FM Synthesizer [SynprezFM II]

SynprezFM 2 is a programmable polyphonic synth with a multitouch dynamic keyboard, arpeggio, effects and 1024 built-in instrument patches. It uses Frequency Modulation, a lightweight method for generating complex harmonic waveforms by mixing or combining sine samples controlled by envelops and LFO. It is able to produce analog style pads, emulate classic or modern instruments, or invent new awesome crystalline sounds.
SynprezFM 2 is also a Yamaha DX7 emulator, that can render with accuracy the sysex files you upload into an external storage directory setup by menu, in order to extend the experiment. You can also create and save your own patches, either by editing one of the (willingly) unsorted builtin ones, or starting from scratch with the "init voice" function.

It is possible to record WAV, connect a MIDI keyboard with split capability (an experimental feature for Android 3.1 and above, using USB OTG cable), and take advantage of a small step sequencer. Even small devices can now leverage 2 synthesizers thanks to an optimized layout. To simplify the classic usage, complex functions are now only available in "expert mode" (activatable in the setup page): this regards the patch editor and the new micro-tuning feature.

While you play, you can trigger an after-touch vibrato effect by dragging your fingers on the active keys or shift the keyboard to different octave. Other performance parameters can be accessed above the keyboard, including 2 types of portamento, a sensitivity range for pitch or volume modulations, and some effects that give a sense of depth when using a headset, especially on plucked sounds. You can also adjust the polyphony to adapt to your device capabilities. Thanks to an optimized core, you can hear up to 16 channels playing together, even on mid-range devices.

Its a Dexed alternative on android. It works very well.I have an old phone and i can still get tons of polyphony without any problems. My midi keyboard works fine and its playable without latency. Nice for programming patches on the go. For my taste the interface could have been better, but after you acclimatize it still works ok.One thing i dont like is that some times its hard to be accurate with some parameters especially on the lower row of controlls(expert mode). Things i would really love to see to make it perfect are: -Envelope/operator settings copy paste.(This is so important on Fm) -Having operator select buttons for having quick access(1,2,3,4,5,6) instead of having to scroll -Maybe a simple step sequencer so that you can design stuff easier. Once again Hats of to the developer!!Almost perfect app and its Free

I did not expect this app to work with my whole studio. I just plugged the phone in and it detected my launchpad and my launchkey. Now I know android supports midi but I did not expect the app to pick up on it. Good job 👏 10 out of 10 would use again. Note I will still use ableton but this is great for offline use when its updating or when Im on the go.

What a pleasure. The app is so well put together. Love the scroll feature. You're able to cram so much functionality into a tiny screen with it. Have you considered finger acceleration in the scroll, so you scroll slowly when your finger is slow, and scroll quickly when your finger is quick. If you are holding your phone sideways with two thumbs on the keyboard, it might allow each thumb the ability to scroll the whole set of panels on its own without needing to move your hand :)

Like another user I had issues with "double-triggering" notes. Turns out I had a delay setting on but I'm not sure if that was by default or not. The only issue now (Moto g50, Android 11) is some distracting flickering lines on the screen while notes are playing. Otherwise an excellent app.

Excellent synths. Good all rounders for many different instruments and fx. Really varied and best of all free!! Thank you to the developer for your hard work in bringing us this!

Hey look... It's absolutely free. The sounds are the best you're ever going to get on an Android device. And there is plenty of tinkering tools to play with to create those unique sounds your listening for. The better the app, the better the sound, the more there is to adjust..... Can take a bit of time to work things out but this only adds to the experience. You'll find yourself not minding at all because the sounds you create will always bring a smile to your face. ITS FREE GADNAMIT! NELCHID.

Great Sound Monster 😍😍😍😍😍 Such a great tone library... 🤩🤩🤩 Only one thing I will suggest that is please increase the size of keyboard ( increase the width of keys) so that it can be played very conveniently... Hope you think on my suggestion... Best wishes from me. Good Luck 👍 🤗

Is there a 10 star option? This is a fantastic keyboard app! The sounds are great (and I've only got through 4 of the 32 banks), the layout is perfect and it lets you get into the nitty gritty if you want. It recognises my axiom air mini and lets me control pitch bend, modulation and portamento from it. More midi options would be welcome, but I really can't complain. Well done to the developers!

i appreciate all the effort the developer put into this handy little synth. i encourage you to check out their website, briefly detailing the process that got them here. the synth itself works without a hitch on my pixel 1, and fire hd 8. my only gripe is that it's not a hardware synth w dedicated buttons. current form doesn't allow for absolute precision. i'm not sure i would fault the developer for that. amazing little synth anyways, and it's cute to boot! thanks!

Works perfectly on my kindle fire 8 (and 7) and Miditech midi keyboard. I have most of the synths on android and this is one of the best - really fantastic sounds. FM synthesis is so versatile. I've been getting round the low volume problems by using a sound booster app and that's worked fine using only a very small boost. Great to see it's still in development, are there any plans to expand its capabalities, similar to the FM engine in the Montage 8?

Wonderful features with great sound, but I can't record what I play. I get an error message that says "no external storage configured". I tried writing a path to a newly made file in my phone to save to, but it doesn't work. Useless without ability to record and export. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S10+.

Nice app simple layout with easy to use effects I notice you can record your tunes on it too but I can't find a metronome to keep the tempo I want is there a metronome on here.

Please, tell me which synthesizer sounds/patches using this app. It is the best synthesizer app. I truly believe it

(Works perfectly, great synth, I'm leaving this part for comedic effect though) It's great overall, but it double-plays every note. In other words, every time I hit a key, it plays the note for about 200ms then triggers another like it normally should. To the dev: Know of a way to fix this? Update: I'm a silly willy. By default there's a delay effect on. And I call myself a music producer... Lmao.

I am musically inclined, and impressed with the ease of use and variety of selections available. No complaints about the volume. Use headphones or run a line into some powered speakers. One of the nicest apps I have encountered in any category.

This app is so good it's stupid. I was using a my midi controller (arturia keystep) with a different usb C device, so I figured just for fun I'd see if there were any fun synth apps to use on my phone. How is this free? It sounds pretty great through my phone's terrible little speaker. I'm honestly a little taken aback by how much you get out of this app. Maybe I wouldn't be so enthusiastic if I didn't have the keystep to go with it, but I do have it and it's pretty awesome.

Good app. Have a problem though, the newest android update on the galaxy s8 adds crackling noises to almost all vst apps. This one, common analog synth, common fm synth and more are unusable now. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? --- Thanks for the reply, you solved my problem. Turning on airplane mode fixes it. Cheers

This app is truly amazing and the sound is outstanding. I find the UI usable enough to use the synth confortable and thinker with the operators. My only problem is that my Arduino Due powered keyboard (native usb midi) does't work in my Samsung A8 with Android 9 (it works with other apps). All in all a great Synth! Thanks!! Update 24/sep/2021. The arduino due works after all. Amazing sounds!

Hi Jean-Marc, awesome app, fantastic for creating TX802 patches on the go. One tiny suggestion that would make patch editing much easier... It would be great if the operator selection was a row of 6 buttons instead of 1 button. Apart from that it's perfect, thanks for making it.

I have always loved FM synths--the Yamaha DX series is so classic. I am Facebook friends with the Christian music artist Bryan Duncan and also the 80's star Christopher Cross, both their bands used the DX. Also friends with Huey Lewis and Michael Mcdonald. This synth sounds great, the fact that it can be split into two synths, and that it runs so well on a Chromebook, making the keys easier to touch. It makes a tablet a great synth module, wonderful ad free app, well done!

Tons of fun after daily stress.. My bird "Fredie" not too happy because the noise is louder than her @ times.

Dan. N. May 16, 2019

Sadly, i wouldve loved to use this app but for the most part the keyboard doesnt work properly and when i press a note on my screen it sometimes plays the note next to it, i cant play properly when the keyboard response area is that much limited and awkward, tried playing fur elise and its impossible, the keys are really annoying when it comes to what key you clicked, its really frustrating and hopefully will be fixed. Edit:Fixed it 80% although still minor problems, very awesome. Thanks.
