Football Coach

Football Coach is a college football simulator / management game.
In College Football Coach, you take the role of a newly hired coach at the school of your choice. Your goal is to win rivalry games, conference championships, and even the national championship! But with 60 teams total over 6 conferences, this task is easier said than done.

Your team will play 12 games in the regular season, which consist of playing all 9 of your conference opponents once and three out of conference games. By navigating to the "GAMES" tab, you can see exactly what your team's schedule is. And by clicking on each game, you can see a scouting report of the two teams (if the game has yet to be played), or a summary of the game (if it was already played). The most important game of the regular season is your rivalry game, which you gain prestige if won or lose prestige if lost.

At the end of the regular season, the Conference Championship is played between the two teams with the best in-conference record. If two teams have the same record, a head-to-head tiebreaker is used. If three or more teams have the same record, the one with the highest poll ranking is chosen. After the Conference Championships, Bowl Games are played. Only the top 16 teams get chosen for a bowl, with the most important being the National Semifinals between the #1 and #4 team, and the #2 and #3 team. The winner of these two games advance to the National Championship where an undisputed champion is crowned. After the season, your team will have gained or lost prestige based on their results versus their expectations, and you move onto recruiting.

When you first inherit a team, you will have a total of 46 players (22 starters) on your roster. Each player has a name, their year in school (from Freshman to Senior), an Overall rating, Potential rating, and three position specific ratings. The Overall rating is just a composite rating of the three position specific ones, while Potential determines how much each play improves during the offseason. You can view all of these players in the "ROSTER" tab, which will include:

2 QBs (1 starter): Quarterbacks, responsible for throwing passes to wide receivers.4 RBs (2 starters): Running Backs, who run up and down the field.6 WRs (3 starters): Wide Receivers, who catch passes for yards and TDs.10 OLs (5 starters): Offensive Line, responsible for protecting the quarterback.2 Ks (1 starter): Kicker, responsible for kicking extra points and field goals.2 Ss (1 starter): Safety, responsible for covering opposing wide receivers and causing interceptions.6 CBs (3 starters): Cornerback, responsible for covering wide receivers to deny them the ball.14 F7s (7 starters): Front Seven, responsible for stopping the run and putting pressure on the quarterback.

As a coach, you can pick what strategy your team employs on offense and defense as they play through their season. By default both strategies are set to "No Preference", meaning there are no bonuses or penalties either way. But you can change your strategy to any of the following:

[Offense] Aggressive:
- Utilize a more aggressive offense. Will pass a bit more.
- Pass with a lower completion percentage and higher chance of interception.
- However, passes that are caught will go for more yards.

[Offense] Conservative:
- Utilize a more conservative offense. Will run a bit more.
- Passes are more accurate but go for less yards.
- Rushes are more likely to gain yards but less likely to break free for big plays.

[Defense] Stack the Box:
- Defensive scheme with emphasis on stopping the run.
- Will give up more big passing plays but will allow less rushing yards and big plays from rushing.

[Defense] No Fly Zone:
- Defensive scheme with emphasis on limiting the pass.
- Will give up less yards on catches and be more likely to intercept passes.
- However, rushing plays will go for more yards.

I absolutely love this whole family of games, but college football coach: career edition is the best and here's why. The whole "aggressive" and conservative play calling isn't as inclusive as it is in career edition. It this game could have play calling like that it could be so much better

I thought this game would save my progress when I select "Save League" Apparently, that button was a full-on tease since when I came back, my record was back at 0-0. I love the concept, but I simply cannot forgive this bug in the game.

Awesome. One of the best sim games ive ever played.

Alot of fun to play, im 600 years in with one save point bc its so easy to play and play for a while. Would like to be able to save during the season, rather to before. Maybe you could add coaches and coordinators to help run certain offenses/defenses, and also affect improvement of players better. But not many complaints

A great game for strategy. You can pick it up after setting it down for a while and keep on going where you left off. You can play at your own pace as well, and it's very difficult to get players with the same name twice, even when you start different games. Maybe add Tight ends and Fullbacks to spice up the offense, and give a pinch more money for recruitment if this is implemented though. The save system is weird, since it only saves at the beginning of the year, and it only saves manually. If this issue was to be addressed, I might call it the perfect casual game.

Great app with a very original idea. I just wish it was more descriptive like your offensive line was really left tackle left guard center etc. and your front 7 on defense was Defensive end Nose tackle etc. This way you could have 3-4 defenses or 4-3 and it would effect your run and pass defence. Also should be able to decide pistol pro style and spread type offenses. Maybe add Fullbacks and TightEnds too

The game was a very enjoyable distraction; I'm a huge Front Office Football fan and this definitely satisfied my mobile text football itch. Only complaint is that it becomes entirely too easy to maintain a dynasty even on hard once you learn the simplistic drafting

Incomprehensible financial system. If you place the same, then the money should remain relatively constant. I tried to make the game more fun by choosing American Samoa, but after 5 years of going from (0-12) to (5-7), my recruiting money was less than $100, simply because my prestige was falling. Doesn't make any sense to base the system's money supply around prestige, but whatever. Enjoyable with everyone that isn't American Samoa.

-2 for losing to rivals is too much! When I took the worst team I couldn't beat my rival and my prestige got so far down that I literally had $0 to use in recruiting which badically made it impossible to ever beat any teams let alone my rival. I couldn't bring in ANY players which ment every year I was worse and I could never beat my rival to earn any money. This made it impossible to play because season went- "go 0-12. Have 0 money to recruit. Have a worse team than last year. Go 0-12 again. And repeat." Its just to much!

I have never rated an app before because I haven't found an app that made me want to. This game made me do it. I only downloaded it this morning and already it's my favourite game on my phone. Cannot say enough good things about it. Every football fan should download this game.

This game could be 10x better with just a few things. A few of them being, coach prestige, job security, other coaching position offers, etc. If you could make that happen I'd easily pay money for this game. Happily too. Maybe throw in a competitive recruiting? Like you and 2 random schools. Start at $0 and the player goes to the highest bidder? Or maybe even have a mode where you can create a player and chose a class path and then chose a school and get drafted after 4(or3) years? I love it. But want more.

I downloaded this today and didnt realize it but played it for some 5 hours straight. This reminds me of the old PC sims. Very well done! Now i will be getting College Hoops and the Pro Football one. It would be awesome if you made a Racing sim like this.

Love the game and to make it better could you give us a play game options for people who might like it. It would be easy just in game coaching and you make calls like whether you want to run/pass/punt. But like with more detail like a playbook you call and it has an average yards gained measurement. And also in game substitutions. And for the future mayb like awnsering media questions

Will only give 5 if I can save the game mid season. Seems like I can't. Maybe I am just stupid.

Gre. T. J. Feb 9, 2018

Easy and quick to play, this app is perfect for a casual player. Limited name generator and inability to save during the season are the only minor conplaints.

JT. A. Nov 28, 2017

Only thing that's needed is more teams more access to stats. Also a rating for the coach so you can have the potential to get fired. Also make an NBA and MLB those would be very popular because of season length. Other than that it's cool.

Chr. L. Mar 22, 2017

Pretty happy with this, scratches my "GM" itch. Navigation back to your own team could be easier though. And the random generated names need a lot more variety... How many kids with the first name Blewitt or Thor can there really be, even in the year 2045?

Dun. A. Jan 7, 2018

This game is great for me. I love it. One thing I'd like to see added would be defensive stats.

Joh. L. Dec 4, 2017

Are you guys making any new games? Like NBA or NHL? If you are I would definitely pay for it. I play all of your games. Only thing I would want to fix in this one is more coaching options and making recruits not be guaranteed. Like a highly rated guy can be a bust and another could be a diamond in the rough.

Loved the strategy that goes to this game. I think maybe get a better off season with things like transfers. Also, don't get all of the conferences the same quality. As you can tell from these tiny details, the game is great overall.

Jus. M. Feb 9, 2017

Great app. Very easy to learn, but very detailed. Perfect game for madden players like me who enjoy the general managing of the team more than actually playing the game.

Jim. M. Feb 26, 2017

Good game but i wish there was a button to delegate recruiting it takes longer than olaying an actual season. Good concept tho. I love it!

Eri. W. Jan 26, 2017

Great game. No in app purchases. Old school strategy game that goes quick. Very fast install so there's no real downside to trying it out.

Jos. S. Feb 24, 2017

Huge fun for a week. It gets repetitive eventually, and once you figure it out, success perpetuates itself. May try hoops but probably not pro football.

Pey. M. Jul 13, 2017

What is this. Dont download it please for the sake of humanity. The maker is a scam all the reviews giving 5*'s are just bots.

Ben. D. Jan 4, 2017

I don't know what else to say other than that this might be the most boring game ever. 5 minutes and I uninstalled it.

The. C. C. Jan 23, 2017

I don't like how if I put a strategy for a team. For instinct a team was number 1 for rushing yards a game. I selected push the box to stop runs. But they ended up doing more rushing yards
