Category : Simulation
Essential for FSX users. Allows you to see exactly where you are without having to bring up the default map option in FSX which basically takes you out of the flight while you're looking at it. Love this app.
i liked the trial and bought this, is a great addition to the simulator, very easy to connect and now I know where i am flying, the name of the cities, lakes, parks... working great in my galaxy tab s.
This is a great piece of software and the support (from personal experience) is second to none. Definitely would recommend.
Both this app and the server that runs on pc installed without a hitch, connected seamlessly and run smoothly. I have also installed flight guage by the same people had them both running on my tablet and was swapping between them as required with no problems. Great app thanks.
only thing nav switch stopped working can make plan but cant switch back to nav
I've been using both apps by this developer and strongly recommend both, though this one has the edge with the map. If you use FSX try the apps. A huge thank you to vine ripe software.
As others have said, this app just works. It does exactly what it says and it does it well. Installation of the server on my PC was a breeze. Interface on the tablet is a no brainer. I was using FsMovMap, but this has so many more features and functions and it just looks better. It looks like something you'd see on the panel of just about any aircraft.
It was perfect, but after some updates it keep crashing after it been up for awhile
Such great value and so easy to set up. Hope this developer continues to focus on FSX apps and continues to improve and refine them. I just bought his Gauges app and can't wait to start using it. Keep up the fantastic work!
Love it! Just wish the map could display regional airports rather than just major ones.
I wouldn't say this is a 'must-have' app for FSX, but it's a 'must-try-before-you-buy' app! Once tried, I defy you not to buy it as it adds so much to FSX (or FSX:SE). I'm using it on a Win 8.1/Tesco Hudl 2 (8.3" Tablet) combination and it performs perfectly! This really is a worthwhile addition to your FSX library of 'very worthwhile' add-ons; it is simply superb! Thank you to the dev Eric, for your hard work! I, for one, much appreciate it!
Absolutely amazing app. Brillant work
Works perfectly on my Nexus 7! Had a small problem with my FSX installation at first which meant it didn't run the free PC software needed, but the developer helped me to resolve with prompt replies and a swift solution. Thank you!
I recommend this to all FSXers.
Just what I need to complete my panel.
This app is probably one of the best (and best value) addons I have bought for FSX. Small server installed easily onto PC then all you have to do is start this app, hit connect and thats it. So simple and works smoothly on my network - no lag or stutters. Just a little request though! Could you include a few military jets, trainers, transports etc in the choice of aircraft icons, and also the option to make the icon smaller compared to the map. Thanks.
This deserves a 6th star. I've logged more than 20 hours with this app and all I can say is... thank you. I have a love/hate relationship with my quest to fully understand and implement navigation in FSX. It has been rewarding, but often frustrating, as not all planes operate in the same manner. FlightMap has proven to be a universal GPS tool that makes it incredibly easy to get from A to B, change nav points on the map, and keep my eyes on the essential gauges. When zoomed in close, it couldn't be easier taxi my plane around even the biggest airports. It connected to my first flight without a hitch. No problems whatsoever. The only drawback may be that I may rely on this app completely for navigation, and deny myself the satisfaction of learning the proper way to do things. It potentially pulls me out of the simulation. Although, who says I can't fly a Cessna in real life while using a tablet GPS? Updates? Alt skins? Swap instruments? Open source panel for mods? I want. If you play FSX, buy this app. No brainer.
This is really great! If they come up with another app that displays the radio comms, i'll get it as well!
Love to see this app work on devices other than tablets. I use different apps for fsx and would love to use this on my galaxy Note.
This is great, I hadn't even finished a flight with the trial and I had bought it! Does everything I'm after, works just as well on my 7" tablet as it does my 10". Great app and great price, what more could you want?
The 7" version is too simple. All it shows is the map and compass heading. While that is useful, there's no other info like altitude and speeds not even in text form. The connection to FSX is easy as pie. It works but quite simplified on my nexus 7.
Very simple setup. I especially like the "Plan" function that gives a QDM vector to waypoints.
Easy to connect to FSX, works really well... adds an extra dimension to the sim.
Love this app, works like a charm.
Good looking and easy to use moving map for FSX. As a comment to the above review by "Charles".. the RXP flightplan shows up automatically if you have LinkGPS=on set in the rxpgns.ini file for the airplane :-) A bargain, and a great FSX companion if you have a 10" Android tablet!
I appreciate how simple it is. The link method just works. Almost no configuration at all is needed. Genius. As a moving map, it does not try to be more than it is. Just a great little moving map linked to the flight simulator with multiple map display options. Additionally displays in real time the important navigational information. Speed, Heading and Altitude on the side. As a bonus, FSX Flight Plan routes automatically appear and can be turned on and off for those that use the default FSX flight planner or plans created in Plan-G loaded into FSX. Hopefully they figure out how to read the plan from RXP GNS Garmin products installed in FSX planes. That would be a boon to this product. If you could display VFR and IFR charts for the US and Canada as an option under the plane, I would pay $15 for this app all day long. :) May I suggest a button that launches Fltplan mobile? These make a great companion as fltplan mobile has all the approach plates, stars and sids for all of North America. Charles.
Been using this with fsx for ages. Great app for following map progress.
There are many apps intended to be add ons for FSX. FlightMap isn't just a moving map app. It allows the user to create waypoints, import flight plans, navigate and do lots of interesting stuff - including "sightseeing flights". It can even mimic a GPS and has a nice set of avionics onscreen. It's a specially amazing experience to fly over photo realistic add on sceneries and see your aircraft in real time over the area on Google maps. By far the best Android app for FSX I've bought thus far, and one of the best amongst all categories of apps I use. The auto zoom feature helps bush flyers and helicopter pilots alike. Congrats on the development of such a great app, Eric!
Great app , fast connection and sync times. Gauges are not working on Samsung tab S3 though, they are half off the screen? any solutions Edit: Yes, its the new 9.7" screen, the gauges are behind the pannel and offset, making them unreadable. the map section itself works fine
