Could not connect to my Pixel 6, called Customer Service, very friendly but no success. IMO app not compatible with latest Android 12 security settings. When I used an older Motorola Droid phone I was able to connect the wifi and get the sensors online. Once connected to the wifi the app sems to work well on any phone and gives good data. App needs to improve on initial setup routine, way to complicated for novice non-tech users. Would be great to have a Windows version too.

Would be nice to see a little more attention to the app. Flo by Moen is a great concept and does seem to work well, but as with quite a few things it could use some improvements. I think the cloud sometimes acts up and you don't know whether if it's on your end or the cloud. As the customer you would hope that things are being maintained on the cloud side and also with the app updates. It's a real shame to let something so good be ruined by the lack of upkeep for the servers.

This post is more of a call to fix a major issue. I will change my rating when it is fixed. As of now, I cannot use the application because it is impossible to complete the sign up process. During the sign up process, after you ask for quite a lot of info might I add, your system does not send a verification email. I have been trying to sign up and I have been pressing "resend verification email" for the past 24 hours now. Either your mail system is down or something else has to be fixed.

Following all steps multiple times with no success. The Flo network is weak and cannot be accessed. glad the product was free, so I'm not out any expense, but had hoped for a discount on the homeowners insurance. Can't get this thing connected, can't retrieve the all important insurance letter. This is dumb. It's 2022, time for an upgrade to your install software.

Trash application. Constantly resets itself, even when following directions. The fact that they haven't fixed the issues for years now is a joke. Read the old reviews to see. Update: make sure location is turned on, took a few more tries, but it did eventually connect.

Failed to pair countless times. Throws the same error each time i try. The status light seems to say it is paired, but without the app recognizing it, what can i do? Is this app supported any longer? The app is incredibly slow requiring minutes to show a page. Maybe i am missing something obvious, but then the app design should mitigate against that.

Good app but it has a big problem. Sometimes when I open the app to test if it's registering my water flow, nothing is happening. I have to close out the app, force close reopen and twice before it reads. That's bad because it's not giving an accurate representation of water usage. This unit cost alot and if it's not working properly, what's the point. When it does work, it works great. I little confusing to find stuff but still good when it works. Please fix bugs and UI flow. Thanks.

App is horrible. Failed to recognize the connection between device and phone (confirmed by colored light) and would not complete setup. Then, I was actually able to complete setup on my wife's phone, even though it was the exact same model and tech support said that wouldn't work. After connection, the "back" button in the app won't work, so after tweaking each individual setting, the app must be forced closed and re-opened to change the next setting. Great concept, execution probably couldn't be worse. Customer service is hard to reach, and does not follow through as promised. I returned my original purchase AND the free replacement because I couldn't in good conscience pass it on to anyone else.

Overall the app is very nice, it is intuitively designed and operates both smoothly and quickly. They have added the ability to change WiFi settings, which is a massive improvement. The only thing I see the app lacking now is the ability to trend system parameters. Being able to look at system pressure over time would be very beneficial to identify any problems with a pressure regulator. A failed pressure regulator causing a ruptured pipe was actually the impetuous that led to my purchase.

Another update and lesson learned: If you need to change the email associated with your Flo by Moen account, be ready to spend a lot of time. You have to do a factory reset of the main shutoff and every single moisture detector and start completely from scratch. The lesson is don't use your regular personal email. Create a dedicated email for home automation and flo. Give that login and password to everyone in your house so they can access and control it. Also simplifies things when you sell your house. The new owner can take over the dedicated email. Update: Nov. 2020 I have used it for several months and the main issue is that it is incapable of handling garden watering as well as water softener/filtration regeneration that happens at random times. It repeatedly generates false alarms. On the plus side, I bought a handful of moisture sensors and those work well once you struggle to enable them. I wish it had a permanent sleep function so that only the moisture sensors would trigger a shutoff. Then I would only turn on the automatic flow detection when I leave the house for an extended period of time. Now I have to renew sleep every 3 days which is annoying. Older review Just upgraded and now I can't login. It seems to attempt to login and I see the dashboard screen flash by and a few other screens flash by and then it returns to the login screen. Will try uninstalling and installing again. Adding sensors is a pain. It usually fails somewhere in the setup process during firmware upgrade and you need to cancel and retry. The information during setup of a sensor is fairly useless. It tells you that it will take 15 seconds to upgrade firmware and it sits there for minutes. There is an explanation of the LED colors in a paper booklet, but nothing on the app screen where it would be much more useful. I have also sometimes made to the pairing step with my home wifi, get a message that it failed and then find out that the sensor was actually added. Bottom line is that setup is poor. Having said that, once you jump through enough hoops the system itself seems to work well. The information is useful. Haven't made it through the learning period yet, but the sensor shutoff works. Or I should say that it did before I upgraded the app. Update late Monday night: They have pushed an update and now it loads ok. Nice to see. Now please go fix your Sensor install software. Don't make me look at a tiny paper pamphlet to know what the different LED colors mean. You have a perfectly good App screen to do that. Don't tell me it will take 15 seconds for a firmware update and hang for minutes. Don't make me constantly backup and hit retry during install. Don't tell me that wifi pairing failed when it actually worked. You have a good idea and decent product, but your UI needs a lot of improvement.

App is good so far. The only thing I notice that could be improved is if I go to another app then come back to Flo app, it no longer provides real time data. In order to get it to again provide real time data, such as flow rate, I have to completely close the app down and restart. I have the Android version. This may be a result of how Android keeps apps in the background or a setting native to Android that I need to change.

Great concept but still buggy. At this point I cant tell if the problem is the app or if the Flo device loses its wifi connection to the router. When I bring up the Control panel on the app, it says "connecting" with a the spinning circle and the valve slide switch on the screen is frozen and unresponsive. Then if I try again 10 or 20 minutes later, it works fine. Perhaps a firmware and or app update can fix this. Right now it seems unreliable.

Flo App is Average and needs improved. In the app dashboard, it shows water usage in the future which is completely useless (not sure why anyone would think that wasn't zero). The app should have "now" on the far right and the full history then to the left. I will update the review once it completes "Learning" mode. I'm very concerned the full expected capability is crippled with out the their monthly subscription. I don't have a good vibe that the "Flo" features as when sold to me, are going to be there without the additional monthly charges. Prior to buying "Flow" I could not find it had a subscription fee. After I installed "Flo" is when the subscription fees became obvious (feels like a bait and switch problem).

Been using for nearly a year now. There's a lot of improvements made to the app and it's always worked well. It does require some help from the user to identify some fixtures, so it's important to help the app help you! The Flo device has also worked great and done a good job alerting me to odd activity or leak issues. Being able to monitor water pressure is important to me and the awareness brought to water usage has helped us cut down on consumption. Recommended for all home owners.

Crash now fixed and app is functioning again. Working reasonably well. Only complaint is that features get moved around occasionally making it hard to find them. Was trying to put unit to sleep for example which had been easy before as it was located right with th device status. Bit it was moved to a non intuitive menu so had to use help to find it. Has found a couple of slow leaks in our plumbing so that has been helpful.

Tre. H. Jun 25, 2020

Has potential but not ready for prime time. Nice looking interface with promising features but just try editing notifications...you can't save and go forward or back out to main menu. You wind up stuck. The only out is to close app and restart for EVERY single notification edit! Hit or miss with pairing the devices. Will say "not paired" only to find out after restarting app that it may have actually paired multiple times. Pain. Why can't any company get the pairing step right?

Air. A. D. Aug 26, 2020

All of the events are still being listed as a shower or bath. The screen login isn't stable either. Im tired of calling as the events have NEVER labeled correctly. Security for leaks, turning off/on from phone/computer and how much water is being used is the only benefits of this device. You will not know the individual fixture usages; at least not my device.

5th unit I've installed-all 1 1/4" units. I bring the system online with my Samsung note 10+, and every time it's a pita. Time outs and the app freezes up. I have to hard close the app then reload and it works for about 30 seconds or so...and yes the meter has full wifi signal. Idk about i-phones but for android this app is utter garbage. I'll be moving my customers to a different brand.

Mic. B. Apr 3, 2022

The App is not ready for use. I wouldn't even say it is Beta ready. All I want is the water leak detector but to get through registration I have to provide a LOT of information that is irrelevant. I think it is also struggling with multiple country use (vacation house is in a different country). And after fighting through all that it can't connect to the Flo server and I have to start again or try my luck (and waste my time) with their customer service. No thanks. Into the trash can.

New version will not log in. Screen flickers between login screen and the main screen many times then stops on login screen. Restarted device and it still does the same thing. Update: just got home. App does not work. Alexa does not work with it. Assuming we are past the cut off date for that. Now Flo is stuck in away mode. Had to unplug it to get water back in my house. This thing is useless unplugged. UPDATE: The newer versions have fixed my issues.

Plain and simple there is an issue with the app when using an android phone. Installing the same app on my iPad I have no issues and it reads my Gallons Per Minute correctly and in real time. I shouldn't have to log out of the app and then log back in to get the correct data on my system. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible app and customer service blames Android for it ! That's a really bad answer when all my other apps on Android have been working great for years. Issues : 1. Failed to create new account from the app multiple times from 2 different phones. Had to call customer service who created one for me and then changed password. 2. Device failed to connect to WiFi multiple times. Took me 40 minutes on the phone with customer service before it connected. 3. updated app today and not able to sign in

The app does not work, Hard Stop. The app simply doesn't work and is not stable. You may get lucky once and have it go online but guaranteed it will drop the network and never reconnect... I have a automated house with 43 devices and this is the ONLY one that won't connect or work

1* due to the painful nature it took to get these on my Mesh network. Even in 2.4ghz only mode, my mesh network was "not suppoted," if I manually entered the SSID and PW, the device connected, but would not complete the setup process. To get around this, I used my cell phone and a tablet. I drove into town, set the SSID/PW on my Phone's hotspot to the same as my home network. Then I connected the tablet to my phone's hotspot, activated all three sensors, then pulled their batteries. Finally, when I got back home, I put the batteries back in, they connected to my network fine. I reached out to Moen support with no response or support attempts. The wifi chipset is the same as all of my smart plugs, so this is purely an issue with the software/firmware that Moen has created. The sensors are great, already got an alert from my hotwater heater, the overflow had a drip. If the app is updated to support modern networks, I'll revisit my review.

App has potential, but flow rate, pressure, and temperature gauge values all either go stale or simply report wrong. Even valve open/close status is often wrong. Have to force close app to refresh. Also, the Google home/assistant integration is terrible, there are no stats in home app, or control of valve. Simply an icon with zero functionality. Adding leak sensors takes about 5 tries to be successful.

Bru. J. May 30, 2021

Mostly easy setup, but when indirected me to switch my Wi-Fi to the new devices Wi-Fi, I felt lost for a minute or two. The amount of information they want is very unsettling. If the Flo water detector that I bought had not been rated best by wire cutter, I would probably have boxed it up and sent it back. I don't like that there's yet another vendor with detailed information about me and my home waiting for someone to hack them. I just happened to dislike basement floods more.

Ant. K. Dec 3, 2020

It needs better support for long running irrigation systems and water softeners. Currently, the scheduling for exclusions from alerts, does not allow long running entries, nor advanced repeat schedules, which is a bit of an issue. Besides that and some bugs here and there, it gets job done!

Fra. V. Nov 18, 2021

Absolute garbage. Besides having to give away half my personal information just to get this stupid free water monitor, I can't even add the device to the app because it doesn't get past the Wi-Fi connection stage. I've tried to do this 10 times,I've had enough. Will be using the ring water detector.

Pet. A. Dec 13, 2020

Very buggy but it did work eventually. During user account setup, I was blocked by the meaningless message "something went wrong", despite dozens of attempts, rebooting phone, reinstall app, etc. Eventually diagnosed it to the fact that the password I was trying to use didn't not match their arbitrary rulea for what characters a password should contain. Why is the error message not more specific? Then, there were some glitches/similarly poor messaging in wifi setup, and final use. Out of space

I've set up numerous IoT devices from many brands, and this is the worst experience I've had. Numerous attempts to create an account failed. Customer service was no help. Uninstalled and reinstalled, and then I could create the account. Then the app required tons of personal data about my house, just for a simple leak detector. Then pairing the device to WiFi failed three times, per the app. But reopen the app and then it's there. I cannot trust this app or this company, frankly.
