I like the site more than the app, and while it's frustrating having had to upgrade to a Pro account in order to save my gallery in full, I've always been (mostly) happy with the platform. I'm not sure if the (basic) photo editor works on the app, and it's frustrating how the photostream jumps back to the top, after scrolling down and viewing an image.

This app could be better. The auto uploader we is unreliable. The scroll bar is positioned so that you easily hit it accidentally and you inadvertently jump forward. You don't see the same effort put forth with other apps to continuously improve. I expected that when they forced everyone to pay, they would have made some enhancements. As a free app, I was satisfied with it just being functional. Now I will look for another place to move my photos.

Would love to give this app 5 stars and pay for the pro version. However, there are simply too many issues with the app. 1) media uploaded via Auto-Uploader is always out of order. For older photos taken before the Flickr install, it's just completely scrambled, often mixing photos and videos from different months together. 2) the app itself crashes all the time. Not when I'm using it, but when it's running in the background. I simply can't justify paying for the full version.

It was great at first, but in the last few months Flickr has stopped uploading my photos. I just get constant messages multiple times per day Flickr has stopped working even with great Wi-Fi. Flickr has managed to upload maybe 8 photos in the last 2 months and I'm nowhere near my storage limit for a free account. Very disappointed. I'm going to need to find some new storage for my photos and videos. I'll probably try Shutterfly. Maybe something that has a better way to organize photos.

Flickr is an excellent place to share my pictures. While it's primarily geared towards photography , it has been surprisingly receptive to my paintings and digital art. However , I do think that there is still room for improvement. I would like to see more features such as follow suggestions and curated collections similar to those on Google+ ( R.I.P. ). Overall , I like Flickr very much and look forward to seeing new developments.

Increasingly frustrating experience. Omitting the side scroll bar with the date is enough to make me find a new platform. I have tens of thousands of photos from the past 12 years I've been a Flickr member and I'm reaching the point where it will be less of a hassle to move them to a different place than continue paying a monthly fee for an app that doesn't even automatically upload pictures anymore without me force pushing it, despite the options I have enabled.

Used to be a 5 star app, but the auto-uploading function has stopped working properly. Has been an ongoing issue for at least 9 months now with little to no response from developers on a fix. Really unfortunate for what used to be a great app and my go-to for my cloud photo storage. Considering the Google and Amazon alternatives more and more these days.

Its slow to use. I take a photo, open up the app and have to wait for the photo to upload before i can do anything. The interface feels clunky, I find myself going back and forwards in the app a lot to do simple tasks. I like the flickr service and have paid for the pro subscription but it would be nicer if this app was just a little slicker.

Put up with the difficult upload selection for a long time (tiny thumbprints of the selection view, hard to see which one I want to upload). Now it's impossible to find old photos! Please bring back the scrollbar. Especially as after viewing one picture, it takes you back to the top of the list! I have pro account and some thousands of pics. It's a drag to try and find an alternative for Flickr but seems there's no other choise really as it keeps getting worse.

I am experiencing two bothering issues. First one, it is crashing very often. And secondly, very disturbing, the auto-uploader make errors in the "taken date", hence, some pictures and videos have to be looked for and modified from the camera roll, what is an actual nightmare... Additionally, camera roll scrolling experience could be improved to search for dates, and it would be nice to have the option to modify take date from the app (not depending on the website)

used to be so much better. you can no longer scroll through the complete photostream (it only goes back about 200 photos). so there's no way to find old photos that haven't been labelled. and the 'Select' button is gone. so i can't change e.g. the privacy of multiple photos at once. I use it every day but this is forcing me to go back to the PC 😵

First, the camera roll was replaced making it hard to get to pictures of two three years back. it uses a lot of data and its not easy to scroll down thousands of pictures back. Secondly, pictures are at a risk of being deleted after January 2019. how do you expect me to select each picture and download it. one of the most unfriendly apps I have used. updates are supposed to make things better not worse. Is anyone ever listening to the complaints??

Ric. B. Apr 19, 2019

Since moving to a Note9 last year I no longer get push notifications. It also crashes when idle in the background (when a notification comes in?). The UI is also a bit flaky when scrolling through images. When it was free I was prepared to put up with it but now we've been forced to subscribe to avoid having our pictures deleted it's unacceptable. Latest update has removed the Stats tab. Makes me wonder why I ever subscribed now.

Works, mostly. The random crashes go away if you disable power saving for the app. Photos upload but there needs to be a progress bar (especially when there's a bunch). Facebook upload needs to work... the feature is obviously supposed to be included, it just doesn't do anything even if your accounts are connected. Video thumbnails don't show up in the app nor do collections. Hmm... I think i just talked myself out of another star.

Absolutely LOVE Flickr. The app works extremely well, as does your website. Most of the negative reviews are due to slow loading. Understand, if you are on a slow network or a slow device, HD pictures will load slow. It's not the fault of the app and I've had no issues with pictures loading quickly on my S7 with a 20Mbps internet connection. Facebook could definitely learn a thing or two from your developers. Tags work so well for photography (and are extremely underrated) and the photo organizer is excellent for batch photo processing. The one feature I would love to see added is the option to edit EXIF data through the site or app (Camera Body, Lense, etc.).

Even after Flickr became a paid service, decided to keep it due to tons of photos saved throughout the years. However, the new paid version is actually than when it was free through Yahoo. Finding an older photo is a nightmare ad they removed the month and year from the side bar and once you click on any photo to view it, the screen goes back top to the newest photos and I have to do the entire scrolling again just to get back to where I was. Just horrible UI design.

Flickr has always been a good app but recently with the changes, it's been inconvenient to say the least. Apart from no timeline, I now can't share photo's to my phone or anywhere else. I appreciate and understand the transition and have also been following the forum. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon and can raise your rating back to a 5 star where it has always been.

Chu. S. Jul 4, 2019

The latest update is a step backward. The ability to scroll by month is gone, only a set number of your photos can be viewed stacked in one long roll. If you view a photo and exit, you go right back to the top. Notifications seem to work, ahem, sometimes? Big cost increase for Pro level and unapologetic two day service break for upgrades (not to be reflective of the app itself) in addition to the lousy app has me less than pleased overall.

Owa. W. Aug 10, 2019

Trying to navigate to older photos is impossible with this version of the app. All my early images are now lost to me! Whenever I look at an image after scrolling down for ages to look at an earlier image, when I click back to the All it zooms back up to 'nearly' the top again. Waste of money, considering how many free solutions there are to image storage, failures like this shouldn't happen. There seems little point in continuing with this.

I have been in Flickr for 3 years now and never had any issues until recently. The app is continuously crashing even when it's not open. i have sent multiple feedbacks and yet it seems there is no resolution. It is also slowing my phone processor. If it cannot be fixed soon you will see many dropping their accounts on android.

App is overally good, but there's some issues that must be adressed. First, last update broke notifications inside the app, and when someone faves my photo, for example, it won't appear unless I open notification tab. Second, photo editor is also broken. When I want to edit photos after uploading and save them, app constantly says Saving Photo Failed, which id really annoying. So, it would be nice if these bugs could be sorted out in certain time. Cheers.

Had an Account on Flickr since 2011 used mainly for commenting and faving. then in 2016 I thought I would do it for real and back then it was great. Just recently it's getting worse. Constant crashes, Will not let me on, And worse of all I took the plunge to get Pro so none of my pictures would get wiped. As I had well over the 1000 limit. The handy Timeline Feature Has gone. The Stats Bar at the top gone. and if it doesn't let you on. nightowl1997 on Flickr 👍🏻

I totally agree with 'top critical' review written by Ugur. I pay and use Flickr as a backup. Whilst the autobackup is a great assist, should I lose or switch phone, the camera roll function of the previous version app was better. They have lost the date thread, so no way to quickly scroll back in time. Even worse, having scrolled down through the 'all' photos, and click on one to see thr date, or detaila, when you click back, it returns to the top and the latest photos. Sort it out.

Mic. T. Mar 2, 2019

Constant crashing interrupting my experience with other apps on my phone. Nothing like shooting a video and having a window interupt saying "Flickr has crashed" over and over. 10 million downloads and they can't fix this annoying problem. When are they going to incorporate Flickr mail into this app? An obvious necessity to Flickr users. Get with the program.

Meh. U. V. Jun 8, 2019

With a recent update on the android app, the "camera roll" has been replaced with "all" section. As this section has the same layout with the "public" section, there is now no easy way to access older photos. In the previous version, as soon as I scrolled, the app used to show a handle to scroll to find a certain date on the camera roll. Now it doesn't come out, you have to keep scrolling forever. How do you expect one to find an image from 3-4 years ago? Total mess up of a good app!

ON. T. Dec 10, 2018

Aw too bad they changed. Free accounts are greatly limited now. It figures...they want you to pay to keep what used to be free. Otherwise I would have given it 4 stars. But they get 2 now. It's not super expensive, but you know what happens - they get you to sign up at low rates and when you get used to using it and spend a lot of time uploading and storing photos and then they start to raise the price higher and higher and higher. No thanks! Bye bye Flickr.
