FLIR ONE

With the ability to see what the naked eye can’t, the FLIR One provides a visual image of minute temperature differences, giving users the power to see in the dark, observe invisible heat sources, compare relative temperatures, and see through smoke.
Created to enhance the FLIR One device experience, the FLIR One app, available on Google Play for free, provides a simple and intuitive user interface with a variety of functions that make it easy to collect and share compelling and useful thermal images. It can load captured images directly to the photo library and allows users to easily share on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media channels, among many other features.

The FLIR One houses its own battery source that can power the device for more than 45 minutes of continuous use.

Connect with the FLIR One at facebook.com/FLIRONE, twitter.com/flir_one, and youtube.com/flirseetheheat.

It seems they took away the ability to disable automatic calibration. I nearly stopped using flir because of this but came back to see if that issue has been fixed. It hasn't. When you want to look for a cold or hot spot, relative to the background temp, having the camera recalibrate every few seconds is incredibly annoying and makes it unusable because all the colors keep changing. What's the point of a thermal camera when the colors change every few seconds?

Multiple Android devices and have had it work once with one of them, and that just until we put the device down. It's not even giving any diagnostic information about what's wrong. Having to use different 3rd party apps to even see if a brand new FLIR One Pro is connected, much less to get those gorgeous pictures on the box. We got the FLIR Pro instead of the Seek because it was supposed to be superior for a bunch of more polished image functions and looking like that is just not realistic.

When I use this app on my Nokia G10 and plug in the sensor, one of the following happens: - Nothing, the prompt to connect the sensor just remains. - The app crashes. - I get to the FLIR viewer screen, which will usually freeze in the first frame it captures. I have been able to take a photograph in a very limited number of cases. I would be very happy if I could actually use the sensor I purchased.

The camera is a good product, but the app isn't. The function "Lock Span" is not available, as opposed to the promises in the user manual and product descriptions. This function is vital to compare "before" and "after" scenarios. Reason for me to return the camera and consider it useless. A pity, as this function was apparently available in older app versions.

The app does not work with Huawei P20 lite. It detects the camera but nothing is happening. It is surprising to see so many problems with the camera for that particular phone and yet the manufacturer does not seem to care. The camera works on other phones. Very disappointing. The hardware itself is very good and provides an amazing thermal image, especially when superimposed with the color image.

This app works with the Flir One Gen 3 Android USB-C edition on my Samsung S21 running Android 12. Charge the flir, install the app, plug it in and I can easily use this to find places around the house to insulate. The UI is easy to use but you will need the Flir tools app to add multiple spot temp measurements. Overall it is a decent enough app although it can definitely use more features that are in the Flir tools app.

Just got the Flir One Pro for my birthday and can't use it with my Pixel 6 Pro phone running Android 12. The app dies as soon as I plug in the camera. Very expensive paperweight at the moment. I will update my rating when I get to actually use the camera. Edit, the December 2021 update fixed the issues with the Pixel Pro. Really enjoying using the Flir camera and app!

Usable but needs some love. Like basic settings such as selecting where to store media. Our phones dont have much internal space but are equipped with sd-cards, but we can't save to it. I did see some improvements though compare to the old version.

Got the app to test the insulation on my house. Took me aomg time to find the on off switch but then the camera worked. pity the instructions with the camera are designed for people with telescopic eyes. Font in 2 point text. On screen buttons not much use and in general I would not recommend this app or the camera that it supports. It's only in American as the UK English link breaks the app. American is not the same language as English, despite Americans thinking it is. Not worthy.

App is no longer crashing immediately after connecting the camera, but i'm conflicted about giving a higher review because it took two and a half months to get an update to fix it. That's two and a half months that I couldn't use the camera. That was after about one month's of owning it.

I had previously given 1 star because the app was not working on Android 12 and my new Pixel 6 Pro. Took a long time to fix, and I even provided a logcat for the developers, but FINALLY the issue is fixed! I am only giving 4 stars right now because of how long I had to wait for a resolution to this.

Happy to have (finally) received the updated FLIR One app that supports the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. It does the job and seems to work well. Hopefully FLIR continues to improve their responsiveness and is better able to support consumer products in the future.

As of the 12/6 app update, FLIR has fixed issues with Android 12 and the Pixel 6. My FLIR One Pro is working again! I only wish I'd have received an update directly from support after I spent the time sending a stack trace of the failure, and contacted them directly.

I had previously given the app one star for crashing every time I plugged my new FLIR One Pro in to my Google Pixel 6. It took over a month from my bug report (both here and on the website), but I'm happy to report that v3.4.0 now works with my Pixel 6. Taking off one star because over two weeks passed between release of the new version and when I was able to update through Google Play. The company should make the latest APK directly available to those experiencing and reporting issues.

I never know if it's going to work. When I connect the camera and start the app I frequently get the message "permission denied" with no explanation beyond that. It renders the expensive camera useless. I hope the developer can explain what's going on and how to fix it.

Meg. S. Jan 23, 2022

App doesnt start frequently. Crashes almost every time using the app after only a few seconds of looking at something. Using note 10+ with micro usb to usb-c for phone. Maybe cord cant transmit the data effectively?

I too have a Pixel 6 running Android 12 and the app crashes as soon as I plug the camera into the phone. My Pixel 3 with Android 11 worked fine. Edit: My Pixel 1 with Android 12 works. There's something wrong when using the Pixel 6 specifically then. Also, responding to each complaint with the same boilerplate "file a ticket on our website" isn't helpful. If you can't repro then it's worth investigating further but tons of people have the same problem evidently. Edit: it works now as of 3.4.0.

No luck, works on my Samsung 10e, does not work on Samsung Galaxy tab A8 even though the website says it will. At least with the 3rd party app I get a fleeting thermal pic before it crashes. Very disappointing.

Jor. L. S. Dec 20, 2021

3.4.0 Thank you Developers! Pixel 6 compatibility is here. I also like the UI improvements but do keep working on that please. Was actually a fairly quick response to fix such a major issues. Well done 👍.

Not working at all. I've tried every tip, trick and piece of advice that I can find and am trying to get in touch with customer service to find out if the product is meant to be used differently or just faulty. I open the app, turn on the FLIR, plug it in, and am just met with the message to plug in the device and turn it on. I think either the product or app is just malfunctioning.

Is it really not possible to save temperature information associated with the colors in the image, except for the "hot and cold spot" indicators? The app shows a temperature color bar in the camera view, but doesnt save the color bar with the images. So, there's no way to use a saved image as a temperature map later, except for the 3 stupid pixels they let you choose. What use is that for measuring anything?? If a FLIR rep wants to explain what I'm doing wrong, I'm happy to update this review.

Jef. V. Nov 30, 2021

Minimal functionality. It's clear FLIR still does not put any effort into their consumer grade equipment. Software allows you to change the color map between about 8 different ones and get a single point measurement. Anything more and you have to go to the flir tools 2019 app (FLIR tools doesn't work with it.) Would actually be useful if they integrated the flir tools functionality into this app.
