I loaded this on my new Samsung Galaxy Tab A, and it worked with my AKAI EWI-USB, so I bought the premium version. Then my tablet said it needed to do system updates. After the update the app loaded, found the instrument, but showed no presets. No sound comes out. I've tried deleting and reloading the app, but it's the same. I tried a factory reset, but it remembers the OS update, so the app still fails. I tried sending an email to the developers, but got no response. Not happy.
Works incredibly well with my controller app BeatScratch! I plan to link to it from within the app. My one complaint: after switching SoundFonts, the synthesizer starts going kinda glitchy and restarting all the time. If I go into the Android app info for the settings, "Force stop" it, and then try again, FluidSynth plays everything beautifully. But something in switching the fonts is broken unless you do this.
I have recently built a MIDI concertina. This app works significantly better than all of the other apps I have tried ~10. It plays the sound font with very low lateny, such that I do not notice it. It allows for panning, but currently all channels are panned (so this setting is not specific per channel). I built my device using Teensy, which I would reccomend. Both hands are split into separate channels. I do not see ads int he app currently (5/2021) and am not sure what the puchase unlocks.
Keystation Mini 32: 1)Easily recognizes & connects 2)Some internal sounds acceptable, others are a little thin. 3)With my keyboard it requires a lot of resources and power. 4)This demand tells me that sticking with my pc is only practical although on a basic level the software does work. It does what it is supposed to do.
it's overall a great app but i wish the developers could add an option to change how soft or hard the sound is i mean some keyboards don't have pressure sensitivity when you play them and it always gives an output of 127 which is the hardest sound, wish i could adjust the pressure level inside the app to change the sound that comes out of my phone
It would be great if you could save patches instead of having to load every channel whenever you want 5o change. Also there is no information about what the Premium Features are. But what it does, it does very well.
So far I'm having a blast with this app. I ripped MIDI files from a few PS1 games to my computer, and set MIDI OUT to the app. I changed the voices of each channel in-app and remixed old tunes to get a totally different feel. Created new music away from home with my phone cable and an audio cable.
This is the best way I have found to play my launchpad mini on the go. I can even use my headphone jack (yes I still have one) to send the output through battery powered pedals into a battery powered amp! There are easily 1,000s of sounds and in the pro version you can record them directly from your phones mic! Perfect 5 stars any day of the week.
This app sounds and performs amazingly, and the "Chaos" SoundFont included is better than what you get in most commercial keyboards. My only wishlist items to make this better would be • Auto-connect to USB devices (if the OS supports it?) • Make the patch selection list a permanent screen in the UI rather than a pop-up modal (make the MIDI channel selection a modal instead) • Add a Delay (echo) effect alongside the existing Reverb/Chorus options Great work!
It's fine unless you play with audio. Set up is relatively simple but if you plug in earphones or take earphones out the sound becomes cracked and there's no way to fix it except to uninstall the app and reinstall and try to NEVER EVER take out your earplugs
Was perfect for my needs, but the upgrade has made it more complicated used as practice high d whistle but use other sounds. Was easy to set up and use on my Samsung phone but had to change to tablet, what a pity it worked so well before....
Very impressive low latency when played with a hardware MIDI keyboard, nice soundfont out of the box, and it even responds to aftertouch! Only issue: even with the premiun version, I haven''t found a way to save my preferred channel to instrument mappings.
It's the best app out there if you simply want to hook up one midi controller and start playing. Extremely simple, but it just works. I couldn't notice any latency even when using a complex Soundfont.
Great idea. Latency on my Samsung J6 too much; may be better on more premium models. Sounds are very good quality. If you sort latency on mid range and lower end phones you'll make a killing!! Good luck
Extraordinary! Really great app and almost zero latency. Works with screen off too. Completely satisfied and does the job perfectly.
Solid 5 stars. Perfect, literally no latency at all on S8. Only request is Multi soundfont support and maybe being able to view instruments by bank/preset number.
No frills. But works excellently with quality sound files you can download from the internet. Very good performance with midi over Bluetooth.
Edit - an update seems to have fixed this issue, and it works like it did before. A good app for using a cheaper MIDI keyboard to play a cleaner soundfront
Using this with my Biodata Sonification Device (Midisprout!) it works. The interface I use is the iconnectivity midi1 cable. Not the most beautiful eyecandy though
This works great with my Arduino BLE projects. I am curious though, does the premium version enable multiple simultaneous Bluetooth peripherals?
Works exceptionally well, I plugged my MIDI keyboard to Samsung Galaxy S10 phone ! Jus hav to select the midi keyboard from drop then there u go ! Simple as that This app has ton of varieties of souds to choose from piano, guitar, violin and SFX and more
Truly this app works flawlessly in my MIDI Novation Launchkey mk2, but the developer of the APP need to develop instruments registration bank, which will be most useful for playing live on stage professionally, need Sustain option, if not this apps is only useful for practicing at home.
it just works, man! no bells and whistles, it just does what was promised... maybe the sf file selector could remember the last used directory, but that's about the only issue I see...
This app works fine after installation. But it keeps foeced stop after phone reboot, which means every reboot, I need to uninstall and install it again.
This app is the essence of simplicity. From what I see, it does nothing except perfectly render your MIDI input via the included SoundFont, or a SoundFont (SF2) that you find and load. I just wanted the equivalent of a piano sound module, and man... this is it. Find an SF2, load it, and play. That's all there is to it, assuming your phone recognizes your MIDI keyboard. I have no latency at all with a Keystation 61 MK3 and a Samsung Note 8. Lets you concentrate on playing, not software.
