The search function doesn't work at all and comes up with no results even for content that I know is there. And so far I've had no success uploading any of my photos. The apps blank screen default offers no clue as to what is going on. The only way to access Flickr on my phone is via the browser, the app doesn't seem to work at all
Not that good as I expected. It's really inconvenient to use this SM in this app b/c it lacks functionality. I can't change my username there, I can't change background pic (in "three dots" menu there are simply no such options). Computer version is much better... Hope this app will be improved gradually in future updates! (PS my phone is Android 10 and I use a not-Pro version of Flickr.)
- Both uploading and downloading of photo sometimes does not work, even if I use stable Wi-Fi connection. Photo upload does not start after I select photos, but I can upload it after reset app process, it means this is bug in the app. - Exif data disappears from local file when I download "original" version through save feature, although online version certainly has exif data.
Despite being available for years and having a download size 10 times that of most other apps, it has poor functionality and a terrible user interface. The desktop website is far better. 2 (of many) examples desktop has but are lacking in mobile app: 1) search has some minimal but useful filters, 2) can update your profile. Flickr, please don't reply to this review and just tell me that my "feedback" will be sent to the developers. Get the app to have the desktop functionality first!
Flickr feels like a nicer and more professional version of Instagram. With a simple UI to help users navigate, and ads that are hidden alongside other photographs, Flickr is definitely one of the better apps in it's category.
I love Flickr but I usually use my computer to view my photos and my friends photos. The app is a bit easier to use that the online site. I wish they would change the way you can delete photos on the online site. It's difficult to navigate when you want to delete photos that were uploaded by mistske.
Uploading only works about 50% of the time. Often have to restart it. Also the notifications tab stopped working a few weeks ago, have tried reinstalling but it only comes up with 'welcome to flickr'.
Update... The slew of recent one star ratings are from precisely sorts of auto upload freeload accounts that this platform needs the least. Good riddance. This app is utopia for viewing photographs and discovering/following new creators compared to any other. It's virtually free of marketing bs and other noise. Paid is worth every penny. This mobile app itself has been better than IG for years and continues to become moreso. Viewing photography is actually enjoyable here. Full stop.
App freezes, uploads fail, unreliable. My phone is pretty modern and high spec. Yet this app often fails, despite uninstalling, rebooting, etc. SORT THIS OUT FLIKR. Update Apr 2022. Eventually fixed. But problem returned. Flikr help just asked how much memory my phone has. (I have lots of free space). STILL NOT WORKING. Update month later. Brand new phone. App still not working. Total rubbish.
Been on for over a year and MY GOD its great, very easy to use and the right simplicity but not lacking The people on their (photographers) and I bet staff are amazing 👏 Flickr FOREVER!! 😍🥰 Research me in search bar eeqool photos (no U), I do mandala, kaleidoscope and mosaic pictures from natural resources (rock, wood and stone) I even do them with man made things like engines and computers You may like my style HAVE A LOOK👍
(1) The User Interface of the App is very budget. As if it belongs to 2015. (2) The Favourite button is missing from the list or very hard to find. (3) Search Engine of Flickr is one of the worst. Why not partner with DuckDuckGo?
Please consider: 1. Scroll to the top. 2. Removing left and right padding. 3. Portrait images to be full width and auto height. 4. Option for choosing paging instead of infinite scroll along with option to save position in a thread. 5. Top bar navigation hidden but available on click/slide from everywhere in app.
Issues with uploading from app. I've been a member of Flickr since 2006. It's a great photography community. The app often has issues uploading, where it says it's uploading but the upload fails, so I have to upload via my laptop. I've tried logging out and back in. Uninstalling and reinstalling, and still problem persists. Using Android 11 on Oppo Find X2Pro.
Would be great if flickr worked on PC but no just sits there loading and this app is frustrating the feedback button in the app comes up with invalid link everytime I click on it and this is just after I updated this app and please make it so we can put the dates the photos were taken instead of when it was uploaded not sure if there's an algorithm on this app but getting views is hit and miss and I pay for a pro account so frustrating fix the bugs
I L💛VE Flickr! I did a LOT of research before choosing Flickr as my main social media app, and I'm super happy with my choice! 😁 The app is a tiny bit different than other social media apps I've used (and thank goodness for that!), but once I posted photos from my phone a few times, I totally have the hang of it. I like that Flickr is always being updated—I believe Flickr will keep improving and only get better because that's been my experience over the past few years. YAY for Flickr! 🌟🥳
I love Flickr, I come sometimes to see my old photos, to remind myself, that I am a creative person, and that no matter what phone you have, you can make some nice photographs. Also, it keeps some of my best memories safe, to remind me how great life was, is, and can be.
I have been using Flickr in the past decade as main storage for family photos & videos. The auto-uploader never worked properly in Android. You have to open the app and click the auto upload circle for it to start uploading.
Love how it uploads by date. Would love to see a Facebook uploader for Flickr soi can upload all my pics here by data as I've been on flickr longer and the missing part in the middle all the pics went to Facebook. After all my computer's and hard drives were stolen it was only the pictures I had up online that remain to be seen.
Good service, bad application. There is no dark theme for the app. There is no sorting in the Favorites section. There are no page numbers in the favorites section, that is, you have to scroll until your fingers get tired and you will probably never reach the end of the Favorites section if you have more than a couple of thousand photos in it. Thumbnails always loads slowly, despite the high connection speed.
The app is great! I think it's laid out very well, transitions look nice, and I like how they put their own spin on some little things, like loading animations and swiping between photos. I think the app's home experience is nice, though I'd like an option to hide the most recent comments on posts, as I feel it's just a little cluttered that way. Nevertheless, the app is great, and I enjoy seeing all of the posts that the community makes!
Incredibly frustrating. If you are using anything other than a phone to view the app, you need a lot of patience. Contacted site for help, got told uninstall and reload, how many times do you need to do this for a consistent result. Example, one person I follow, get 3 different lots of images, between phone and tablet, 1 is from email from flickr, 2nd is from opening tablet to view larger image, 3rd is completely different gallery. Possibly paying for Pro would help? Not interested.
"I'll give it 5 when I have spent a but more time. Great selection of Beautiful, Creative, Exciting, submissions from all venues and lifestyles. No, I'll give you the 5th Star in anticipation of more Wonderful, Creative, Quality, and Yes... Seductive and Erotic Works of Art." "Still give it a 5 for ease if use and wonderful content... without hassles, prejudice, or unwarranted censorship. Thanks Again."
When uploading a single album, why isn't there a 'Select All' option instead of having to select every pic? Or even better, just selecting and uploading the entire album and it's label. In that same vein, an improvement in the Organizer would be to reduce the number of clicks needed to delete a batch of pics. Selecting 'Delete' and then confirming it 1x is enough IMO and on every other platform I've used. And please eliminate the 'Thanks' requirement at the end. Why do I need to thank Flickr for doing this? It's an annoying and unneeded requirement, especially when working with large numbers of pics and having to repeat it many times.
Constantly struggles loading the full resolution of photos. Has no indicator or buffering symbol to show when the higher quality finally loads. Its constantly disappointing to open this app when i want to show my friends the detail in my photos and the app (or website for that matter) doesnt load the image without compression or even show if its still trying to load the higher resolution. Its been like this for a while so its pretty clear user interface is not a high priority for their customers
I love the Flickr app. It streamlines the process of uploading my photos and makes it easy to visit contacts and leave constructively positive comments. The ease of operation makes Flickr more enjoyable and fun for me! Well put together. Congrats! ❤
Meh. I never use my phone to post photos to Flickr and I don't need to view them on a tiny screen. Worse, notifications are not updated and the app is awkward at best.
Easy to use and reliable so far, adverts not too intrusive. Only use it for viewing as upload from a laptop. Do find touching a photo and it being faved too sensitive.
The app was working great, (have been w Flickr since '09) until I got a new phone ☹️ Now, ever since May 20th, none of my new phone photos have gone to my camera roll 😑 Both phones were droid, Samsung Galaxy. Do I need to reinstall the app for Flickr to recognize the new phone?? 🤔
Flickr changed hands, immediately doubled the subscription price and think that turning the screws on the free accounts will make the slightly discounted subscription fee palatable. By claiming you have costs to pay, and that as soon as Flickr was purchased the operating costs immediately doubled? Or was it an opportunistic gamble that people would accept the high cost for what is glorified expensive cloud storage?
I'm new to Flickr and liking it so far. Many remarks about the app though: - I can't find the option to Auto-Uploadr ONLY the camera pictures from my phone. Right now it's putting every little screenshot and every picture I've ever sent in a text online. - Browsing the local pictures on your phone is not easy to reach (you have to go to the Flickr camera functionality and then click the left bottom icon) - No ChromeCast option. I had to download (and pay for) FlickFolio app for that.
