Food Basics

At first I thought this app would be a great time savings, oh boy was I wrong got to the cash, and app does not work, cashier was extremely upset saying the app doesn't work and they have had so many complaints, the digital chocolate easter bunny she manual input a coupon so I could get it for the .99, I didn't notice until I got home that I didn't get my .50 off the nuts I bought. So the store (food basics) is ripping us off. Not impressed. I will not use this app.

⚠ ⚠ AVOID AVOID ⚠ ⚠️ THIS APP NEEDS A LOT OF WORK! I could NOT get into my account! Fastest download/delete ever. Under 5 minutes. I tried all I could think of, but my account WOULD NOT open. It looked promising, but after downloading it just stopped working. It's bloody annoying. I'm done with this sad app. 👎👎👎

I like the app however it constantly freezes up in the store with green screen. Very frustrating and embarrassing when you can't produce the digital coupons at the checkout. The diligent staff cannot redeem without it and customers must wait!

The app started off great when it launched. Coupons were available for multiple brands of products. Over time these were eliminated and coupons now exist only for Selection and Irresistibles products. As of a couple updates ago, the app no longer launched. Instead it gets caught in some sort of boot loop in which you are the splash screen, it tries to start, then goes back to the splash screen. Rinse and repeat until you force close it. The app is unusable in this condition.

Our local store is super clean and a safe environment to grocery shop. The store is well stocked, and staff are extremely helpful. New self checkouts are fast and always staffed to assist with your inquiries.

I use it for getting receipts emailed. Would be nice to be able to select this option in app. No rewards, coupons are mostly for house brand prepared foods that I tdon't buy. No select all option. Flyer is easy to read but mostly useless as my local store gets sold out of many of the items quickly by customers / business owners that use multiple visits to circumvent any limits. It has a list features but I use paper for safety and convenience. No performance issus. It's mainly just an eflyer.

Back to loving the app! A quick uninstall and reinstall fixed this glitching for me. Hope that helps anyone else experiencing the same issue. I loved the app... u til it started screen flashing. Like it was on a reboot loop. It is very annoying .. attempting to uninstall and reinstall. Hoping for a fix so I can add more stars again.

Piece of garbage app. When you open it shows a bar code and you can't do anything.

Coupons do not work. Went to my local Food Basics, excited to try the App with the coupons. Picked up some jam that was a coupon, the cashier(s) could not figure out how to do it. 20 minutes later, gave up and walked away. Brutal!!! I will make sure I will tell everybody how bad this App and system is a Food Basics. You are wasting your time.

Can't print list from app, and some items are clustered together so you have to add items manually. The app should have a section for flyers and coupons and another section for creating a grocery list with the ability to create a list with anything in the store. The list functions should include, printing, quantities, aisles on where to get the food, also the app should organize the aisles for me, give totals including the tax, and average wait time for a cashier.

App is awkward and of little use. Shows current flyer but not upcoming. Even the newspaper flyer is better. App flyer pix are such low resolution that you can't determine what item is. Enlarging just gives pixelated blurr. Not many coupons & you have to load & scan each individually on checkout. Suggest you look at PC Optimum for design & features. Uninstalling. Love the store itself however! Much better than parent co. Metro.

This is usually a great app. But it has been glitching and won't open. It keeps trying to load between the barcode and the opening screen. On a constant loop. So its generally useless for my shopping today. Please fix this issue.

Just installed this app on my android. Question: Does the list saves itself automatically? Couldn't find a button to save it or print it. For those on fixed income, it would be great to be able to tally it up..

The app is getting better. I like the code scan to email the receipt, however the coupon long-press crashes the app. Very annoying! Almost 1 month later and the coupon long-press still crashes the app. Down to 1 star. Please fix this!

Easy to read & understand. Some stores the ads can be misleading as I recently discovered with Metro. Part of the same family I know but just a little more useful especially the pics of the actual products.

Great App! Like the experience of others, the most recent update made the app unusable: it repeatedly crashed to it's splash screen and then reloaded. Uninstalling, then reinstalling the Food Basics App has it working perfectly again!

Tried to use this app in-store with the coupons...no matter how many times the cashier scanned the coupon bar code, it would not work. It registered my customer number from the app, but would not apply coupon. Pretty useless if you ask me. Would give a minus star if possible!

Can't see the flyer on the app for the Poyntz Ave store when I designate that as my store. I can see the flyer for other stores. Why the difference?

The app is broken. Keeps getting in a loop where it opens, closes, opens, closes... basically hijacks your phone. There's no way to call up the coupons you guys advertise. Fix thix app please.

It won't actually open up. The page loads then it reloads again as if I just opened the app again. & It's like that non stop. It's super annoying. I can't even use the app.

I am not able to use this app. For some reason when I open the app it opens and closes, open and close, non stop it's there, it's gone, it's there and then blink. What the hell, I guess I will be shopping at a different store cause when I try to price match I can't do so.

No changelog means an automatic 1 star rating. It's that simple.

When I downloaded this app, I expected it to be more than just a flyer. It has NO connection to the store, it is no different than flipp or rebee!! I was sooo disappointed with this app. I have already uninstalled it! 🤨😑😔😪

All about marketing. Lacks information about products and availability at chosen store of items not listed in the flyer. If current inventory levels can't be shared, at least show prices and products/brands carried, otherwise your little more than a paperless flyer. Not worth the space on my phone at this point.

The application always shows the profile barcode when rotate the phone it doesn't matter which screen you are on. There's no search function you can only see the flyer and your profile barcode and your coupons.

not working, installed it, clicking to open it is starting going in for a second than goes to starting picture and literally goes back and forth, like each blinking.. so i couldnt even open it....

Cannot use the app. It flashes from the opening screen to the coupon screen and back and you cannot select anything to view the flyer or coupons....totally useless!!

Can't use the coupons you offer more often than not. Makes this app pretty well pointless if coupons aren't redeemable. I'd rate 5 stars if this were to be fixed and stayed that way.

You go into a store they list the prices of items. This app only shows how much you can save. You have to create an account to see prices. Uninstalled.

It's unintuitive, finicky, tedious, and generally requires more time and effort to use than it's worth.
