Update: The streak counter works, but as of the most recent update, the primary feature of the app, the notifications, no longer works. I found the simplicity of the app before the latest update to be appealing, and worth the low initial cost. They are now switching to a subscription model (classic bait and switch) and the new app is way buggier.
Used to work 5 stars great, now that I upgraded to paid subscription again, it has stopped sending reminders and quotes completely. Emailed support. Said they'd get back to me. Never did. Super disappointed. Update: they fixed, responded, and rectified. Hooray.
The 'look' of the new interface is nice, but it doesn't quite work correctly, at least on Androids. It prompts you to start journaling right away, but you don't get the 1,2,3 prompts, unless you close it, then re-open it. Then if you want to go back to a journal entry and edit, it erases what you had there...for example, I added my own field at the end for bible study...I only journal in the morning, but when I go in and fill in the end of day part for the previous day...my bible entry's gone.
The app is great, and the design overhaul is a nice touch. What I don't like is that I paid for the app before it was a subscription model and was able to add photos to my daily posts. Now that the apps model has switched to a subscription, I've lost that functionality. I get a subscription for added features, but I'd appreciate keeping what I already paid to get.
Well, I didn't like new app at the beginning, but then I got used to. I liked simplicity of previous, but with new - the feature of adding more than 1 picture (4) and even small video for every section of the day. Though main problem - app glitches pretty often and all your text gets deleted... so you gotta re-write it all over again and it makes you upset and annoying as you lose that "first feeling" and mood, especially when it happens twice in a raw for same day.
Absolutely phenomenal app, bought premium immediately. App crashes whenever a video is added but aside from that and the frequent crashes this is my favorite journal app.
5 minute journal is one of the best app of this age... I love the features of the apps and how it takes daily entry... I have no problem or issue with the app... Always running smoothly... A big thank you to the developers...
I love this app but it keeps crashing when I open it. Sometimes the issue is resolved for a bit but then crashes again if I upload a picture!
i love this journal app! not sure what to say about this but if you're really committed to self-care, this is one of the apps that you should have installed. its a part of my morning routine.
Great app it has every feature I could ask for in a journal. I just hope they can add more affirmations in future .
Ive tried the new version of the app & loving it! i love the weekly challange, how i can customize the daily prompts, upload multiples pictures. the only thing I concern is just the price
I paid for the original app, which included photos. We were given an option to get a free year of subscription because we had originally purchased the app. I didn't purchase it as a subscription. I was making a one time purchase. Now it's a subscription and the basic doesn't include photos. The subscription doesn't make sense for what it offers.
I bought this app when it was only purchased once for a lifetime and now you guys turn this into a monthly subscription while removing all of my feature if I don't pay?! It's so much better if you make separate app for this, one for the old version and the other for the new one, you are seriously wasting the money of the old user.
Any app that asks you your credit card details and commitment to subscribe before even letting you see the actual app is a nono to me 😬 42eur/year and only three days trial period also sounds a bit odd.
So, I was skeptical at first. Working with this journal has totally helped my outlook and ability to identify what is important. 2 weeks into it - although not every day - has made a huge difference in my outlook. 5 Stars in my book!
i would like to add photos and videos but the app only wants you to go premium😣 inorder to add vids and pics .Other than that its a good app with nice topics😀 and affirmations 🙂
I love entering the daily questions. And it makes me very grateful to have the app. I would love some more enhancement, but it's good now also.
I m so mad about this app. I payed for a lifetime long subscription never subscribed for a yearly subscription. You changed the app and I got a year 'for free' as a present. Now I m stuck with a yearly payment I never asked for. I want my money back!
Privacy Policy ?, I bought the previous version of the app and to be honest the new "Free Version" I think looks ok. Problem I have is with the data stored in the app, the journal entries. The Privacy policy seems to go out of its way not to cover those journal entries. Is this data being sold , is it being stored securely somewhere ? I am yet to find out despite emailing the support team and asking the direct question !. The Privacy Policy makes no reference of the Journal Entries !!!
I have searched for a simple journal app with minimalistic looking interface for days now. I stumbled on the physical 5 minutes journal book and decided to look up an app version. And I found it! This is the best journal app ever!
I am so and. I am a paid subscriber til 5/18/2022, but my journal settings say I don't have an active subscription. Can't reach customer support.
best journal. really helps with staying grateful and even reaching your goals. ive got 6 entries since may 7th. LES GOOOOOO
Developers are crooks and unethical. Paid for the app years ago then they randomly decide to change to a subscription model (which doesn't even make practical sense for a journaling app). Throwing customers under the bus by paywalling features for customers who have *already paid for extra functionality*. No value or respect to long time customers by providing a courtesy subscription or anything. Wish I never gave them my money in the first place. -- Don't support this crooked developer.
Of course the app has 5stars!! It used to be one the greatest... Now they changed it, asking for more money by offering the same or use it for free by removing what we have already paid for... Ridiculous. Other app creators, are you taking notes? There's your opening right here: make the same app and sell it for a fixed price. The model had proved to be successful. Just don't turn greedy and start saying "business survival" excuses for your greed
Just wanted to comment on the UI design which is absolutely phenomenal. As a software developer, I'm thoroughly impressed with this.
I get subscription models work for the business, but it shows blantant disregard for the customer when you are not clear and give no choice. I've been a long time fan of more than one company that moved to subscription from application. And I followed them... because they did it transparently, gave an option, and justified the subscription. 'Assuming' i'll pay again for an app I've already purchased, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
This app is different from the others- And the key thing I like most is cloud sync. I like being able to type on my chromebook and then switching to typying on my phone if my chromebook is not around :)
Wonderful way to start the day and to shift to a more positive mind set. It makes you find the little things in life that make everyday a good day and has wonderful quotes to keep one inspired (: highly recommend!
Great app but the only problem is that if you want to add any extra features you have to pay for it....and it's really expensive
I've really enjoyed using this app for the past 4 years, and found it incredibly useful. I wasn't even too disturbed when the app updated last year. However, I've now hit the end of that free trial year that was granted, and won't be paying for the subscription model. I happily paid for the app back in 2018, and would happily pay around $5/year to keep my premium access to it. But at these levels ($35/yr in Australia), I would rather switch to something else, as there's no shortage of journalling apps out there. I've settled at 3 stars - 5/5 for the app, 1/5 for the pricing.
