To scan your receipts and bills using Foreceipt, simply tap the scan icon at the bottom. Place your phone above the receipt on a plain, dark background. Foreceipt uses OCR technology to accurately read the merchant and payment data to convert your paper bills & receipts into digital receipts. You can edit, verify or delete your receipts once scanned. There seem to be many features, but without a robust scanner they are essentially lost. The scanner does not auto-crop well, the corners must be individually adjusted (the edges should also adjust), auto-focus is not reliable, and text recognition is negligible. Scanning and entering even one receipt takes a full minute. Definitely not a time-saver. I've ended simply using a basic document scanner instead. It's simple and gets the job done.
The application worked great prior to getting a few receipts in the system. I first thought it might be my cellular service, but continued to show the "syncing" message over wireless, and also on my PC using the webpage. The OCR portion always chooses the"subtotal" section of the receipt, causing me to always have to verify my receipts and hunt for the actual total. It would be great if they would make some getting started videos on YouTube and give a link to them in their help section. Please refund my money and cancel my subscription.
Extreemly annoying, I'm used to the iPhone app where it automatically detects the receipt and the corners. However an Android it just takes a full picture of the screen and you have to manually adjust it on the receipt. The feature for it to detect the receipt automatically is extremely important. I don't want to be wasting time to manually select where the receipt is. Please fix this ASAP as I do love this application, however it's hell to use on Android.
Very USA biased making it awkward to use in other countries. E.g. 1 dates are always in mm/dd/yyyy format 2 adds GST/tax to the receipt value rather than allowing it to be subtracted. In most countries I have been to (except USA) the receipt lists the cost inc GST/tax. This means that I need to get a calculator to determine the ex GST price so that foreceipt can calculate the GST and show the price that is on the receipt. Other issues: Just lost all the receipts I scanned yesterday Website always shows 'Syncing...' but never syncs.
This app used to work. Now when I open it and try to upload a receipt, it sends me to their website and just reloads these dumb messages about all their features. Realizing this is the legacy version of the app, I tried to download the latest version. It tells me I'm a user who first used the legacy app and sends me to the app store for the legacy app -- as if that's my only choice. This service doesn't work AT ALL anymore. I'm so frustrated!
Ive been using the app for over a year. Paying account. But recently whenever i open the app, it will open Chrome, take me to a webpage for "tips" for no reason. And as long as i dont close the app, the webpage will keep refreshing. If i go to any other app, it will force take me back to that page! I cant do anything in the app because it will take me back to Chrome once every 2 seconds. Extremely frustrating.
Started well as expected. some errors with ocr but easy rectified. problem came when i noticed receipts began to disappear randomly. obviously i cannot have tax records missing. Each time had to go through the receipts and re enter tbem. I emailed the company who told me to do all the checks i had already performed without successful resolution. Trial has now ended and what was it.
Im PICKY.! Saves Time. love the SCAN, app is hard to navig. at 1st. REPEAT INCOME, difficult figuring out.Did research, its in DESKTOP app. Ok now. it's great.! it's easy aftr familiar. try FREE version. Whilst they offer "ProTrial " do that 1st.! Then decide. I prefer this app over others. Mostly scan funct. (High free max) near perfect deciphering w/flat, clean rcpts. Define Details. Each Time. I ONLY use FORCEIPT now.!!
I had annual subscription for $10 which ended last year. Today I tried to use the app to scan just one receipt to discover that they offer zero free scans without the subscription. Worst part is that they jacked up subscription rate from $10 a year to $39. Who the hell raises prices by 300% in a year. Times must be tough in Markham Ontario.

This app is ok. When I first started adding my receipts, the app ffg displays the creation date vs the receipt date.??? When I change the filter to receipt date. Nothing is displayed. It took a lot of customizing to get this app to work for me. It's just an ok app.
receipts scanned in are often blurry. most did not pick up the right total or the right date so required editing. when uploading to Google drive, no way to name files, so had to rename them there. I uninstalled app same day.
This app is amazing! The only thing I'm missing from it is an option to input a recurring monthly expense. Otherwise, super detailed and easy to use!
I like the app due to it's simplicity. No trials no ads perfectly matching for personal Use. only drawback that I am seeing is delay to recognize the amounts etc.. but its not the thing to worry too much.
Great! I have just now downloaded and tried. So far very happy. It automatically picks the merchant name, brand company name, shopping date, total tax i.e. and fills it and also keeps a copy of receipt, bill etc.
Works very well and I like the easy to use layout. I wish there were more categories tailored specifically to business or a business version of the app.
Impossible to get the app and the web page to work together. I still cant get my receipt to sync with the website so I can download it as a pdf for an insurance claim. Beyond frustrated with this app and will definatley be looking somewhere else.
Only works half the time. When I turn on the app, it doesn't load any of my previous expenses and all the stats are 0. The only fix is to close the app and to restart it.
i used the app with subscription old 9.99 for a year it's helpful for the beginner, i stop using the app after 3 month of using after one year they renew my subscription without email reminder and I already stop using the app , I try to contact them for claim a refund & no answer.
disappointed. Each time I tried to scan a receipt, it would say "not a receipt" yet the total number of receipts was reflected accurately. i uninstalled within a few seconds.
I wanted to try the free version first but from the very start you can't. They force you into an upgrade trial whether you want it or not. I do not appreciate it at all. You also can't change it or cancel it to get back to the free plan.
Really like this app. We tell others about it. I'm used to the iPhone app which automatically finds & takes a pic of the receipt. This Android app doesn't do that. At least not yet. But otherwise it's pretty much the same. Would recommend it.
Loved the app. Got told to renew had to cancel via apple music. Have no iPhone. Can't do on MacBook. Contacted support. Got ignored. Now will lose important documents.
The scan and OCR feature does not work well at all and is unreliable. Sometimes it uses the receipt total for the total and sometimes uses the subtotal or line item as the total.
I like the app.. but two point could be improved. 1. when you had a price you should be able to say if the VAT is included (like in European countries), where many tickets come only with the total price and the I need to calculate what the original price was. 2. I get tickets with different products that have different VAT.. it be cool to be able to introduce more details in the cost...
