overall not to bad, but not amazing either. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the author's first game. Some of the writing is a little stiff. Character choices didn't always allowed for proper role play, as some of the MC's lines didn't reflect on the stats. My main complaint is that at some point the stats in my game became locked. They would not decrease or increase in reflection of my choices. I'm i correct to assume that was a bug?
I thought it started out great. The stats were great. I noticed that it got progressively more and more rushed... it felt like the game came to a close WAY too quickly and you kind of just didn't feel the satisfaction of completing a story game like I usually do... I also felt that the relationship mechanic was a bit odd... didn't really felt it should've been negatively affected when it should've been, and the same with positive... great storyline, just a bit too rushed.
Not the strongest story from the Choice of Games brand, but not particularly weak either. As others have said, it makes assumptions as to what your character is thinking, and sometimes choices about your character's feelings directly turn into actions or dialogue that might not 100% correspond to the text of your choice. I've only played through once, though, not sure if I will replay it more than once. I have a feeling there's some more depth thab what is visible on the surface.
Very well-written but also short. I liked how the stats turn out. The choices were realistic and not obvious. One thing I might say about this is because of its length, interpersonal relationships felt lacking in depth (to an extent). Nevertheless, I loved it. Kudos, author!
The game is as good as any CoG game should be, but the story needs some work here and there. As others have stated the story seems to revolve around some of your choices being forced, events not going the way the text says it does, etc (For example the last mission you do, I picked the Vaccine option but I guess that was the bad one?) I've gotten the same Old Guard ending for every playthrough no matter how friendly I am. Good game, but tends to assume your character's thoughts and/or opinions.
It was decent but just felt shallow. The writing is good and the characters are unremarkable if not cliche. No part is really good or bad; however, it has a tendency to stonewall your character doing or thinking certain things which was really aggrivating in a game about choice.
i did really injoy this one however i find that it wasnt very seamless (what i mean is a pacing issue). the flow for the story was off it goes from one set piece to another with little real transition. And interaction with Characters fells a little limited it is also Pretty short
I read the whole story. I have read many interactve novels by choices of games llc and hosted games as well. This is surely one of my favourites. It has solid lore, great story telling, non-aggressive rpg elements and choices that suited me. I eagerly await a sequel *wink*
This is probably the best text based game I have ever played but I do wish you had a choice to restart the chapter instead of restarting the hole game every time you want to make a different choice or if you pick the rong button.
I enjoy text/ rpg adventures. I appreciate how you can be either gender and have it be naturally compatible. The choices and plot flow were good. Thanks for an enjoyable "read". Keep it up.
Starts out strong, but gets worse basically around the time you have to pay for the game. What bothers me the most, is that a lot of decisions apparently have no consequences, often you get outcomes that weren't apparent from the choices you made and worst of all, that you got 18 different stat bars, that were almost impossible to fill even halfway and apparently they made no difference anyway.
[SPOILER WARNING] Over all the story is great but for your final deciding factor before the battle breaks out it's far too ambigous. I will ensure Terran freedom, (something that clearly means you'll side with the astral troops), and this vaccine need to be delivered. What am I supposed to think? Am I siding with the rebels or am I being neutral and descalating? Since you can only restart the entire and it's all the way in chapter ten there NEEDS to be more clarity on these options.
Its Awesome!!! But... Its very disapointing that i have to pay in order to continue on the journey that i got so addicted to in just a minute! This is VERY disapointing and so Im rating 1*. I would like it to completely free, even if with pop up ads here or there. Please fix.
It was honestly very easy to get into, and played it three different times for multiple outcomes! My only real critque is that it was rather short but it was well written
Best one yet, its full of cool and deep scifi story telling. It really blew me away the way small choices shape the destiny of an entire planet if not a civilization. Just blew me away.
Simply Superb.....Every choice matters meaning that it is very well written. 👌 4/5 🌟 stars because there is a point where my actions are not reflected in the result .Spoiler alert! -if you don't want to be spoiled don't scroll/Read futher (You have been warned) The part where I betrayed the Astral corps and released Major Zhang... but chose to stay in the mother ship: I thought I was gonna talk to the Colonel. But it never happened, fix this.....
i like your games and the otger ones similar to this one my only problem is u cant save your progress and you get put right back to the start even if you go off the game for 2 seconds i will happily change this if this is fixed
I have a love hate relationship with this game I love the sci-fi marine genre they went with but hat that you have to pay for a full version? I've been reading these games for a while now and yet this is the first one I found that you have to pay full version for.
I haven't even played it yet;I just want to say, that that cover image/picture reminds me heavily of fricking Halo, and I fricking LOVE it because of that! Imma go ahead and play it now. 😁. Also, FINALLY:I was wondering when Choice of Games was gonna grace us with new games to play!
Author forces too many assumptions about how our character acts. Can't play a bloodthirsty or super loyal military officer when the author forces your character to have regrets and un-choosable emotions regarding events. That being said it's a cohesive story that's decently put together. Just too many forced things that take away from the meaning of a Choose Your Own Adventure style story.
Had some nice ideas, but everything felt kind of bland. No climax or unique characters, mostly just by the numbers. A great start, not a great book
have played this game before. Found it really interesting but would really like it if you make it free and just put ads in. I don't have enough money to pay for the rest of it
This novel is amazing. The author really knows what a war is about. I really like how there is no absolute right or wrong, no black and white morality. You just choose a course you believe in and fight for it. It's a thrilling and memorable sci-fi adventure.
I have played man Choice of Games games and have enjoyed them all. this one was good but it seemed extremely short compared to the others I have played.
Good variety of choices. You get opportunities to get to know other characters and you command your own squad, calling the shots and choosing who side with. Very fun and well written but I had a hard time following what side was fighting who, or even why. None of the characters left a lasting impression on me unfortunately. Yet it didn't take away too much from the game as I played it. Do I regret buying it? Absolutely not. I plan on replaying a few times. Will I remember it in 10 years? Also no
