Forgotten Game of Ur

Amazing reconstruction of a long forgotten game. The UI is smooth and intuitive. The AI is well balanced both AI and human person feel like they can win. I like the rule set better here than the Irvine Finkel rules. Easy to play but difficult to master and plenty of strategy. If you enjoy any type of board game ie backgammon, chess, senet, you will love this.

Excellent gameplay, if i didn't know otherwise i would think these arethe original game rules. I think other ppl ver/rules r good but more suited to a relaxing game with the grandchildren. Whereas this game is enjoyable and keeps your brain active and engaged. The only thing puzzling me are the symbols in the popup menu, the top 3 don't seem to do anything? Whatare they for? Thank you for producing such a wonderful piece of software, keep up the good work.

I like the rules to this fun game but it is not AI. The dice are rigged to keep opponent close. While he had a tile blocking me 2 away I rolled 11 two's in a row. No joking. He finally caught up and the game ended. AI should make smarter moves, not rigging the dice. I've notice it frequently now that I now what to look for.

This would be fun to play against other players with actual random rolls but since it's against an AI the only effect turning difficulty up has, is rigging the rolls in the AIs favour. Could be fun if executed better but ultimately a frustrating experience.

Pretty good except many many many times the computer gets just the roll it needs to bump one of my men off. Sometimes i will get the lucky rolls too but many times i am rolling one while the computer gets 2 3 4 often. Or does it only seem that way? Sure seems that way.

Garbage. Don't waste your time with this one. The AI makes impossible to win the more you play. Dice will always roll in favour of the game. I needed a 1 to exit the board, and the die rolled a 2, 8 times in a row. Statistically impossible. Uninstalling.

The rule that too pieces cannot occupy the same box isn't a part of this app. I landed on the opponent's piece and it stayed there. It was supposed to be knocked back to start.

The last star is withheld. To make it a five star game, is to have mutiplayer where you can play this game with friends and other online players. Great set of rules, that seem like they were taken from cuneiform tablets. Beelzebub.

I study and re-create ancient board games. This is a beautiful spin on the rules that is masterfully done. Very playable.

I have this game installed on my laptop from the same developer. The game of Ur is one of my favourite games of all time (along with Stratego) and I had to have this on my phone too. Even if you think you are beat, don't give up, it ain't over til it's over. This game will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Crashes often and was made for an older version of android. Doesn't work properly which is a shame since The Royal Game of Ur (The game, not the app) is great fun :\

Excellent game. The rules used are those by Dmitriy Skiryuk, which are the best ludically and as faithful to the original as any others, given the original is unknown.

wrong rules. setup does not work. not fun to play, when original rules are not posible.

Why does it only roll 3 dice? Also the roses are supposed to be safe but I had a piece captured when it was on one.

The "AI" of this game seems like it's not actually getting smarter as the rating increases, only that the dice gets more and more stacked against your favour.

I don't understand. Archeologists literally discovered the rule book for this game. You can see it yourself at the British Museum. Why invent your own rules? This isn't how it's played.

Just like the viking game. Still learning. Gives me a thrill just having it.
