******A note on the microphone permission
I just want to address a recent issue that some users have been reporting to me about seeing a new permission show up for Microphone and Camera recordings. The truth is that I have not added any additional permissions to this app since the initial release. However, Google changed the way they display permissions to the users. The Camera permission is the one permission I've had since the beginning, and that's necessary in order to access the LED hardware. The reason Microphone is now showing up is that Google bundled the two together since that makes a lot of sense for anyone who makes apps that make use of the camera.
I know that for a lot of the users of my apps privacy is a huge concern but let me reassure you that my app does not take pictures or recordings. Even if it did, it does not have the ability to save any recordings (doesn't have the storage permission) or transmit them through the internet (no network permissions.) I apologize for any concern's that Google's new policy may have caused.

It does what it says it will do. Oh, it also describes what its functions are, & what substantive changes are coming in an update in the space provided by Google, here on the Play Store, so if a feature you depend on is being modified or destroyed, you may be disinclined to acquiesce to their request to download the latest version; That's your option. Google doesn't find such honesty & disclosure necessary for their own apps, never saying more than, "Bug fixes and orher improvements" REALLY??
Love that the dev is respecting privacy. I have to keep looking because my OnePlus 8's OEM flashlight doesn't have shake to activate & neither does this one. I'm giving it 2 ⭐ because on my phone, the screen light works as it should but the the on/off LED light button does nothing (LED just stays on until I swipe the app away).
Love this app!! You get standard flashlight option AND option to use the screen as a flashlight. What a great feature! My only critique is I wish it could remember your previous preference; like if I prefer the screen, wish I could set it to open to that automatically. But it still gets 5 stars for it's perfect simplicity!!
I know my flashlight can work because my camera can flash for photos but somehow the flashlight button does nothing. Instantly after this tiny app download the other half of the room was bright from my phone light. thank you for showing them how it's done!! UPDATE: Still just as unassuming and reliable the first install and leagues ahead of ad-filled, permission-laden apps.
THE BEST! It has EASY to use functions: The flashlight turns on immediately, or touch the pic of phone and the face of the phone lights up,OR you can use both lights at once! I had two other flashlight apps, they had a slide button I could never get the flashlight to turn on easily. LOVE THIS APP❤
This must have been improved since some of these reviews were written. It does allow you to open app and turn flashlight on or off repeatedly while app is open as well as turn screen light on and off. It is designed well and is simple, quick to open and convenient to use. I am using on Galaxy S5. Wouldn't change a thing.
Simple & fast to activate when needed. No Ads that bugged me so far. Nothing fancy, like flashing On X sec. / Off X sec. etc. Although there are other apps for that kind of controlled emergency lights for the roads, or what might You want a flaslight app to be ready to perform.
I might find a better one if were to spend a few hours searching but it does not get any better. For sure yeah all flash lights need the camera flash so it has to have that permission. You can get a flash light extra hardware that clips to the side and powers from the head phone jack if you dont want any permissions..
Perfect. Does what it says with no ads. The only permission to grant is for the camera but (for those negatively commented about this) it NEEDS the camera flash to function as the flashlight. Also I like the option of also using the screen as the flashlight or BOTH the screen and flash together. Great app!!
Easy to use and helps with the problem created by installing a phone radiation blocking sleeve that also blocks the camera unless I slide the phone up. The front light option lets me turn on the front light with just a tap. Well executed.
it's a plain ol' flashlight, with led and screen lit white. good if that's all you're looking for, no ads, just simple, a little TOO simple! muwahahahahahahaaaaaa!...ok, no... I'm looking for the perfect strobe, I've found two so far of which one of two work on my SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 EDGE, THIS HERE LG G5 AND MY OLD HTC ONE M7, two strobes i found work on one or the other of my four (forgot to mention grand prime smg530t1) anyways im not gonna mention them here cus that's sort of rude. But what I'm getting at is a good strobe really tops off the ratings for me. This app is good if all you want is an led and white screen, which is why i put 4 cus i want more. if that's all i wanted i suppose I'd put five stars.
Very good thank you. I can use LED or screen for light (or both at same time). If possible please allow the flashlight to stay on when app is in background (not sure if technical/hardware limitation?).
Excellent....its free and does what it says ( flash light ) great to have when you need that extra light for something ...and it light is for front and back or just switch it to one side. Great app...Definitly Recomend it 👍👍
finally, a flashlight app that doesent need permissions other than the necicary camera feature, had an issue where turnig flashlight on and off was unreliable but thankfully it always shines on app startup and closes when homescreen is used.
Perfect! It does just what it needs to do and in very simple and intuitive way. It can turn on the flash light as well as the screen, so it's actually 2 in 1.
Horrible interface blacked out screen with very dark gray bottons on startup which you can't see. Turns on at start up which makes it out of your control. Also wants permission to your camera. WHY? Fire the developer.
Question. ⁉️⁉️⁉️. Why does this"flashlight"app light up my screen brightness, but there's no flashlight that shines on the backside of my LG tablet⁉️Is this an issue w/my tablet or is that what you're dev. think is a flashlight.?.I'll change my rating once this is resolved. I'll have 2have look into if lg tablets just don't have that capability...

Love the app. Love the fact that it comes on immediately without having to hit another button. Just please add a strobe button as a 3rd option.

just got it, but reading the description was so comforting... it's almost like there are humans out there who care about each other and are working together to have a world that makes sense. kudos & gratitude to this developer! when we are able, we will get the contributing version of the app- all artists shall be fed!

If I need to use a flashlight, I've got one! It is extremely bright and that is what I need. Also, I did not have to give permission to root through EVERY file or program just to use it!
This is the best app I have ever used. Its simple works well doesnt need you to sell your soul to use the app no adds. I think this might be the perfect app. When I'm not broke I'm gonna get the paid version
Grrreeeat U have no ads or in-app purchases. U claim to access no permissions yet U ask for access to my camera prolly for the light but still, not cool after ur claim. And I have a flashlight that will not turn off unless close app, button doesn't work; really not cool if I'm in danger so pls change Asap or I will have to Switch apps. C outta A+ in my books
like it. it didn't charge me. it made the light go on. but, cannot locate the icon anywhere on my cell. it only has 2 permissions. camera=(google: due to accessing only) & camera light=(camerafree)
Love that there aren't any unnecessary permissions to creep out in my phone! I like ur explanation of the weird camera/microphone bundle. It's nice that I can choose between screen light, camera light or use both together depending on lighting needs. Finding this app was well worth the time it took to read through a bunch of different permissions/reviews of other apps. Thank u for keeping it simple! Was starting to think I'd never find a flashlight app that wasnt asking for creepy permissions xD
