Flip's Timer
I wrote the timer to help my son (Flip), who has developmental delay, and am happy to share it with you for FREE with NO ADS. It is modeled after visual timers used to assist children with sensory disorders. As such, it is extremely effective in many situations, helping children to cope with transitions from one activity to another. But, many people use it for a very simple kitchen timer! You can choose from several preferences like an audible alert, the duration of an entire rotation, and whether or not to display the time remaining in numeric format.

Update 3/28: Timer works exactly as it should - thank you! I want to love this app, and I'm sure I will when I can turn off the alarm. I have to turn off my Asus Transformer to stop the sound. I'll update my rating when we get this straightened out. 3/17 update: now there is no sound at all :-(
Update - the changes/fixes work perfectly!! Thank you so much! This app is top rate! Original review 02/24/14 - I was looking for a simple, (free) app that I could use to visually help keep my daughter focused on her studies. This app is just what I was looking for! My only beef with it (and the reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars), is that the timer sound does not go off, if my device's screen has turned off - despite the time running out. Also the time selector is super sensitive and easy to bump.
Simple, easy to understand, easy to set up. I use it at work, to help me stay on task with boring paperwork.
The best, simplest timer ever. It helps me to focus. So bye bye distractions.
It's a good time but you have to go through the whole songs every time you need to change the amount of time... Would be nice to have can few basic preset times at easy access
Simple. Easy to use. Best feature is that it's quick to set by sliding the wheel on the screen. One of my 'go to' apps in my toolbox.
However, I can't turn on the sound alert when the time is up. I have selected different alert tones but nothing has worked.
I like that the digital display is there but that the focus is on the visual passing of time. As improvement suggestions, I'd like to be able to (1) change the color and (2) save presets of duration & colors, so I can link a color with a duration scale (check Skywise Kids Timer app as an example)

This is exactly what we needed to help our son with transitions. We really appreciate that it is add free and has no special permissions needed. So thankful for this!

I just have a question how do I start the timer over before the 5 minutes is up? And can I program it for longer?
This timer is exactly what I needed. Hoping that it might be released for the windows environment as well.
Better than many alternatives
Awesome and simple time out timer for a 2.5 year old. My daughter now can easy see how long she in time out for and will patiently look at the time and wait for it quietly. It also allows her to calm down and stop the tantrum. If she gets up before the time is up, she can clearly see the time is reset because it is all red again. So now, she knows it is better to sit quietly and wait for it. Thank you. This is a good example of genius simplicity.
