Fon Utility App

Just plain doesn't work. I'm connected and using the fonera access point but the app says that I'm not and that I need to connect to it to continue. The consequence is that I can't configure the device properly and it keeps disconnecting itself from the fon service and I get denied access when I'm out and about. I've tried using two phones and a tablet so it seems to be a basic design issue.

Finds my Fon Simpl router but fails to connect when I click on configure.

As the app can't see the Fonera though I am connected to its wifi network the program is useless. Shame.

Tried to connect with 2 of my foneras, but there is no way to connect or configure anything. Need a way to allow access to my "friends" without them using Facebook. Wonder why they changed something functional with this new system that simply does NOT WORK!

I have only used this app to set the fon unit up as a wi-fi extender. It did that job quickly and easily.

Not working with Fonera 2.0n, so now, with the new Fon website, I cannot change the bandwidth I'm sharing in the public WiFi. At this moment, there is no way to change it.

Does not want to connect my Fonera 2.0n - it's an old device but I don't see why it shouldn't connect. I can reach it via the default IP from my phone so I'm obviously on the right network etc.

Strange bugs, can't use. Fonera Mini with Android 5.1. When I first powered up the Fonera I had it connected to my LAN via WiFi and I was able to use the Fon Utility to get into the router and look around; I didn't change anything because I had to config the router properly. Now that I've configured it (through the web interface), directly to my external ISP with a static IP, with a new Wifi SSID and password, the Fon Utility is unusable. The Fon Utility only allows entry of 30 characters and I've set the Fonera's Wifi password to be something longer than that. I had to config a shorter password. This should be a trivial bug to fix. I see "Devices around you" and my (custom named) Fonera Wifi SSID. I select it (the only one), authenticate, notice my phone has now switched to the Fonera wifi from another SSID I was on, and now I'm back at the "Devices around you" again. Again, I select my device, and I see it it flashes "Almost There" then takes me back to the "Devices around you". I can't get past that. This bug, I can't understand. Happy to debug or test any new version.

My fonera shows on the list, I connect to it, but it doesn't go anywhere from there. It gets in a loophole always searching for devices and asking to login again...

Can use it but cannot connect either with ap or via wired to configure it. As I have not found 1 instance where I can use FON I will be removing it soon as I do not need the MyPlace_xxxxx signal.

Pretty useless, 3 different devices and none of them will connect to my Fon via the app even though router is listed. Seems no other way to access Fon now so fantastic fail Fon.

Impossible to connect via the Fon utlity app.

MyPlace approx 2 meters from me. App doesn't recognise it. Been a FON customer and user for many, many years but that doesn't seem to be rewarded. Like to replace the old Fonera but loyal clients are not offered any advantages. Perhaps they could review their marketing skills at FON?

Connected a Gramofon over WiFi via a 2012 Nexus 7 running Lollipop. Setup response a bit slow, and there was some confusion about which password to enter first, -- had to authenticate the Gramofon BEFORE linking and configuring. But with a bit of patience it did work right out of the box. No problems with the network or Spotify Connect. So far, we're pretty happy.

Router is sat next to me, laptop is logged in but despite phone seeing the ssid wont connect. The Web app also does not see my fon2100 online. For someone who has been with fon from the start, its now time to move on I think and disconnect down to not being able to easily configure it. Why break what wasn't broken?

Causes issues with the spotify player all too frequently. Needs work.

It was not a problem free installation..but finally got it to work.The previous sound quality issue is fixed...was my own fault, the plug was not pushed all the way in.😨

I can't connect to my Gramofon. I can see it, I try to connect and it just crashes. Every time. When the gramofon works I like it but when you need bad apps like this why bother.

The gramofon device seems to be working but I cannot use it because the app crashes and does not allow me to configure the device. Using nexus 5 running android 5.0

After a factory reset of the Gramofon, everything is working as expected.

It connected to the gramofon after some hard resets on the device itself. I can play music through it now, however, the app can no longer see the device. I have it set to clone the wifi network, which also prevents me from connecting to that wifi network with my phone :/ So, I can use it for spotify right now only by connecting to my mobile network. I hope a firmware update for the device itself sorts it, as I suspect it's not the app causing these issues.

Does not run on Samsung S3 or Nexus 7. Although linked to Myplace, does not recognise this and says "You need to connect to Myplace." Also says not for use in UK.

Works fine on HTC One making set up and registration very easy. I do want the fon app though but it says this is not compatible for my device, is there an update due?

Am connected to my place fon wifi which has another SSID as I renamed it, and the app does not see router. Simpl fon is the model

Installed it, connected to my Fonera signal. Ran the app, which insisted that I'm not connected to Fon. I uninstalled it. I suggest that you don't waste your time with this.
