Check out the permissions on most flashlight apps and you'll know why I chose this one. If you want everything you do tracked by an app and the information sold to whomever, then go ahead and use one of the bloated data spies available in large quantities here on the Play Store... if not, install this one.

Having a simple on/off button for the flashlight on my home screen is infinitely more useful than having a regular app. Icon changes color to green when the light is on. Sometimes takes a few swconds to turn on but always works for me on Samsung Galaxy W and Galaxy Note. Only complaint i have is that the icon is placed a bit low. If placed next to an icon with text under it is visibly lower in the allocated space.

If you need a flashlight then you don't want a whole app that takes you a away from your home screen to its own completely useless Window forcing you to go back & forth just to turn it off/on while you search for your keys, etc. This widget sits on your home screen and you stay there. If you want disco lights just go to a club.

can fix it so that the light stays on when the screen goes to sleep? the light is mostly useless to me with the screen of my phone shining in my eyes, and when I use it away from my eyes, I usually need it for more than a minute, and then my screen puts itself to sleep and I'm left in the dark. annoying. 3* for small and simple. will be 5* app if you can actually keep the light on until widget is turned off. Works ok.. sometimes its delayed. Sometimes it force closes and I HATE how the widget size is smaller than all the other icons

It's inconspicuous, has no ads, and doesn't force u into the actual app when u press it. That was my biggest pet peeve with most other flashlight widgets because that defeats the purpose of having a widget. But it does what it's supposed to, and does so very well!

Worked very well, but the delay for swithing on the light was horrible on my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini (8+ seconds). Worked wonders on my previous phone, but I replaced it with a quicker widget on this one.

Might work on other devices but not my Z1 compact. Either crashes or does nothing.

Tried a different one before this but it kept blinking. This widget works great. Simple, limited permissions. All good.

Does what's needed and way better than more complicated apps. Wish it activated a bit faster, would get 5 stars then.

I've tried out many lights over the years. I found this one tonight and it's the best! I love this because its a widget and not an app. One click and it's on in less than 1/4 second. No opening apps clicking this then that and wasting time. Also I love that I can turn off the main screen and the led stays on. That way I can see better because I don't have a screen glaring back into my eyes. Also it's like a real flashlight.... it doesn't need internet access! Thanks for a great widget!!!

Need an app which does not put load on my device, which would be quick....and this one is the right one... I dont need fancy brightness levels and flickering effects...just an app which turns my phones flash on for emergencies and this widget is perfect :)

Downloaded it, and I can not find the widget. It is not in the list. This new update for the atrix 2 has messed everything up tho.

Wanted a simple widget to turn the led on and off without any silly messages popping up or unnecessary features, and this is it. PS. On a moto x.

No sound, no special shaking maneuvers, no ads. Just a simple light with a switch. Nice. Don't ever change.

Please fix this, would perfectly but didn't turn off. Will give five stars if it gets fixed.

Crashes when trying to turn it on, and after that won't do anything (at least not until reboot).

As soon as I placed the widget on the screen, the LED turned on. Could not turn off without powering down.

After installing this application and using it go some time, I learned that my Note 10.1 actually had a built in widget that did just this.

Works as expected on Galaxy Note II, though it is a bit slow to turn on. Also, the icon is not aligned vertically with other widgets. Nice that there are no ads.

I love this widget. The only thing I would change is adding text to the bottom so the icon lines up properly.

The LED had a small delay in turning on, no biggie. But the main issue is when I lock my screen, the LED turns off. After unlocking the screen, the app is still acting like the light is still on.

I wanted a flashlight that needed the bare minimum of permissions, and this one fit the bill. Works great.

Aub. B. Dec 16, 2013

The small size and short permission list are all that you need. I saw a 4.7MB one while looking for this. Yuck.

Great widget, does what it says. No need to enter the "app" as many others to turn on the phone flash.
