Really want to like this app, but the devs have some work to do. :/ Linking my account to Facebook/Twitter doesnt work (gives an error code or freezes every time). Can't update my profile pic- nor find out the process for doing so. Wrote a long post with a post-workout photo, and only the first sentence appeared. Photos only appear on the preview post in my feed- clicking will take me to a broken link. App scaling is a little wonky on my Galaxy S8+. Default post size in settings doesn't work.
My major beef with Fitocracy is that they seem to have abandoned their users. I've been on Fitocracy since 2011 and have subscribed off and on to Hero, although I don't use a lot of the premium features. Exercises seem to no longer be updated, which is a shame, because some of the most common ones are missing. No one got back to me when I noticed I'd been automatically charged for another year of Hero and didn't actually want to be. So I've sunk another $45 into an app that I loved for a long time, but that isn't worth it anymore, and I'm pissed off about that.
Not great as it is now. It doesn't update consistently with the website and sometimes it's stuck perpetually loading. Also, not as easy to add pre-made workouts. Better to just log onto the site via the browser. Needs major updates and bug fixes.
Moving from iOS to Android leaves me disappointed with the useability of this app... While this may be down to what I'm used to, I find the iOS version much easier to navigate, read through and check out previous workouts
When I try to input my workout on an advanced stage ... weighted pullups and dips... the app keeps shutting down... Pls fix this bug asap. I've been a member since 2012. thank you.
The Android app is slow and buggy. It has been this way for a long time. I will change my rate when they start to fix it.
Cancelled my account, they are still charging me monthly and now I can't even log into an account because the account has been closed.
poorly developed for android they are constantly updating for apple, but leave android in the dust...i mean come on the last update was in 2015.....that should tell you something
I can't sign in with my Facebook credentials. I even tried it on the computer and I get nothing but errors
Create concept, just wish the devs would be a bit more active at fixing bugs and the UX
No synch with any other app, hasn't been updated since 2015.
crashes when adding weight to tricep dips (advanced)
Waaaaay to slow, won't load... probably going to have to uninstall
Not bad. Wish I could set workouts a few days in advance.
Not user intuitive
I dont get it, so when are you going to update this app, hmm? It's been years. Come on.
Hasn't been updated in three years!
doesnt work don't waste your time
Easy to use
Every time I open the app, it crashes. When I open it a second time it works. My level and continuous score never updates, even though I add workouts. The feed always shows me what was new back when I installed the app upon opening it. Has to reload it to show me recent things. Very slow in general. Want it to be as good as the website.
The add advanced option has been broken for 3 years. 3 YEARS. When trying to enter in the weight, the app crashes. This has been the case for me on 2 different phones and 3 iterations of Android OS. I have seen multiple people complain about this on the site, and it is ignored. I love Fitocracy, but this is ridiculous. Support your product's features or don't include them.
The idea behind Fitocracy is great: use gamification to motivate you to workout. You can level up, do quests, and see how you compare to others. The selection of workouts are good and the point system gives you a good idea of how you're progressing. However, I have found the app buggy and slow. For example, I must restart the app almost everyday because the current date is incorrect. I will continue using this app because of its concept, but the Fitocracy website is much better than the app.
I used to use this app religiously and loved the community and workout log. However, after using a few different apps, I've come back to it as I'm gearing back up in the gym. I've noticed a few things. 1- The available exercises, which were being added to before so I didn't complain, still aren't as extensive as other apps. 2- The community seems to have shrunk. The whole draw to it was getting props & having active groups to motivate each other. 3- It hasn't been updated on Android significantly.
It's cool having the social platform where people can ask questions and whatnot. But the exercise library could be expanded. Also they should change all of the exercises to have the option of adding weight to the activity. Crunches on a ball, can't add weight, dips can't add weight. Just make everything have that option.
Decent for what it's meant for, but my biggest gripe is the renaming of workouts (which doesn't work at all, it just spins then failed after a minute). So if you have a repeatable workout pattern week in week out, if you want to copy 'last monday' for example (which was a back workout) then you have to scroll back - which is fine, the issue being that every workout you've done is called "workout A" - as soon as you click what's in that work out to see if it's the back one (so you can copy it)...it imports it as if you've just done it, no prompting or anything. If it's not the one you want, you then have to delete the new workout and repeat the entire thing again until you find it - even more annoying when you mix it up as you then can't guarantee that your back day was on a Monday. If they can fix that, then 5 stars galore.
