I wanted to use the built-in Portuguese set of cards. No luck for me this is Brazilian (voice and vocabulary) not Portuguese. Otherwise seems like a nice app w/o any bug. [EDIT] Thx for the answer. I know that I can add my own words but I don't have the time for that and wanted to use the built-in set of cards.
This app for memorizing vocabulary is easy to use and has several entertaining and useful functions. One can import pictures for the flashcards. The app seems to work with most if not all languages. One can probably use it to memorize other things than just vocab. Recommend it!
I really love this app since i discovered it almost a year ago. I sent email to the dev about bulgarian speech and he was so kind and answer as he could. The app is well done with images, genre, games, lists. There s things still i would love to see. 1) game with only images 2) space with shared lists between people (other apps got this. It helps not remake every time your own) 3) the price for premium is too high. I would gladly support 5e (normal app price) but not 15e.
This is definitely the best flashcard app for languages. The type it game forces me to keep trying till it's right - perfect ๐. The recall it game, beginning from native where my mind has to come up with the word was what I was looking for. I would love to see the spaced repetition based on more than binary forgot/recalled. Maybe automatically, based in the 10sec countdown timer? Being able to add imgs ๐๐ & everything else about the app super lit! I immediately bought premium.
I'm a programmer and built a flashcards app in React Native before, but never got all the features in I wanted to. This is pretty much the exact app I was trying to build myself. Simple, functional, every feature I wanted (spaced repetition system, 7 boxes, etc). Only suggestion: for Review, add an option for "Complete Review" that runs through all the methods again like Learn mode. Otherwise, pretty much perfect - best features: importing my XLS files and adding pics with an Internet search.
Amazing app! I'm in love with it... You can download categories with many words in it, you can add your own words and also make your own categories. While you learn new vocab ,you hear the way it's pronounced(but this point depends on the language : in arabic for example there is sadly no audio input). The way you learn and practice the new vocabulary is just wholesome. And the practicing is nice aswell. What I would only wish for, are the conjugations of the verbs. :))
Easy-to-use, intuitive and ground-breaking. Are you tired of Anki? Well this app uses spaced repetition just like it but also combined the gamelike elements of Duolingo and has a various amount of speakers to choose from - some of which don't sound like robots. I am learning Dutch and have found this app to be the most fun, engaging and effective. Will definitely be keeping and using for other languages in future. 10/10
This is one of the best apps I've ever used. I was struggling at first since I am not a good phone user. I asked for help by email (telegram available) and they were such great help. I keep some useful expressions here and practice them with flashcards. I highly recommend this. No disppointmemt at all.
This is a very convenient app and I've been using it for a few years now. My favorite thing is that anytime I highlight a word on the internet my phone gives me the option to add it to the Lexilize app! I think if you plan on learning languages all throughout your life or just studying for school definitely consider buying the premium version.
Being more minimalistic, it really makes me want to actually engage in learning a language ,unlike other apps which are excessively interactive or tend to overstimulate me. The words it teaches you are also pretty relevant and useful.
I use the flashcards to learn Korean and especially the writing parts help a lot! The pronunciation is also great and very helpful. One star less because it often says that I misspelled something, even though I wrote the word correctly. I have to click on "not learned" to continue with the lesson so that's a bit frustrating. Otherwise, amazing experience so far!
It's nice but the autoplay thing is super slow. it'll read the front of the card then you have to wait for like a minute before it reads the other side, I changed the settings so it should be faster but it isn't
Very good app. I'm coming from Quizlet because I was looking for an spaced repetition app. I'm enjoying Lexilize so far. I wish I could do the repeat mode playing all four types of exercises. It would also be groundbreaking if the app could automatically insert example sentences for the words we are studying.
Very useful for language drill. It badly needs options to adjust font sizes separately for each language, and for the app as a whole.
I love this app so much. It helps me to review vocabulary. I suggest that it will be best if this app can have some music or sound when answering correctly. Again, I am really thankful about it
For Russian, the installed vocab is not particularly well selected or interesting. Hard to eliminate the superfluous/tedious words, one by one. (Saw the response below -- why not upload a better list; major problem anyway the next, for Russian & other scripts:) It also seems to force typing in the result, without the adaptive keyboard that Duolingo has. All that said, could still be great for imported vocab in Latin script.
That is awesome! Thanke you for it. It is so handy for me and l can review all my words that I collocted from different sources. Different methods for review are great. This option is so interesting and precious๐
I'm just begun learning French. The way this app allows you to slow down pronunciation is very help. So in truth I'm enjoying the app and am well on my way to loving it.
Exactly everything I want from a vocabulary learning tool, and nothing I don't want. The platonic ideal of a useful app!
Good flash card app to pair another app. Im currently using this one and 2 others to fill in sum learning gaps. This one is great for quick word look up like a dictionary un like others engage the social structure of words. Using this app with doulingo and reword and memrise in conjunction will balance out all nessesary components needed to learn french
This app is well thought out and really works to help me learn new vocabulary! I have been using it nearly every day for about seven months now, and I think it's amazing! My only "complaint" is that it's only for Android. I have tried to share this with friends, but since they mistakenly use Apple, they can't use Lexilize...
It's the best flashcards app for learning languages. It has many features other apps don't have and it's simple to use.
Somehow it can pronounce foreign words that I enter into the flashcards that I make! And you can easily attach photos from the internet to your flashcards! Even the free version is very useful.
I like the app so far. Great way to learn new words. A recommendation would be to make it possible to add more languages as native. As a bilingual I'd like to be able to learn Russian words, using both my native languages.
Awesome app except for a few things whoch make it not 5 stars. Even the paid version has a limit of 5 languages. Which would be more than enough for me if I didnt like the app so much that I want to learn other subjects with it like physics and programming etc. My assumption is that there must be an api that the developer gets charged for, probably auto translation. If we could make unlimited sets that dont use this api that would makw this the best flash card app on the market
So far it is the most flexible world learning app I have found and I am loving it. You can create Your own list in Excel and import it easily to the app. Definitely recommend it.
This app has been my main way of learning german vocabulary. But, after the update I was reminded to synchronise my data and after doing that, I lost everything: hours worth of progress... thousands of words - gone! Just like that! I don't know what to do.
It is easy to use and when you make your own cards you already remember them and i like that there image function ๐
It's a good app. It's great that there are many lists already available that you can use, because entering your own is always a time-consuming labor, but I don't see how that could be helped. I enjoy the pronunciation out loud, because as a language learning, getting the inflections right is key. ๐
