Flashlight

Extremely simple flashlight app. Tap once, turns on torch. Tap again, turns it off. How can you get any simpler than that? Perfect for use as a standalone lightweight flashlight shortcut, or as part of other things such as launcher gestures, your own quick toggles, etc.
If you like this app or would like to support me you can purchase the donate version of Flashlight. It is the exact same app with no additional features.

Tested on: Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM), Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung Nexus S, Google Nexus 5

It works.. Sometimes. I've had many an instance where this flashlight has turned itself off randomly and takes me clicking it multiple times to get it to come back on thus causing a weird lag then causing it to flash obnoxiously. A little buggy but decent enough for random nightly use definitely wouldn't take this on a camping trip in lieu of an actual flashlight though

I usually don't review apps, but felt like I needed to for this one. The widget is simple and does exactly what it is meant to do. Also its the perfect flat design that is the size of an app, and is perfectly centered in the 1x1 area, most toggles are larger than apps and look out of place , and if they are the same size they aren't centered. Great job.

I was looking so long for a simple flashlight app that didn't need a ton of permissions or have a bunch of ads or was huge or slow or had some god awful ui or made the screen light up too. It was very frustrating. So glad I found this. I see no need to ever dl another flashlight app again. THANK YOU

Sporadically switches off for no reason, stays on when locked which is good but will go off randomly then too. Will keep as no permissions (as a torch app should be for Christ's sake, the other developers should be ashamed!) and will happily upgrade rating once updated for Motorola moto g. Thanks for your hard work and honesty for making a truly free to use app though!

It's hard to weed through all of the apps offering the same thing with a bunch of garbage that you don't want. Thanks for the widget style control, not trying to load it with useless "features," and leaving out the ads. It's really appreciated. Top notch.

After searching on r/android for a flashlight app, I came across this man's comment about how he made this app so that it wouldn't have any bloat. This app simply turns the flashlight on and off with a tap of the icon. No GUI, no ad's. Simply a flashlight.

Yeah, very simple as described. But a little trolling while using this app(or u can troll people with it), suddenly light on when app was launched and can suddlenly lightout afterthat. When u touch it slowly it will take your touch as "double press" so like yourself that turn it off, so if you want to use this app correctly, touch(press) it fast(quick). Note: when u press(launch the app, that was when u turn on the flashlight(one of this app feature). Other feature: This app has a little size and no add.

On my phone (Galaxy Note 2), the lockscreen icon must be dragged up to turn on the light but this has the undesired effect of unlocking the phone. To turn the light back off, I must either A) re-lock the phone, turn the lockscreen back on, drag up on the icon again, and finally re-lock the phone one more time or, B) exit whatever app I might have had open, navigate to the flashlight app's icon on the home screen, tap it to turn it off, then re-lock the screen. A simple on/off widget on the lockscreen would be greatly appreciated.

So simple. Have it on my Galaxy and I love how I can just tap on the app and it doesn't take me to an app but rather stay on my homscreen and cast out a powerful bright light. No ads, no waiting for an app to open up.

I thought all flashlight apps sucked. This one surprised me. There is no UI, and it works while screen is off. Yaassss! No crazy permissions. The last one I looked at wanted to know my browsing history. Sorry if your phone kills the app in the background. My Moto X'13 doesn't.

For some reason the light will turn off after 5 seconds, stay off for about 2 then turn back on and (seemingly) will stay on. Not sure if it's just my phone but would like a fix of possible, please!

I am looking for this type of app. Widget consumes the memory but i think shortcut doesn't.

Functionality is exactly what I want, but it's too slow. Used in my floating toolbox.

My son turned me on to this critter. No bullshit...touch the lightning icon, light (torch) on. Touch the icon again, light off. In apps or on a home screen. No fuss, no muss. No adds. No hook. Everything that's right with innovation. I suppose there could be something nefarious in here, but wow, what a refreshing change.

Doesn't want lots of permissions , Smart icon and works superbly, Highly recommend 5 Stars.

great! you can access the flashlight / turn on & off with the same icon without opening a different screen.

Sco. P. Dec 26, 2016

It's an application which brings you back home after it turns the light on. Delay.

Unlike the other flashlight apps, this one's icon is simple and not too weird for the app drawer and it doesn't feature ads! It may not open an app but it works just as well.

This app illustrates, exposes, how any other flashlight app which claims to need more permissions is exploiting your ignorance and privacy. Thank you developer for having the integrity to keep this clean.

Wow, for my current phone, this flashlight app works super fast. I timed its delay from screen tap to LED light on, 0.289 seconds, or 1/3 seconds fast. Its just a simple Camera LED flashlight app, tap on, tap off, but very fast. I want to try this on my other phones. Tested on LGMS345 10f, 5.1.1 , not rooted yet, mpcs.

In a time of ads and in-app-purchases it feels loberatong tp try an app that only: 1) has a name and icon. 2) has a one-click flashlight toggle function. The only thing I miss is an add-on for Tasker/Locale, so we can write flashlight tasks. Reccommended! 4/5

A very simple flashlight app. tap once on the icon to turn on and tap once again to turn off.. no popping up UI & no annoying ads.. The one I've been looking for.

I like it and I like your work .. but I want something so easy from you .. I want to add notification when I turn on the flashlight .. because the notification will turn the flashlight off quickly .. all time I was searching for the flashlight to turn it off .. and thaaaaanks I take you 5 stars 😊

Rus. K. Aug 26, 2014

The simplest, most minimalist flashlight app. No need for a widget or multiple taps. Tap to turn on. Tap again to turn off. Thank you!

Simple to use. Liked it better than the other free flashlight apps.

Deb. M. S. Sep 22, 2014

I was looking for a flashlight that I didn't have to tap twice to turn it on. ..no secondary screen. I love this app. You tap the widget your camera light goes on tap it again and it goes off. ..perfectly simple just like me

When I want a flashlight I want the flash to glow when I click the icon and this does exactly that, no frills.
