Five Psalms
In Donald S. Whitney's excellent Praying the Bible book (Crossway, 2015), Whitney introduces a superb, systematic approach for praying through Scripture called "Psalms of the Day." Since there are 150 psalms in the book of Psalms and most months have at least 30 days, you can read through all 150 psalms in a month by reading five per day. You start by taking today's day of the month and reading the corresponding psalm, then keep adding 30 until you get your five psalms. On the 31st day of the month, you read Psalm 119 only. You quickly scan those five psalms then pick the one that best leads you to prayer at that moment.
This app was inspired by Whitney's "Psalms of the Day" prayer approach. Instead of having to do the math each day and manually flipping to each psalm in a physical Bible, this app automatically looks up today's date, does the math, and displays for you the exact five psalms for the day. You can read through a psalm by swiping up and down, and switch to a different psalm by swiping left and right.
You can also display the Proverbs chapter of the day, customize the look and feel of the Scripture text, choose from different Bible versions, and customize what happens on the 31st day of the month (show Psalm 119 or five random Psalms).

Fantastic! This all makes it easy to read 5 Psalms and a Proverb chapter each day. It would be good to see other translations than those provided, but for a free app with no ads, this app is awesome! God bless!
I went looking for an app like this after I read a quote from Billy Graham saying that he couldn't make it through the day without at least five psalms a day. Surprised and happy to find such an and it does the proverbs chptr a day also. Reliable and thank you to developers.
This is a great app. However, I have been having problems with the content loading. The app opens up but know Psalms load, just a white screen.

It helpful and easy to go, and allowed one have self devotional on daily with God, in addition love to have the audio to improve it the more

I LOVE the idea behind this app. Initially there was an android bug (for people on 7.0) so that the ESV text wouldn't work. But the developer was super responsive, and helpful, and has gotten the problem fixed. Great app for devotions!
VERY happy with this app. Was in a discussion with the developer, and he added the ESV and a couple other helpful versions of the Bible. I'm getting ready to dive in. I think this will absolutely help me make daily Bible reading a new habit! Good job, Bryant!

It won't load the Psalms, just an endless spinning circle.
What a great app to help with my daily time of praying through Scripture! It's very easy to use and very helpful to have.
Same problem as others...won't load content. Endless spinning wheel. I've attempted to download and uninstall 4 times. Hope to eventually get it to work. Would like to use it.

I absolutely love this app. The only thing I would want added would be an audio option. I love to listen to and meditate to the spoken word of God, so being able to meditate on the Psalms as they are being read would be amazing!
