As stated by others, this app used to be effective, but is no longer allowing sending push notifications nor allowing me to update my phone. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I've tried to follow the online guide to attach/reattach my phone ... to absolutely no avail. It's very frustrating, since our local schools and emergency departments use FlashAlert. If would be so nice if the app were functional. I wish there were a way to easily ask for help with issues in the app.
This app used to work really well but now I don't get the push notifications, it won't link my phone and there isn't even the option to, it's like it's missing. It just gives me the message that no phone is linked to this app. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still not happening. I only get the emails which are not nearly as effective at giving me a heads up on what is happening. Hopefully they fix this and make it work like it used to.
Extremely confusing to use. No manner in which to add new phone once you have account opened. No tech support or contact information for the company. Also inconsistent on alerts. I have never received any alerts via phone but do get them via email even though I have the app installed on my phone. System is unreliable.
At one time, this app was great. But now users might as well ask a Magic 8 Ball if they're having problems getting the app to work properly because F/A's website is full of broken links, and neither the app nor website is particularly intuitive.
Used to love it, but now it's becoming nothing more than a marketing platform for “Umpqua Bank”. Don't know if Umpqua bought the software company or not. It's either that, or they will take any press release from any source without filtering them. Heck, I might just try doing a press release for the next go-fund-me campaign I like or the neighbor's next yard sale. But I'm hoping that they will fix it so I can once again get government press release info with sorting through advertisements.
Had problem getting subscribed for sms alerts on new phone. Resolved: in my case, my old phone used a different Google email for play store and had different account for flash alert. I had to Uninstall app from the old email play store (it will Uninstall from new email, but stays attached to old account ) Then I reinstalled with new email on both play store and flash alert. Still attached to old email, but No errors, and I was finally able to detach and then reattach to new email.
Doesn't work...worked fine on old phone now it gives me errors and says my account is not connected but when I try to disconnect it just sits there and says "checking push notification token" I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times..this used to be a good app.
I've used this for years and still get email notifications, but my new cell phone (Pixel 4a5g, Android 11) isn't getting any notifications. The help isn't helpful. I have no "Attach" button anywhere in the app. I can however, "Detach My Account". Nothing is helping.
Cannot use. Cannot receive push notifications on new phone. Keep getting error message. Re-installed app several times. Had no issues on old device.
You have to open the app to view notifications even if you have notifications turned on. Also when I do open it, it says my device isn't subscribed, which it is.
Great to stay updated but very confusing if you get a new phone or want to add more than one phone for the push notifications. If that were easier or had an actual help area to tell how to do it i would give 5 stars
After installing there was to many hoops to work through and found that my new created account would not be accepted, finally uninstalled. Would have liked to use it but will stick with easier notification apps.
High Background Use on S20 drains battery. "Your device does not appear to be subscribed, please reattach". Can't unsubscribe and reattach as others have commented on also, just sits there.
Reliable and accurate. Seems to be operating much better than it did when I first installed it a year or so ago. Quite helpful for school closure information.
Won't let me create an account. It keeps asking me to chose a region than nothing happens after I click the region and department I want. Please make it easier to create a user account.
To set up my new phone, I had to delete my account and set up a new one. I spent way too many hours trying to connect.
Appreciate the app! I especially appreciate your release notes! :) Thank you for keeping me informed with my local school alerts!
Poor Uninstalling it's self...& Don't allow me to reset my password.. asked for rest of password & received A message reader password has timed out??? worked for a day... Plz help
Keeps me informed on news I need to hear.
works for my friends on iPhone but not me
I don't love it or hate it or hate it very much
Works great for alerts and notifications, but God forbid you wanna browse local news and alerts. To do so you have to scroll through a massive list of items that has to keep loading every few entries. No way to search or add subscriptions through the app. This app really needs to be rebuilt from the ground up
Local Parks & Rec recommended. I'm a senior who uses their services. Not only do I get their alerts, but also the local info on senior services, school closures, and public transportation is showing during adverse weather conditions. Recommending to friends and family.
With the latest update, this app works like a charm. Easy to use with no log-on or connectivity issues. If you had problems with the older version (like I did) try the updated app. You won't be disappointed.
Impossible interface. Spent tremendous amount of wasted time trying to get setup. Chock full of indecipherable error messages. Useless.
Doesn't work at all. Every time I open it have to reattach my account. Not useful in the least.
This app is not installed on my phone, yet I continue to get texts messages. I get about 10-20 messages every day. If I happen to update my phone, when it is updated I receive about 100 past texts, that were already deleted. No one seems to be able to fix it. Its hard to uninstall an app when you can't find it on your phone. This is so frustrating especially after reading other reviews, stating they don't get the texts alerts.
