The app says you get 5 free phone numbers per month but was forced to subscribe again to get a 2nd number. I got a message saying I was already subscribed, but was still double charged. Then, when you try to select an area code, most of them are "unavailable" according to the errors. When you try to use a random-generated number, you get a server error. Seems very buggy and a scam to get you to pay more money. Each text has limited chars so you have to send multiple texts, with no warning
I work in a medical setting and use this line for multiple reasons and in the beginning it was wonderful but after about 9 months or so (almost 2 yrs w/flyp currently) it would just randomly expire or shut off with some error message and I wouldn't know or get an update until it took effect. Meanwhile FLYP had no problem taking my money for their service every month for me to run into this issue. there customer service is all email which is good but having this issue consistently is not!
Needed multiple phone numbers for my new business, for incoming calls. I chose numbers from THEIR list and none of them worked. I could call out or text, incoming out of service to callers. Customer support emailed they were working on it, and never replied again. They charged me $8.71 per line and would've charged me more if I didn't cancel before the 7 day free trial. Now I'm fighting for a refund. App has no option for refund requests. Had to go through PayPal. Wasted a lot of time for me.
Terrible platform, terrible app! Refusing to update pre-2020!! Before 2020, this app was working amazing and I used often but after 2020 updates....slow loading, sms conversations wouldn't load and if load, multiple attempts to load and any missed calls, won't show in call log. Incoming calls is very buggy and doesn't work very well. Dont understand what is point of creating this app only to continue promote paid service and then abandon it. Oh and MY NUMBER EXPIRES every yr. #WorstVoipAppEver
As of this review, I've had this app for 2-3 months and am cancelling my subscription to it. It works well enough, except it has one very critical flaw. I was using Flyp as a business line for my small business. Here is what happens: I receive a Flyp phone call, answer the call, speak and end the call. After the call is ended, the Flyp app is open on the phone's list of open apps. I open the app, and Flyp app CALLS THE PERSON BACK, except the app makes it appear as if I'm receiving a call (when in fact the app/phone is dialing out without my permission). It doesn't do this every single time, but it does do it consistently and it makes me look unprofessional as hell, in my opinion. I thought I had solved the issue by just closing out the Flyp app after every call, but I thought wrong, as when I tried doing this, the phone would still call the people back, it just did it on more of a delay. There is no phone number for Flyp customer support that I can find. All support questions are through email. Response times vary quite wildly, too wildly for any kind of reliability. The company appears to offer no support on the weekends. DON'T PURCHASE!
Only half of a long text is sent to the recipient. The ability to send a long text is very basic in the realms of cellular technology. I don't see how this app has 3 stars because I mostly seen 1 star ratings once I read the reviews. I actually uninstalled this app and then reinstalled it just so I could leave a review, which says a LOT because I usually just uninstall an unwanted app and go on with what I'm doing.
I have been paying monthly for about a year now and my issues began when I tried to update credit card information. They have no ability to update credit card information in their app and you have to add another line then try and cancel. They were not able to so successfully and after 3 attempts I now am being charged monthly on 4 lines. Any time you try to communicate with them they have no live humans in service. No phone number, no chat nothing. Submit a request & you get auto EMAILS! 0☆
Unreliable. Does not notify me when I get a message. I get lots of wrong number calls from US at unsociable hours. But as my sister refuses to use a cheaper (free) more reliable option, it's better than using international call charges.
The worst, they're thieves. I paid for the app and I was never able to make calls. They made a ticket for me but I never got an answer and up to today I I still can't use the app. I decided to cancel my subscription even tho the month is not over. It's basically a scam, they'll charge the first month and not provide the service in order to annoy you and decide to unsubscribe.
The app doesn't seem to work. Using Android 10. The calls don't ring through, I just get a push notification saying I missed the call. I have to have the app open on screen to receive a call real time.
Was great until number stopped working after 1.5 yrs. When I questioned why number was not working, they told me the number I chose and had been using had been "recalled". They offered me another number...but never followed through. I paid for a year in advance and wanted a refund for at least 6 months (when I think the number went out)? I asked when the number went out but there has been no response. I have had no trouble with their competititor Smartline. Also, it is not easy to cancel.
BEWARE!!! - I signed up thinking that SMS texting is "unlimited" it really isn't unlimited. If you are a heavy texter and you send lots of text messages you'll get an error message after maybe a week or so where you cannot send anymore text messages.
Horrible App! I bought a subscription and used the number to run my business. After spending tons to direct traffic to the Flyp number, all calls immediately stopped. I got in touch with Flyp support and they told me my number was no longer supported - when I asked for help cancelling my subscription, they ignored me! Do not make the same mistake as me
I've depended on Flyp as a business line. Now they tell me my plan hasn't renewed and don't offer any help to renew. Fix this and I'll change the rating. UPDATE: Issue resolved. Tech support was easy to work with.
I've had flip for quite a while. Then all the sudden I wasn't receiving calls and when I contacted customer service they said that number had been recalled but yet still were taking money monthly from my account. I still have not heard from their customer service department. Buyer beware.
This phone number has never worked properly. I always get calls going into voice mail and it misses many connections. I would not recommend. The team is anonymous and they don't upgrade the app or service.
Too bad they abandoned the app used to be pretty good it was original that you could put five phone numbers on one app no one else is doing this too bad they couldn't fix the bugs and make it look better now they've abandoned it I've emailed them for months and now I get the email doesn't exist we're all deleting it 👎👎👎👎👎
Difficult to setup. Screen changes before you can enter a security code. Doesn't accept PayPal. Wants access to your email password. Won't let you use a different email address. I have an email that I use only for online purchases.
THIEVES! Your # will be canceled, they will not tell you and will continue to charge you monthly. Spent $120 before realizing no service. All they wrote to me was "After escalating this issue, we just received an update from our vendor that your Flyp number is apart of a batch of numbers that have just recently been recalled and unfortunately can no longer be supported. This is something that we were not expecting and haven’t experienced before". Total bs, report them to your AG and the BBB!
I have been paying for a number that has not been directed to my phone for over 5 months. I have contacted FLYP, to request this to be fixed or refund my monies. The number is still not going to my phone, it is bring directed to someone else phone, who, I do not know,, but I am paying for it. This is complete fraud! No one at FLYP, has resolved this issue and I keep getting charged. If this is not resolved within 72 hours, I am going to file a complaint with the BBB, their local AG office.
The service has been temporarily suspended two months in a row due to non-payment, however I have auto pay through google. This problem needs to get solved. Update. I was just informed by Flyp that they no longer support the number they provided. This number is on my business website, google business page, facebook business page, business cards, and business brochures. This will cost me thousands of dollars to correct...STAY AWAY FROM FLYP. HEADACHES FROM THE START.
Somehow my subscription was cancelled and i havent found out how to renew it. I havent heard anything back from the support staff and there is no number to call, only an email address. This number is used for my small business and im not able to send or receive texts, calls, or voicemail. Very frustrating...
canceled my number that I was using for signs, my website, and business cards out of nowhere with no warning. There is NO way to update your billing info, call in, or get help at all. I emailed but I decided to move my service somewhere else because I see a few reviews commenting the same thing. it doesnt seem like they respond to anyone
I would rate this a zero if I could! Not a single area code of my choice is available! The site says i can choose my area code everytime. They trick u to put in your cc & then you realize things are not how they say they are..You have ZERO choice in your phone. Then your locked in w your cc to pay for the monthly or annual subscription because there is no place to remove your cc. Luckily its a pretty cheap lesson. $7 & I have to cancel my CC!
how are you going to be a phone line supplier, and not have one line for me to call when I have a problem. you're probably a small self owned business but the problems I'm encountering right now is affecting my small business. you need more prompt customer service,email will not cut it. Wish I chose a different app when I started on my own 3 months ago. I have hundreds of business cards out there with a number on it that wont work?? no way to update billing or look at it. I'm lost
I've been using Flyp for business and it had been working pretty well overall. It gets tricky when a call comes through because it will disappear after the first ring and if you have a screen lock in your phone some calls get lost completely. The app doesn't allow you to renew your subscription and once it cancels its over. There's no way to contact anyone. The app has a place to only email. Terms and conditions doesn't show anything so getting any assistance isn't easy if it's an issue
