Used to replace Read rss reader which betrayed his users ("no ads for ever"... then massive update and proceed to push noisy adds each time you want to read an article) . Job is done, stable and easy to use with all the mandatory settings. Room for improvement in the UI (different display layout for instance)

Great RSS Reader - I was already a fan of the original Flym News Reader. The new version has some very nice features such as "Remove Duplicates" that the original doesn't have. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the capability to move the app to my SD card. Probably not a problem for some phones, but mine has limited internal memory. *Update: Won't load news articles. May have to go back to old version. *Update: Don't know if dev made changes, but seems to be using a lot less memory. Awesome!

I have tried many, many newsreaders and I like this one the best. It is easy to select the items you want a place them in a favorite category for reading later. I don't know anything about the underlying technology but the articles end up in nice, readable text unlike other readers. Also,, as far as I know, there is no interaction with a remote server. A nice feature that I use is that you can send the articles as a tab to Firefox on your desktop computer. Using this, you can select your articles efficiently but read them on a better screen. Unfortunately, that requires a few extra keystroke. I would love to be able to select my favorites and then send them all at once to the desktop with a single command or command sequence. I don't believe that is possible now.

The best RSS reader app. And it's free! But we need a one push option/button to download the feeds, which would automatically download the latest feeds at once for reading later without internet connection(aeroplane mode) so that we can continue to read while on a plane or where there's no internet. And we should be able to select which feeds to download. If implemented it would be perfect!

The best RSS feed reading app for my Android! I was desperate I couldn't find one with all the features I expected. It works smoothly, looks seemless, and I can schedule the time I can refresh all feeds. Also, I just needed to import a file from Mozilla Thunderbird on my computer to get all my favorite feeds on my smartphone too. Thank you so much for this amazing app!

Great, simply intuitive GUI. But atomatical feeds refresh does not refresh currently displayed news list. If you fix this, it will be very nice app. I'm missing ONE TOUCH swiping between articles in a feed by touching on left / richt side of screen in middle of height. It would be great to have option to export / import current application settings with feeds list. Thank you.

Does what it says on the tin. It is refreshing to find a feed reader that, you know, reads feeds as they come from the publisher and without force-feeding a bunch of questionable "value-adds". No inserting sponsored content or ads into the feed, full text retreival per feed if you want it, and feed organization, also if you want it and care to set it up. Simple and useful.

Is fast and simple, great! Wishlist: - enable starting with feeds overview instead of directly showing entries from all feeds, so specific feed can quickly be clicked at start. - back button when feed entries are shown leaves the app, would be great to go to feed overview in this case (back button setting). - The font of feed entries is a bit big for my taste and is not resized with font setting. - when specific feed is selected, could the feed name and it's icon be removed from every entry?

Perfect for my needs. I read a lot of webserial stories that I follow using feeds, so all I need is a way to be notified of new articles (check) and open those articles straight into my browser (check) without the program itself getting too much in the way (check) and no ads (check). Flym has been quick and responsive in use without too much extraneous schtoff I don't need. Zero complaints, five stars.

I love how simple and straight forward the RSS reader is. I can pretty much get all my sources, including YouTube subscriptions and organize them into groups. I wish you could choose the app that opens the feeds, outside of the system default apps. Example: Firefox is my default system browser but I'd rather open feeds with Firefox Focus. Or opening YouTube videos straight into New Pipe.

FANTABULOUS. Is exactly what I was searching for : Edit: I'm downgrading my ratings I've discovered the app tends to stop working after sometime, Websites stop showing up Errors creep up. Deleting and re-adding RSS feeds doesn't help. I've stopped receiving feeds from 3 different websites all from the USA, all having undergone updates recently. I've validated the RSS feeds online and their feeds show up quite well- both on online readers. EDIT 2: Reinstalling App appears to HELP SOLVE ISSUE.

Brilliant. Flym looks attractive and works well. It easily imported feeds from my previous reader (which has been abandoned by its developer & is no longer working properly). The range of options & flexibility allows you to set it up to suit your needs.

Thank you for implementing 1 of my suggestions. Others are: A) Organize feeds by alphabetical order. B) Rss search result displays feeds' readers/subscribers count & clickable feeds preview before adding feed. C) Back button opens drawer instead of exit app. E) Full text retrieval option for groups. F) Default view option: All / Unreads. G) minimize white spaces in drawer & feeds. Ty!

I like the simplicity of the layout, but even on a high-speed connection, it is way too SLOW. At least half my feeds - MOST of the time - don't load... And then they NEVER load after that. I've given this thing multiple tries, and have switched over to Feeder... which doesn't have the full page view, unfortunately, but it loads every feed!

When switching between landscape mode and portrait mode, the layout doesn't get changed accordingly. The App has now used over 1GB on my tablet so it seems that all downloaded and read articles are kept forever? Perhaps "expired articles" should be deleted Other than these, it's a very nice app and does its job

Dark mode is beautiful, app is fast and responsive. Effective at preventing duplicates. (NYTimes runs the same stories multiple times.) I've added blacklists to irritating opinion columnists. Export/import makes it easy to install on a new phone. A great app.

Simple but an excellent rss reader. Only issue : Text size feature. It doesn't work. No matter what option I pick, the text size remains "normal", which is problematic due to its large font size. Any attempt to lower the size doesn't get recognised by the app all.

Most of the feeds don't show any posts at all or only the latest one. Seems that updating only fetches the post from the actual day or something like that. Update: Now no content at all is loaded from any feed. Adding new feeds shows no changes and searching for titles of blogs shows anything else but the one with the exact title. I am pretty sure this app is a some kind of joke.

Hi dev. Thanks for this wonderful FOSS app. I'd give a solid 5 stars if you could help me out with these issues. 1) I'm trying to read news from BBC, CNN and Google News, however the thumbnails & images are not displayed. I believe there are many other news feed without images displayed too. Is there any way I can do to resolve this? 2) Tried to fetch news feed from some news channel, say Time, but it does not show anything after I refresh. It gives me an error in red font saying the rss feed cannot be loaded properly.

I like the idea and layout of this app but it simply doesn't parse most of the URL's added. Maybe it requires the specific RSS URL but it doesn't find these when searching. If it improves, I'll happily revisit the rating. Désolé.

Thanks for this great-looking, minimalist RSS reader. Works like a champ. My only wish is for categories/folders. When you accumulate lots of feeds, things can get messy without it. Never mind. I figured out how to create groups.

I recently returned to RSS feeds & netcasts. After evaluating approximately 20 free RSS reader apps, Flym came out on top. It's simple and intuitive. Unfortunately, based on the GitHub project page, this app is no longer being developed. There are a few RSS feed URL issues that can be fixed by the user manually editing the URL text. To display the xda-developers RSS feed, I had to side-install the previous Flym 2.5.5 version because the 2.5.6 update broke it. Other than that, a great app overall

Best RSS reader on Android in my opinion. Thank you so much for it. It just needs icons for 'download', 'star' and 'make unread' at the bottom for easier one-handed use. Oh, and an indicator how far down I have scrolled a text.

Simple news reader app. Allows for download of RSS feeds easily. Nice interface and the best bit is offline mode downloads content in the background when you have a connection so you don't need to use data away from WiFi. Perfect for commuting.

Developer abandoned this because of (the G company that must not be named) draconian control over developers and content. Tried to find a replacement, but keep coming back because Flym is a perfect balance of simplicity and functionality. Would encourage developer to continue updates until flagged as there are a myriad of similar (and inferior) apps still in the store and getting updates.

One of the best and utility rss news reader. "Time that entries will be kept" doesn't seem to work. Also I would suggest to add an option for app to start in "unread" or "all" tab.

Good or even awesome app ... one of the best or the best news readers I ever used... total control to choose our feed and to organize it... no extra bulky features and disciplined environment which restrict yourself from exploring and expanding... great app... thanks for it ... well done... 👍🏾

Nice simple news reader that is clean and still works with magnet links passing through to transdroid. My only request is to allow the feed font size to be smaller on the feed list and to remember your choices such as to view all posts not default to unread.
