Love the app, but it crashes randomly, especially when there is no internet connection. Hard to recover.
It used to be a very nice app. To bad they abandoned its development, and is not working anymore with never devices
Sadly this did not work for me unlike others. It would have been perfect. Uninstalling.
i love to see where i am in the air. takes the guesswork out of air traveling.
Does not work on new phones
I originally gave this 5 stars but then found that I could not get to the settings menu on my new phone, it was simply not visible. It seems to be a display incompatibility issue. The author needs to rewrite the app to put the settings menu in a field that is ALWAYS visible e.g. a long press on the map or the altitude/speed box.
I know it says for phones but it did run on tablets. If you have a tablet don't update. I have a Nexus 7 and a Tab 3 and the maps no longer cover the whole screen on either. Not sure how to contact the developer. Great to have an idea on your position during a flight. Can be a struggle to pick up a lock but that not a fault with the app. Grab a window seat and stick with it, use in combination with GPS Status app which may help with getting a lock.
Worked perfectly on a recent Southwest flight from Orlando, Florida to Denver, Colorado on my Samsung Galaxy S6. I really appreciated knowing where we were and the route the pilot was taking to avoid some thunderstorms. It was a lot of fun using this app in flight!
The Best App for Pilot School, thankyou it worked on my tablet, and Samsung J7 core 👍 for anyone figuring how to access the setting in Samsung Series try to tap and hold the back button.
Worked great on entire flight from Florida to Michigan. Was able to follow entire flight. Updated GPS fix periodically from window seat by holding phone against window. Area surrounding destination airport was cached so was able to watch approach and landing at level 14. Could actually identify aircraft turn onto taxiway. Would be great if there were a way to identify which map areas are cached.
This app doesn't work on the Note 4. No plane symbol on the map, map doesn't move, no menu.
Good app, but hasn't been updated in 5 years and starting to force close on Android 9. Typically when pushing beyond zoom level 6.
Worked great on galaxy s5 but on galaxy s7 you can't open the menu/settings to cash the map which is essential when flying as there's no internet connection at 30,000 feet. Needs fixing with a on screen tab? Then ill give you your 5stars back
I've always liked this gps app for its simplicity. Couldn't find the menu on my Galaxy Tab until I read someone else's review about a similar experience - just push and hold the back button and the menu will appear..
I'm deleting.. While it shows you how fast, direction and altitude it does not show you where you are... No little plane icon shows up... I just used Google maps and at least that showed me what state I was over... Seems like they have some kinks to work out of this... Samsung Note 4... There was also no other way to pull up any other screens...
Works great on my old Samsung Note 2, apart from getting a bit glitchy if you zoom too far in. Useless on my Note 4, because I can't get to the menu to download the maps.
I used this with a Nexus 4 on a few flights and have found it works only if you get a window seat. Neat to have when it is working.
Can't bring up icon or access settings, refresh etc.
Worked great on Droid Maxx but no zoom or settings on S5. Used to be my favorite but no more.
It can be a little spotty at times, but is slowly getting better
Also didn't drain the battery as much as I thought it would.
Great app. Only problem is the time to download higher resolution maps
Tried it on 2 x flights and didn't work once , tried all the settings , do not download
On an HTC One M8 with Android 6.0 it works like a charm. An excellent app. No ads, very clear explanations of the theory behind its operation, accurate results. Using it on board in domestic flights (Mexico) and intercontinental (America to Asia and Europe) for about two years.
