Food and Symptoms Diary

This mobile food and symptoms diary enables you to narrow down food intolerances such as lactose, histamine or sorbitol intolerance, fructose malabsorption or food allergies. It can also be used to determine your personal threshold (tolerance level) for different foods once a diagnosis has been made. The app contains neither advertisements nor any hidden costs such as in-app purchases.-----Why use this app?-----If you believe that you may be suffering from some form of food intolerance or food allergy it is essential to keep a food diary. With the help of a food and symptoms diary, the medical professional you are consulting can narrow down the reasons for your symptoms. This means they can focus on the right follow-up (eg. H2 breath test) and thus reach an accurate diagnosis. The app can also be used after diagnosis. Different foods need to be tested to establish a person’s individual tolerance level. Therefore, keeping a symptoms or a food diary makes sense. The app is simple and intuitive. You can record your daily meals by entering them into the diary or simply taking a photo. You can also note your symptoms as well as the degree of severity and produce a clearly readable PDF which you can take to your doctor’s appointment. Symptoms can also be recorded by taking a photo, which is especially useful when you have symptoms such as rashes or other skin changes.Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)The app can also be used for recording the symptoms of inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease.-----Questions or comments?-----This app has its own support forum at www.food-intolerance-network.com. If you do find any bugs please drop us a line on the website so we can fix them as fast as possible. Thank you!----The symptoms diary app needs the following permissions:----+ Photos/Media/Files, Camera: You can, for example, take a picture of your meals or ingredients lists; The files are stored on your device (SD card); The data you enter will also be stored on your device.+ Identity, Contacts: the app will access your “me” contact information in order to copy your email address, name and date of birth (if you have entered this information into your device) in order to personalize the diary for your doctor. I absolutely love this app. You can put as much detail as you want regarding what you ate, medicines you had and symptoms you experienced. It is all beautifully displayed and it is very easy to access any previous data to see what may have caused you problems. Highly recommended. I would give the app 10 if I could.

I am struggling with food intolerance, and this is so helpful and easy. I'm starting to notice patterns and connections very quickly.

I wish I could have gotten a demo to test out rather than have to purchase it outright. Fortunately, I love the app and it serves my purpose really well. PDF export does hang -in the sense that the progress indicator never ecompletes but the PDF is already created in the background. It would be good to have a CSV export as well to further analyse the data in a spreadsheet.

For a while, the app let me keep my entries for previous days. But once I converted the entries to pdf & emailed them to myself, those entries disappeared from the app. I could live with that. But then after that, each day's entries would disappear at about midnight, so I can't review several days worth of entries at a time, which I would like the ability to do.

Great lean App! I would love one new feature: For each entry you could display checkboxes for common allergens, so I can mark all meals which contain lactose easily

I don't see a feature to create 'meals'. I often eat the same meals and it would save typing the same thing each day. Predictive text for common words would also be helpful.

Just started using it but the best I have found after trying 3 or so similar apps. No idea why it wants permission to access my contacts. I can't see any features that would need that.

Nice interface and great you can take photos of what you've eaten, but for a paid app I'd expect a lot more. I'd like to see maybe a calendar page with symptoms. Maybe the option to create labels for symptoms and assign them a colour so I can see the different sliders related to them on a graph

I like the fact you can log meals and drinks on the go. The convert to pdf is good but the only issue I have is my notes do not transfer on to the pdf document and I don't know why. Can anyone help with this?
