it crashes within seconds of opening and now i can't get a refund from Google because it is a subscription and it took more than 48 hours to fix the original issue. Completely stuffed and out of pocket without any way to solve the issue. Criminals.
I am very dissatisfied with this app. We paid for the non premium version and at first really liked what it had to offer. The built in workouts had a handful of options and it easily allowed us to log our workouts. However, recently the app removed almost all of the options and built in workouts that we had previously had access to. The fact that they removed content after we paid for it is unacceptable. This app has now become unusable for us and I will not be recommending it.
Terrible app compared to iOS edition. App does not remember previous iOS training sessions correctly when 'doing workout again'. When I try to change units to US it does not retain thr change. The blue ticks after each set are already in place when session starts. You have to manually start the countdown between sets and then it doesnt alarm to tell you to go again. Expensive mistake buying this app considering I had already brought it on iOS only six months ago.
So I wouldn't download this app again. While it does have a plethora of options I feel it doesn't live up to all the articles I've read. I did unlock premium and was excited to use it. So I set up one of the programs started workout. It just listed what I was supposed to do no video during workout to assist. The program shows u what your doing before but not during the workout. And since I don't know what half the exercises are... Yea.
Would not recommend this anymore. It used to be really good, but all the updates and changes have removed the helpful content I used to use. It is too generic and focused on quick workouts rather than the longer routines it used to have. When it updates, instead of adding routines and functions, it replaces routines which is really frustrating when I found a routine I liked.
Terrible Experience. Had paid for the original fitness buddy app years ago. Downloaded this new app and paid for a yearly subscription and it doesn't work right. Setting up custom workout will show workout till you try to do the custom workout and it shows one exercise routine. Tried to redo and get same result. 45 min workout turns into another 20 min. trying to log it in. Very expensive and very disappointing.
Horrible For Android. works great on my iphone but absolute trash on my samsung. Doesn't keep populate previous results on next week workout session. Time bell doesnt go off. App crashes all the time. Doesn't complete sessions sometimes. the list honestly goes on and on. Development for Android wasn't a priority for these jokesters. Would love to get my money back for being premium and put towards another app where the developers care.
I've been using this app for a while now but I made the mistake of purchasing the pro package, I seen that it was not for me and I was refunded fully which was nice but what stayed behind is all the audio assets, ( over 900) and for some reason I can't delete all of them at once, google play won't let me. So now I have to go and manually delete every last one, one at a time, I don't know if this is a glitch thru the app but it's incredibly frustrating because now my playlist is crowded
I cannot access the "Go Premium" options. I have emailed three times and even tried to create another account, which means I may been charged twice. I had this app year's ago and it was phenomenal. The app has diminished in quality. Getting a refund is impossible.
Two different versions of this app but the droid version of this app is different than the iOS version and that is truly disappointing. Not able to sync information with Galaxy Health unlike syncing with Apple Health but at the first version of app is still manageable and reliable. It looks like I would have to upgrade just to get the same features I was getting with the iOS version of the app without the upgrade.
definatly not worth the money. there is not option to create AND save your workout with it being deleted the next day!! When you select a body part to view the exercises, you don't just get for that specific muscle instead it's all mixed. This is needs alot of fixing for it to be a good app, I am very dissapointed that I have made the purchase.
They finally updated their app after all this time and now it's worse than before. Nothing of value was added, in fact it has less workouts than before but tons of ways to get you to pay for premium. you can customize workouts but there are better apps that do that. the calorie and weight counter are okay but again much better apps already doing that. I'm going back to the old version. 3 to 2 stars.
App is useless. Paid for premium, never got premium. Still shows basic. The app is seriously flawed, does not show any workout schedules or anything. Stays on a screen saying warmup doing nothing at all. Waste of time, money, and now more time to get a refund. The app should be pulled from Google Play.
It used to be user friendly, now it doesn't even let me log my workout. The timer for how long I've been working out would be cool, if it worked, instead it stops working mid workout. I feel like I got scammed by paying for premium, I'd even be willing to revert to the previous version of this. Edit: records workouts at random
I'm day four on my expert full body workout and then the app stop working. when i press on fitness buddy, it opens then closes saying ( Fitness buddy has just stopped/ restart/ or send feedback) I paid for the app and don't want to reinstall because I read a review of somebody going through the same thing and they had to pay again once they reinstalled. I would like this app to work again so that I can complete my workout, I have scheduled. I dont want to give a bad review but if problem continu.
good app apart from when looking at past history then goong back to workout the past history screen is merged with current and only way to make it go away is to finish workout (really annoying) am a paid subscriber but its enough to make me change to a different app. apart from that its a good app (google pixel)
I just typed and typed trying to explain the problem I had and then I ran out of room... so here are the bullet points. Last year I purchased the premium service. I didn't use the app much. I deleted the app. I was charged for the service again, I cancelled my subscription and asked for a refund. I got the run around, they blamed Google Play and Google play couldn't help because $ was already sent. I asked for help again and they said "tough". moral of the story, crappy customer service
I have a Samsung, was great at first but now it's rubbish. My mate has an iPhone and it works great for him. Missing half the exercises whats on the iPhone, won't save some of the workouts, was going to try premium but after reading the reviews won't bother.
Making changes to the order of workouts is impossible. Which renders the app useless. I like to change up my routines to create muscle confusion. I'm constantly adjusting exercises and the order of them. Sure, you can add exercises to a workout, but you can't change the order so it's pointless to add something if it has to go to the end. Additionally, it's hard to see what I did on my last set. On the plus side, they do have a large library of exercises with. I've visuals. Use Hevy app
