FMI Weather
The Finnish Meteorological Institute's weather service gives up to 10 day forecasts for over 17,000 locations in Finland and for thousands of destinations abroad. If your phone tracking is enabled, the service will automatically show the weather data and warnings for your location in Finland. You can save your favourite location in the service. Will it rain an hour from now? You can easily check the service for the probability of rain and the rainfall forecast.

Despite the app being well advanced and informative, the latest update's visual design turned it into a clutteres mess as opposed to the former visual simplicity. Additionally, the widget is gone and that's a big downside due to how useful it was in particular. The developers should definitely re-introduce the older design for anyone wishing to keep what they were used to, as well as bring back the widget. Otherwise, many customers will seek alternative apps.
Perfect for Finland, confusing UI changes in newest update. The dark blue background was great and worked really well with all the icons. Furthermore, the widget completely vanished in Android 12, I don't know if it's a bug or a discontinued feature. I hipe it's reinstated soon as it was the main reason for installing the app.
Last update ruined the perfect weather app. I really liked the previous versions, add free and accurate weather forecasts. But disabling the widget forced me to change for the competitor. Less accurate and full of adds, but I wanted to see the weather right from the home page. The main app is still almost usable, but seeing only 4 days forecast from 10 in portrait mode, is bad UI design in high resolution screens. Colours also made the UI more clear than this back and white theme.
Weather forecast accuracy is the best of any app for Finland region. With the latest update it's great that you're able to customize the data you want to see for the hourly forecast (e.g. I added UV radiation). However, the user interface seems somehow more cluttered now than the "old 'n goodie" UI. Also the widget is gone, though it didn't work in previous version for me and many others so I guess it's not really a loss for me at least.
The latest update dropped one important feature for me - the widget. With the widget I could use the app without actually opening it. The new UI is a bit busy but I think I can get used to it. The map has gained a huge step forward with its' usability.
What used to be a great weather app with at-a-glance view to future weather plus local radar data is now a mess of numbers with no thinking of architecture. The only thing visible is the next hour - for a look to the afternoon or to the whole weekend, you now have to parse through messy tables. Two stars only because the forecast itself is accurate.
The update is a HUGE disappointment. It is so difficult now to look for the information, too much stuff cluttering the screen, not intuitive at all. I will have to use a different app now. I loved the old version, this one is maybe useful for a weather scientist, but not for a normal person.
Last update got new design, which does reduce the information density. More navigation is nessesary, before getting the desired info. - hour forecast needs scrolling - day based weather warnings are preferred - and take lots of space compared to information density - removed the widget (oh dear) - change of favorites via dialog instead of swipe - large buttons waste space - the list goes on I do not have any positive points.
The latest update May 2022 is a disaster. Several important functions have disappeared, and especially the visual appearance and readability is really infetior - resembling a badly formatted excel. Please do something at once, or basically all users will shift to something else.
The new ui is horrible. Used to use this app for its easy to understand nature. With a glance I could see next week's weather and also the next few hours. Now in my phone it looks like a wrongly scaled excel table that is designed to be read by machines, not humans.
The latest update was a major disappointment. There isn't a widget anymore. The app uses a lot more display space to show the same data as before. Now I have to scroll to see the data I usually want to see. The data displayed isn't as intuitive as before.
New update messed everything up. No more widget? This was the single most important feature. Also now when I open thr app I have to scroll down to see the forecast for the day. And then there's also less hours visible at once so I also have to scroll to the right. All in all, a very bad update for users. Now I'll go looking for a new app with a widget.
The new 5/22 UI is fuzzy and it is slow to see for instance the 10-day max temps as they are in the same row with min temps and other characters. This is the main information in the UI and harder to get than in the clear UI before.
Great app before until the recent update. The screen looks weird now and confusing, it looks like an excell sheet. It doesn't look like user-friendly. The new UI is a pain to the eyes!
The new update is just bad, the UI is so busy it's hard to easily find the information you're looking for. i much prefer the previous UI which was simple and visually pleasing.
New UI update forced to find another app. I've loved this app in the past but the removal of the widget, which was my main tool for keepingvtrack of weather, as well as awful new design, made the decision for me. Very disappointed in the downgrade.
After latest update, there's no more widget option. Not in the habit of opening an app separately to check the weather when I can quick glance it after unlocking the phone. Not good :( Interface is also worse now.
Still no positive progress. The widget and my settings seem to be lost. Basically the app went from great to poor, and it's not even clear why such a disruptive change was not needed.
Oh sweet Jesus what were you guys thinking with this UI update?? There's no sense of data relevance compared to the previous version, and now you've changed all the relevant data into a glorified Excel sheet with nonsensical icons.
The latest update removed widget, the widget is most important part of the interface for a weather app. The new UI design looks good, but the older UI design was more practical.
I'm in the minority because I love the new update. Much more stats, cleaner look, very intuitive. Never used the widget do I can understand its removal bugging people. In every other sense the app is much improved, thanks!
Keeps crashing after recent UI update, practically unsuable at thia point. Widgets also seemed to disapear. The ap worked fine with the old UI, everything was accesable. Please roll back the version.
Thanks for the effort to try and develop something new, but losing all the widgets is a major setback. This is degradation, not progress.
A decent weather app, but why has the widget been removed after the update? It was useful for quickly checking temperatures before heading outside, without having to open the app manually.
The latest layout is not very user friendly and makes it hard to navigate and look for various cities weather in a single go.
A very good app but the recent visual redesign is a big downgrade from the previous one, hard to look at and difficult to navigate.
Best weather app for Finland. But the recent UI update is really rough. While before different data was distinguished with different fonts, colors and illustrations, it now looks more like an excel table (esp. dark mode). It just looks like a jumble of numbers. I think the goal was to be more "sleek", but the user experience is really suffering. I hope future updates will reintroduce at least some of the old aesthetics. Also, is the resolution of the rain radar lower now?
