Best iteration of concept, but no updates and freezes I love this app. It's the only one I can find that opens real bubble links so I can refer to it at any time. However, recently, it's started to freeze very often locking my phone for a while. I expect that nothing can be done about it since there has been no updates since 2017. Syncing saved links also no longer works.
It is good for opening links on the background but that is about all it is good for. It stopped signing into Google and syncing across all my devices which I'm not pleased with. It crashes too much, looses links and sometimes won't open at all. I don't know of the developer lost interest or something worse. Too bad. It was the best at one time but not anymore.I will be looking for a replacement to this app.
Great concept. Love it. Although, I'm having trouble changing the display settings. I tap on the black button, but the page is still showing white. I tapped on the serif button and still everything is sans serif. This particular issue bothers me and I hope it could be resolved, soon.
Does not meet expectations. Almost daily the bubble will disappear and any links I click won't pop up until restarting, I have to change the default browser to browse the web again. Last update was a year and a half ago according to Google. I was part of the beta program and received no additional updates. It's a great concept, but clearly the developer has no interest in continuing to pursue it.
I use it several months now. It is clearly the best for fast and smooth working with all kinds of links. Also the only 'browser' which does with 'tabs' what I like: show tabs as much as you like, open and stay until delete with a sweep. I use it as main browser for news, email, fora etc. alongside Chrome and Berry browser or something like Duckduckgo. Perfect.
Really solid (wish more apps used the format). Two things: a cloud sync issue and a desire for the bubbles to have optional magnetic to the side of the screen so I can place them centrally (maybe also separately for each tab)
This app is a very cool idea and the implementation is promising. Sad that it is no longer maintained. Could improve few things. 1. It doesn't work pasting into form elements on websites. I could for example not paste my GitHub password from my password manager. 2. Google Sync doesn't work (404 Not Found). 3. Share button should share just the URL, not some "shared via Flynx" text! 4. Add "Copy link" and "Open in external browser" as icons (and make the website title as a separate row). 5. The "Read Mode" is not very good, fails very often and loads some other URL.
Not all what I expected! I'm really bad about downloading apps I like and want to try and I go quite a while or forget about them and is exactly what i did with flynx and regreting it cause of all the great features so useful and the best thing I like is the ability to reach my desired search inqueries much faster on my throttled 2-3g network due to going over my allotted data plan! this out Skies and in my eyes searches faster than even if I did have data left! download it now!
Easily the best app of it's kind.....that is if I was able to log in and save anything. Not only does it not tell you if your logged in or not but when you sign in It either says oops or says nothing at all. I incorrectly assumed I was logged in and lost MANY saved items. 5 stars if it worked.
I used this apps for long time. But recent One UI4.0 update on my Samsung note 10 plus cause a problem. When I open flynx on bubble mode, the screen will freeze. Only when I close the bubble, then the screen is ok.. Please help fix this bug
It's not a browser, it's a background link opener... there is no omnibar/addressbar. Pretty smooth, has night mode for its article versions of applicable pages, has tabs, can redirect you to actual browser for bigger works, can alter font, text size. Takes the background activity permission.
Not as useful as it claims. Asks for unnecessary permissions. I can't instantly open links. First have to save them in the app by using the system's share feature, and then open the app again and click on the link to open it in the background. I'd rather open it in a new tab in my browser and switch between apps instead of using this app.
There's no way to enter a web address, so this can never be a main browser. It's only good for opening web pages in the background from other apps, which would be nice, except for the fact that you already have another main browser, and you want your web pages to be in the same app. There's also no way to get rid of the annoying "how it works" greeting on the main page. Lacks a lot.
Great app. The only problem is, I dislike how the app completely refuse to work without the 'read phone status' permission. Would be better if you ask for the permission again once and say that the app may misbehave. And I have never seen apps asking for contacts permission to get my primary email. That's weird.. Couldn't I just manually sign in using email address?
While it was a great app, it's no longer maintained and will probably be faded out soon. At least a feature is breaking already. The sync-across-device feature no longer works, so upon changing device you cannot sync your saved articles / bookmark.
What the heck, it still works :O With all the Android 10 and stuff. This thing was last updated in 2017. Which is a shame, by the way, this is the best implementation of this concept yet. The saved later google sync doesn't work however.
Great idea , but implemented in the wrong way ! The actual browser has many shortcomings, it's not a full browser, keep the link bubbles, but let us choose which browser we want to use, you know like the one we use all the time !
It's good. One of the best use cases of freedom of Android implemented nicely. I don't recall seeing ads. In build read later tool with sync enabled is also nice. Best browser for those who like to read via social media instead of following what others are doing. Must have for power users.
Excellent app and exactly what i was looking for. Some teething issues including article mode lines being scrambled (fixed with a refresh) or ending a webpage early (need to switch to web giew to finish reading). Overall great app though.
I would say it gets a 5 🌟 rate but I'm having a few issues. I can't sign into Google to access the ☁️ and I also can't get every other article I try to open to come up. I see it try to load it, then the whole thing disappears and I can't open and read the article.
This app has saved me from falling into falling in internet rabbit hole again and again. I keep the links open and enjoy the neatly formatted article without jumping from one link to another. Now I spend distract free and ad free reading. Thanks team for such a wonderful product.
The app is great and idea to use floating window is pure awesomeness. But I'm giving 4 star because when I change from quick view mode to normal (to read the whole content), things overlap on the page. The second reason is no aggresive ad block.
I can't believe I didn't know about this app earlier. Only downside is that it asks permission for my contacts in order to sync which is something that they should have found a workaround in order for users to feel safe about the app usage.
It's the ultimate in a stripped down minimalist web browser... How much more minimal can you be than a bubble. Sadly the browser is little more than a bubble, and an abandoned bubble at that.
Android system complained this app is draining data and battery alot. Leaving webpage opened will run the ads indefinitely. There is no saved page, there is only saved link. It's still useful though.
It's been preventing me from using the rest of the screen even while the bubble is minimized. It ruins the point of having the bubble there if you can't continue using the phone while the bubble is on the screen. Edit: I've noticed it prevents touch on anything on the level of the bubble and above, while everything below it still works. So you have place the bubble all the way at the top of the screen to keep it from hindering use of the rest of the phone.
