Force Link

Pretty cool toy, though I'm not sure the three minutes of wow an 8 yr old can provide are worth the aggravation of setup and updating. Also, make sure that you are using a compatible mobile device, (list on the Hasbro website), or, like so many other reveiwers have discovered, you won't be able to sync with the gauntlet. Had to try two different phones to get it to work. They only plan to support this toy thru June 2019, so don't look for any further updates. Overall, I am disappointed.

Diabolical. Managed to get the app to connect to the device after many attempts, then eventually managed to get the ridiculous double tap to work to initiate the firmware update, which never completed, now cannot even get the app to connect to the device again. Presumably it's not bricked because it still recognises Han Solo, and a Bluetooth scan shows that the device is still broadcasting even though the app can't find it. But not much consolation to my kid with a silent Millennium Falcon 🤷‍♂️

Without doubt this app is appalling. Leaving aside the horrendously difficult update procedure, the app itself is impossible to navigate, appears to have no control buttons or sensible menu and no "back" button. It's so difficult to navigate, in order to start again, I had to uninstall it and re install it twice. That's before we start the update procedure and the near impossible "tap twice" These toys are still in sale but the app hasn't been updated for 2 years. Appalling.

I've not used a worse process to pair and sync devices. The whole double tap to sync process is an absolute nightmare it took like a 100 tries before i got it syncing and this is coming from a experienced IT professional. Once the app syncs to the device it needs about 2 hours to update the firmware and while doing this it leaves the screen on. If you lock the screen it cancels and you have to start again with the whole double tape to sync process. How this design got approved and went into production is beyond belief. After 3 hours my son can finally play. What a joke!

If the toys are for sale then the essential companion app should be updated so it works on a higher % of devices. I installed a 600mb app from the playstore on several android devices before finding one that: (1) found the bracelet in the Force Link link app and linked to it rather than finding nothing but an android bluetooth scan seeing it. (2) started the update and showed a % progress bar rather than hanging on an updating screen with no % status and no error.

All the one star results are accurate... this app does not work. I have tried it on multiple devices and it crashes, stalls, fails to connect, so no update is possible. As a result, about half the figures we have say "firmware update required."

It was fun while it lasted... when it decided to work. Random, uncontrolled phrases and sounds FX produced only with a ton of trial and error trying to find the device's sweet spot, an extremely unintiutive app (this one) that takes too much memory from a smartdevice, and all of this just to expire after a movie has gone through the riggermarole of its advertising campaign (from theater to video/streaming). To think that it required TWO versions of this device to work on most (not all) of the toys, now to be just a useless attatchment to a cardless figure, poses more hubris than the Jedi Order has ever been able to achieve. All in all, a great idea (finally, movie-accurate sounds to ships and playsets!) undone by the short term greed of Hasbro. What's next, action figures made out of helium balloons?

Bluetooth connection doesn't work - tried on 3 modern Android phones. Won't find Forcelink wrist device so can't update firmware - so characters (Chewie/ Rathtar etc) won't react to wrist device as meant to - just triggers irritating voice repeating message 'firmware update required'. App not updated for over 2 years which could explain it. Disgraceful as Forcelink products promoted and sold dependent on this app.

absolutely terrible application. sometimes it will not even find the device other times when it does find the device it will not completely update past 65%. and then on the worst case scenario you cannot even get the device to sync my tapping the bottom of the Force link wristband. I bought this wristband along with several toys for my son including the Millennium Falcon and other vehicles in the firmware update simply will not work. I already tried replacing the new batteries. no luck.

Download took forever, does not pair with app even though it was manually paired through bluetooth on the device. Tried multiple options with no hope in sight. Gauntlet only works with han solo, all other figures say it needs a firmware update required. This is absolutely rubbish, regret getting the toys and app, deleting and never using again....EVER!!!

Got the starter pack with solo and it keeps saying firmware update Needed. Downloaded the 600mb app to synch and within 1 foot and it cant find it. Trying everything but nothing will sync. BT is on but nothing is appearing after several scans. Keep repeating steps and it just wint sync. Ruining a bday and will likely return all this junk

piece of junk!! was able to pair with phone but update keeps getting interrupted and "tapping the force link twice" to begin the update does not work well at all!! I have to repeatedly tap on the force link and now it will not work at all.....

have a note 9 and cannot find on bluetooth. bought my son all kinda of the force 2.0 things with the wrist bs and cannot even find. then wife tries she finds it but after waiting an hour it says 100% complete then all of a sudden we try it and nothing. so she started all over again. tried it on the han solo it worked tried it with the 15 other toys says firmware update needed. wth is wrong with this how do you charge for this horrid junk

Absolute rubbish. Took a restart of the app and allowing all permissions to get it to even see the Force Link. Tapped the Force Link about 200 times or more to try to get the update going but it never registered my taps even after taking advice from YouTube videos. This shouldn't be sold in shops, it's trash. The app has been uninstalled and the force link will probably end up in the bin as it keeps asking for a firmware update.

What a piece of hot garbage this is. Simply the worst software I've ever come across. Multiple attempts overs 3-4 hours to get it working and still not done. Everyone associated with this product should be ashamed and Google should put a warning on the download.

This is the worst app ever!!! Would never download an app with a 2.4 rating for obvious reasons. Tried it on my Samsung android phone and tablet. It just doesn't work. The concept is great, zero for execution!!! Why isn't the info preloaded at the factory? I should bill them for the time wasted and the price of the Force Link 2.0. Simply atrocious!!!

I wish I could forgo giving any stars. Absolutely ridiculous app. The developers should be fired. Seriously, it's Bluetooth, why bother with the whole tapping component?? And there is no progress display so you have no idea how far along you are with setup. The fact that the see developers aren't even responding to reviews or trying to make the app better goes to show what a waste of time and money this is!

The app doesn't work. We bought the new gauntlet so that my kids could use all of the characters, but no dice. The app won't connect to the gauntlet. My bluetooth works with every other device on the planet.

It doesn't work. It won't find the force link device even though bluetooth is on and the device is on and right next to my phone. My son is so disappointed that his new force link toys won't work because we can't update the device.

Avoid these toys at all cost. While my bluetooth will sync with the device the bloated app that wants permission for everything on my device doesn't connect. Save yourself time and trouble and avoid this garbage.

It would appear the other reviews are accurate. 600mb app, poor bluetooth connectivity and when it does connect the update doesnt work. Poor all around im afraid.

Great!, just disable automatic power management on the phone settings for this app so it can continue to run , turn on flight mode then reactivate just Bluetooth, took about 35mins to update my sons Force Link.

doesn't work. you can't connect it to any other toy. it only works with Han Solo. it can't do any of the functions that it describes like adding other toys. you cannot utilize The collection function. worst toy in the world. and they aren't kidding when they say it takes hours to download an update your firmware.

sweet jesus, could you make the app take more memory? I just need it to update the silly gauntlet, not give me 3D imaging of every single star wars toy ever made. The double tap to make the gauntlet update was very annoying. the update time for the gauntlet was outlandishly long. this will probably get deleted, unless the gauntlet doesn't work anymore without my phone.

Good collection app. Could differentiate the highlighted items more dramatically. Everything looks good but the collected item has a small star in the box corner.

I had this toy from Amazon and brought seen March 25th of this year and when I downloaded the force link app I tap the force link twice and it worked the first time but I have to do it again because it didn't get updated already thanks alot Hasbro for making this force link 2.0 terrible with the update

Horrible. The forcelink toy requires a firmware update out of the box. But the update cant be done after ive tried multiple times. What a waste!
